Chapter 82

Chapter 82

Hearing what Ella said from the passenger seat, Joshua's handsome face turned cold and stern. He couldn't help but turn to look at her.

"What did you just call me?"

He reached out and pinched her little face as punishment.

Ella was really affected by the alcohol. Her little face was flushed red, looking so tempting.

Especially those full, rosy lips, so delicate they seemed like they could drip water.

Ella smacked her lips, pushed Joshua's hand away, leaned back against the seat and continued, "Aren't you an old man? You're 34 years old, a whole ten years older than me. I'm a young girl in the bloom of youth who married you, and you're still not satisfied. You still go mess around with that old woman Scarlett."

The man was animated, gesturing wildly with his hands.

"What does Scarlett have that I don't?"

"Yes, I gave birth to two children for someone else, but I didn't want them to come into this world. You have no idea what I went through. You always humiliate me and bully me. You're so much older. Can't you cut me some slack?"

Ella's consciousness was completely unclear. She wrinkled up her little face in discomfort and started crying.

"You old bastard, I hate you so much. I can't stand you. I don't want to be your wife anymore."

Joshua looked at her.

He saw tears in the corners of Ella's eyes and her face full of distress.

He actually ignored what she was saying and slammed on the gas pedal.

After the car arrived at the hotel, Joshua carried Ella straight to the room.

But Ella wasn't behaving in his arms. She grabbed at him, punching and biting.

She kept crying, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset Grandpa so much that he died."

"Joshua, I feel terrible too. Do you know that every time you bully me, it's like stabbing a knife into my heart?"

Ella looked so wronged, then suddenly became docile like a little cat, pitiful and helpless.

Joshua probably really realized he was getting old and should be more patient with her.

He didn't lose his temper the whole way. Now carrying her to the room, he coaxed her softly.

"If you'd just listen to me, why would I bully you?"

He noticed Ella's face getting redder and redder, with what looked like small red rashes appearing on her exposed neck.

Realizing she might have alcohol poisoning again, Joshua kicked open the suite door and shouted toward Scarlett's room, "Scarlett, hurry up and call a doctor."

Scarlett had been left behind earlier and was already unhappy about it.

Hearing the shout, she got up and saw Joshua bringing Ella back, which made her even more angry.

She moved closer to the bed to see what tricks Ella was playing now.

But Joshua yelled at her angrily, "What are you looking at? I told you to call a doctor right now."

Scarlett was startled by his yelling. Reluctantly, she pulled out her phone to call for emergency medical help.

Joshua really noticed something was very wrong with Ella. Worried something might happen to her, he quickly called Samuel in Emerald City.

Then following Samuel's instructions, he gave Ella first aid step by step.

Ella was really uncomfortable and restless.

She kept flailing around.

To get her to cooperate, Joshua held her down on the bed and gently coaxed her.

"Ella, be good. Don't fuss, okay? Let me wipe you down, or you'll feel uncomfortable."

"Don't move. You have so many rashes - they'll itch. If you scratch them, you'll have scars."

"Don't be scared, Ella. The doctor will be here soon."

Realizing that Ella could die from alcohol poisoning.

Joshua was truly worried.

When he couldn't stop her from scratching herself, he held her down on the bed and kissed her.

Completely ignoring that Scarlett was still standing nearby.

Watching Joshua's behavior, Scarlett's heart went crazy with jealousy.

She had always thought Joshua was gentle enough with her.

She never expected that now he was coaxing Ella like a small child, so carefully.

He even took the initiative to kiss her.

Like she was some precious treasure.

At this moment, Scarlett realized that Joshua might truly love Ella.

And love her deeply.

Otherwise he wouldn't ignore the fact that Ella had two children, or even let Aiden die of anger.

Scarlett was unwilling to accept this.

Why should she lose to Ella?

She wouldn't lose.

She must still have a way to break them up.

The doctor arrived quickly.

Fortunately, Joshua had already applied cold water to the areas where Ella had rashes.

After the doctor gave Ella an injection and fed her a few pills, there was nothing serious to worry about.

But by now Ella had fallen asleep.

Worried about her, Joshua didn't leave her side all night and didn't pay attention to Scarlett.

Early the next morning, Mason came to get Joshua to discuss their business deal.

He saw Scarlett but ignored her.

He was too lazy to bother with that kind of shameless woman who only knew how to throw herself at married men.

Joshua also knew he had more important work to do on this trip.

Seeing that the rashes on Ella's body were gradually disappearing, he felt relieved. He left the room and told Scarlett, "Mason and I are going to work. Don't follow us. Stay here and watch Ella for me. Take care of her if she feels unwell."

Scarlett reluctantly agreed, "Okay, you guys go ahead without worry."

After seeing them out, Scarlett returned to the room and looked at Ella, who hadn't woken up yet. She really wanted to strangle her to death.

If Ella died, no one would compete with her for Joshua.

But if she did it herself, she wouldn't have a good outcome either.

To protect herself, Scarlett could only pay someone else to do it, like last time.

This time, she wouldn't let Ella escape so easily.

Ella woke up in the morning.

Seeing that she was back at the hotel, she struggled to remember what happened last night but couldn't recall anything.

She only vaguely remembered that she kept cursing at someone, calling them an old bastard.

Ella didn't know who she had cursed at. Feeling a bit hungry, she was about to wash up and eat something when the door was suddenly pushed open.

She looked up and saw a strange man sneaking in.

When their eyes met, both were startled.

Ella quickly grabbed the bag next to her and reached inside for the pepper spray Dorian had given her, shouting at the intruder, "Who are you? Get out!"

The man saw there was no one else in the room, just a young girl who looked easy to bully. He smiled lecherously and moved closer to her.

"Don't be afraid. I'm here to love you."

With that, he lunged straight at Ella.

Ella was quick. She immediately pulled out the pepper spray and sprayed it at his eyes.

In just two moves, before the man could get close to Ella, he was covering his eyes and crying out in pain.

Ella took the opportunity to push him away and ran toward the door.

She never expected that Scarlett would be standing guard at the door.

Ella stopped in her tracks and asked in shock, "You arranged this?"

She had long known that Scarlett was vicious and would stop at nothing to achieve her goals.

But she didn't expect her to be bold enough to go this far.

Wasn't she afraid that Joshua and Mason would see her true colors and send her to prison?

Scarlett laughed coldly, holding a dagger in her hand, and actively approached Ella.

"That's right, I arranged it. I didn't expect you to escape so quickly."

Scarlett seemed prepared, deliberately waiting at the door, smiling smugly as she provoked Ella.

"Ella, let me tell you another shocking secret. The accident you and Aurora had last time - I arranged that too."

"And Aiden - I was the one who pulled out his oxygen tube. I'm the one who made him die of anger."
