Chapter 6: CHP.6-Conditions
I limped after the fast walking asshole. His even longer legs making it difficult for me to keep up with him, especially with an injured calf. I tried to map out the house as we walked through it, two left turns, a right, another left, we passed two windows and 8 doors leading into rooms I could not see.
There was also a surprising lack of warriors standing guard through the house. I couldn't even smell any compared to the numerous I had seen when coming in. I wasn't complaining though, made my job easier.
My mind was too busy internally mapping possible escape routes when the asshole came to an immediate stop. To occupied I didn't notice and my nose smacked straight into his back. Pain erupted from it whilst sparks of pleasure spread through it too. It was confusing.
"Mother fucker," I rubbed my nose furiously trying to ease the pain.
He turned around before raising an eyebrow at me and my colourful wording.
"We're here," he opened a door to the left before striding in, again leaving me alone and expecting me to follow. I rolled my eyes and strolled in after him.
The room was white and pristine, a single hospital bed lay in the middle while numerous medical supplies and machinery was dotted around the room. A desk lay to the left, and seated in front of the desk was a rather large man wearing a white coat, the doctor I assumed. His scent was unusual, it was a mixture of scents that was rather off-putting if I was being honest. Then I realised, he must have a mate.
I was too young for my senses to pick up these sort of things when the war started, but now that I had matured, I was slowly understanding more and more.
The doctor spun around, his eyes settling on the asshole first he immediately rose from his chair, standing he reached a height of 6"2, quite small for a fully grown wolf.
"Alpha," he bowed his neck in greeting, showing his submission for the large male in front of me, and there on his neck sat his mark, obviously placed by his mate. I preened inside, I was right in my assumption.
The asshole nodded his head in acknowledgement,
"Doctor Scet, I have a patient I need you to look at." He stepped to the side before indicating towards me. The doctor's mouth dropped open, as if he didn't realise I was in the room till I was literally pointed out. His eyes held the same confusion that I had seen on the Alpha's face when he first realised my gender too.
"Scet, please close your mouth before you swallow something." The asshole commented disdainfully, following the sentence with a roll of his very attractive eyes.
"Of course, sorry Alpha, I just... where did you find her?" The doctor's eyes still remained permanently fixated on me. My patience was wearing thin for this doctor, I released a growl of annoyance towards him, letting him know his stare needs to be moved towards something else.
He quickly refocused his gaze back on the male next to me. My wolf puffed her chest out in my mind, she felt proud he submitted.
That's right, dominance bitch.
"She found us more or less, regardless, I do need your assistance with her calf, she seems to have some sort of difficulty healing it." He nodded towards my calf that had finally stopped oozing blood, but was still torn open.
"Of course, of course please come sit." The Doctor gestured towards the bed before walking to the other side of the room to grab a pair of gloves. I jumped on the bed, making sure to keep the bloodied leg from touching the white linen. The Alpha followed behind me closely, standing to my right, barely keeping from touching the bed, close enough that I could feel the heat emitting from his body. Automatically causing my body to relax slightly and my wolf to purr at the proximity.
I tried to subtly shift away.
The doctor sat on his wheelie chair and glided himself over to our location.
"Okay, since this is the behind of your leg I'm going to have to ask you to lay on your stomach so I can get a proper look." I nodded my head before rolling onto my stomach, placing my face in the pillow. Even if it was a hospital bed. It felt like the comfiest thing in the world, my body begged to go to sleep.
"Alright I'm going to need to touch it to see the full extent of the damage, is that okay Alpha?" I rolled my eyes, he doesn't need permission from the asshole to touch MY leg. I'm assuming he got the approval since I immediately felt his cold hands prodding the area around the tear.
After a few minutes of looking he finally delivered his verdict;
"Okay the wound is quite deep, with complete tearing of the skin and rough jagged tears of the tissues beneath. There are small puncture wounds deeper into the muscle leading me to believe this was a wolf bite correct?" I nodded for confirmation.
"Right, the extensive damage done means it's an avulsion rather than a laceration, luckily enough the wolf that did this has bad aim and managed to miss the circumflex fibular artery, we would've been in trouble if he hit that. It will probably need stitches, and you must try to avoid putting it under strenuous pressure for the next two days." He then got up and walked around the room collecting the necessary equipment, while I raised my head to look at the wolf who did it. His eyes immediately connected with mine and his face remained impassive. I sent him a glare before my head collapsed against the pillow.
Two days was a long time to not put ' strenuous pressure' on it. I had planned on leaving as soon as possible but I would need to wait for my calf to heal before that happened. However, the two days would provide me with enough time where I could gather the necessary information to create the perfect escape plan.
"Alright I'll start the stiches now, I'm going to deliver some local anaesthetic is that okay?" His question was directed at me yet the Alpha answered;
"Yes that's perfect." I rolled my eyes again.
The stitching was done quickly and he wrapped a bandage around my calf to secure it. He gave it a tap to let me know it was done before moving off to clean his equipment.
I rolled over and began to rise from the bed, slowly putting my weight on it to make sure it was fine. Satisfied with the result I turned to the doctor.
"Thank you." He looked at me with surprise. My voice was still rough from the lack of use yet it was soft like melting honey yet had an undertone that suggested my demand for respect. Much like my mothers voice.
"Lets get something to eat." The Alpha's voice distracted me from my inner thoughts and much to my expectance he stormed out the room. Leaving me to follow.
He led me back through the series of rooms and halls that all seemed to blur together to form one big maze, still keeping his insanely fast walking speed. Leaving me to hobble along after him. He finally reached a rather large wooden door that he shoved open, we entered a rather large banquet hall. As expected the room was void of all people and was large in structure, high ceilings created what I expected would be great acoustics. While the room was filled with three excessively large wooden tables lined up in rows that could probably sit around 300 people.
A smaller table sat at the end of the rows whilst being slightly raised off the floor, as if it was looking down on the large tables below it. Giving the impression that whoever sat on it must be of high importance. The alpha walked to one of the larger tables on the floor, before sitting himself down facing towards me. He gestured to the seat in front of him.
I sat down.
A knock came from the door behind me, I immediately swung around to face it. My body going on high alert. Who was he bringing in and why were they here?
"Enter," he growled lowly.
The door swung open, and three well- built teenage boys walked in. All carrying items in their hands. I stared at the items with confusion, while they stared at me with confusion. I couldn't identify what they were carrying before the smell hit me. It was food!
My wolf immediately perked up in my mind. We hadn't eaten properly in a few weeks. A few rabbits here and there but it was autumn, so most of the bigger game seemed to move out from the area with their migration habits. I was actually trying to follow the herds when I stumbled upon this territory.
The plates of food were set down before us along with a water jug and glasses. I eyed the food suspiciously. Shouldn't he be locking me up in some basement instead of feeding me?
He raised his eyebrows in question at my facial expressions before nodding towards the food, as if daring me to eat. I raised my eyebrow back before reaching forward and grabbing a whole plate before dragging it towards me. The scraping of the metal across the wooden table top was the only noise heard throughout the hall. The plate was piled with fresh meat, potatoes, vegetables and bread!
I hadn't eaten bread in four years. I broke a piece off, watching the steam rise off the freshly baked bread before sniffing it. The smell reminded me of the times my mother and sister used to bake fresh pastries in our kitchen on Sunday afternoons. Due to my lack of cooking abilities I would be outside play fighting with my older brother brothers, sometimes in human form other times in wolf form. I used to win but as I got older I realised they were just letting me believe I was better.
His throat clearing pulled me into the present. The present where I was simply staring at the piece of bread in front of me instead of eating. A small blush rose to my cheeks but I cleared my throat and pushed it away. Shoving the bread in my mouth I moaned from the taste. It tasted like home.
I immediately chewed down the rest of the food in a completely un-ladylike manner. My mother would scold me if she were her to witness it. The Alpha waited for me to finish eating what food I could before he began talking.
"Cecil, I think it's time we discussed any arrangements surrounding your future."
My face remained blank of expression as I shrugged off his statement with one of my own;
"I agree, I will leave tomorrow afternoon when my leg is fully healed, with all the belongings I had with me when I arrived and will continue on my journey and be out of your hair." I offered him a tight-lipped smile. To which he didn't return.
"I think you've got it wrong, Cecil. You're not going anyway. Your a female. Which makes you remarkably valuable. And your my mate, which increases that value tenfold. You will stay in this house with me, and should you behave well I will ensure you become properly trained to defend yourself. I cannot have a Luna whose only plan of attack is to run." He returned my tight-lipped smile.
My wolf preened inside my mind at the mention of him announcing us his Luna. She wanted nothing more. I, on the other hand, scowled at him.
"You cannot keep me prisoner, here, I have evaded wolf packs for the past four years for a reason." I snarled at him.
"You really think moving as a lone female wolf is safer than staying with me? Where not only would you have my protection, but the protection of my pack and warriors?" He growled at me, as if I was disrespecting him wanting to leave.
His point was valid. There would be no safer place for me than under the protection of this massive pack. However, he would want things in return. Things I wasn't willing to give this stranger of a wolf. So I would play docile, pretend to agree to his terms and earn his trust for the next few days. And once my leg is healed. I will be out of his hair before he could say 'mate'. So I played my part. I nodded my head as if in understanding.
"Your right. This is the safest place for me. But I will not be spreading my legs for you as you desire. You want a Luna. You earn, a Luna." I could not be too docile, or he would see through my façade and I would never get out of here. He smiled in response, making sure to not show his teeth. His face somehow becoming more handsome from it.
"I would expect nothing less. Now come." He rose from his seat. Walking to a side door behind the large head table and held it open. Waiting for me to walk through. I rose from my seat. Striding over to him and walking through said door.
