Chapter 12: Welcome Home

Dana POV:

I knew Blake was pretty wealthy, and I know that I shouldn’t be surprised at this point, but you know when you expect to see something and when you finally see it, you just cannot believe your eyes? Well, that is exactly how I felt right at this moment. I had already tried envisioning how humongous and absolutely gorgeous his house would be but seeing it for myself actually made me feel really, really poor cause it was way more than I imagined.

The minute I stepped foot into his home and walked through the hallway, I knew my life had most definitely changed for the better. The entire place made me feel like I was in a Cinderella movie but instead of wearing actual glass slippers, I was in fluffy flip flop slippers instead courtesy of Blake. My eyes trail over the black and gold interior of the living room that made the entire room even more luxurious coupled with the black velvet sofas and coffered ceilings. Even the lamps in the living room looked way more expensive than everything I own combined.

"Oh, my goodness, this place is the bomb!" I yell out unconsciously, immediately embarrassed by how excited I sounded.

Blake lets out a light chuckle before replying to me with a grin on his face. "It is? Well, it's good to know you actually like how it looks. I actually thought you might find it a little too dark and masculine," he says, and I scoff.

"Too dark? Hell no! What makes you think I don't like dark living rooms? It's actually way better than living rooms where everything is white and sparkly and shiny to the point where your eyes actually hurt from all the brightness. Thank you for not having typical pretty kid taste in interior design," I reply, although I didn't exactly hate lighter themed atmospheres as much as I exaggerated to him. In fact, I could care less what a living room color theme is as long as it's pretty and welcoming enough, then I'm good.

"Would you prefer a tour around the house first or would you rather I show you to your room so you can relax for a while?" he asks.

"Before I decide, how big is this place? Like how many rooms are we talking about?" I ask curiously.

"Well, it's only a total of four bedrooms downstairs for the staffs around the house and eight other bedrooms upstairs." he replies, and I gasp.

"Eight bedrooms? How many of them do you fucking use? Thought you said you only live with you know who? Or is there someone else that stays with you?" I blurt out and Blake rolls his eyes at me.

"You need to chill out, Dana. Just because I sometimes live alone doesn't mean I can't have numerous bedrooms. It's honestly no big deal, but anyway, here's how it works. Jason and I may share a room sometimes, but he also has his own personal bedroom just like you will. And in addition to the bedrooms, there are other rooms as well. There's a personal study for me, it's upstairs, there's also a library and it's also upstairs, so if perhaps you have any interest in reading anything, trust me, my library has all kinds of books," he says, and I couldn't help but laugh at his last statement.

"You don't have to bother telling me that pretty boy. Reading is most definitely not my thing except you have erotic novels then I'll most definitely consider checking it out," I reply, and he chuckles.

"Like I said, it has everything, erotic novels included. Anyways, as I was saying, there's also a gym in case you want to work out, it's downstairs and there's a game room as well and an art studio, both are upstairs," he adds. I'm honestly not surprised by a few of the things he mentioned.

"You're into art?" I ask curiously because I don't see him as someone who even knows how to lift a freaking brush.

"Oh no, dear, it definitely isn’t for me. Jason owns the room. He's an artist," he tells me, and I simply nod.

"That's pretty dope though. I think artists are pretty admirable. Let me guess, the game room is yours?" I ask and he fakes a gasp.

"How'd you guess?" he asks, and I chuckle at how obvious he is.

"So, what are we going with? Your room or a house tour?" he asks.

"I think I'd prefer the option that involves me ending up in a bed. I honestly don't see myself walking around in this dress and with this much makeup still on my face, but may I ask why the house feels so empty? Is no one else home?" I ask, wondering why the entire place felt kind of lifeless.

"I actually asked the staffs to take the rest of the day off after the wedding because I didn't think we'd be needing them anytime soon except maybe for dinner which I assume is already settled but they will be back tomorrow morning anyways and I'll get them to familiarize themselves with you," he explains, and I let out a thankful sigh. Heaven knows I wasn't the least bit ready to be introduced as the lady of the house because I have no idea how I'm supposed to react to them or what I'd even say to them.

"Oh, that reminds me, and I hope you don't mind me asking, but is the staff aware of your relationship with Jason? I'm only asking so I know how to act around them, so things don't seem weird," I say to him, hoping my question doesn't seem too offensive or too pushy.

"You really should stop making such nervous faces when you ask questions about Jason and I. You have every right to know these things, so feel free to ask any questions. To answer your question, only two of the staff members are aware. I will point them out to you tomorrow, but the rest of them aren't aware because I don't want that many people in my business. Any more questions?" he asks. I shake my head.

"Nah, I'm good now. You can take me to my room!" I squeal excitedly in a childlike voice, and he rolls his eyes at me before leading me upstairs. He points out the few rooms we walked by, and I even stop quickly to peek into a few of them although I couldn't peek for long since he wasn't exactly the most patient person on earth.

"So…What do you think? You like it?" Blake asks as soon as he opens the door to my room and step in and my jaw drops immediately.

"Do you not like it? Is it not too your taste? Since I didn't exactly know your style, I went with my instincts and asked for your room to be designed this way but if you don't like it, I'll get them to redecorate it to your taste as soon as possible," he blurts out of nowhere and I mentally roll my eyes at how dramatic he was being. I haven't even said a word yet and he's already apologizing.

I gesture for him to shush and slowly start to rake my eyes and boy oh boy must I say that everything about this room was absolutely perfect for me. I would have never even dreamed of ever being in such a room that was almost five times my previous room. Starting from the first thing that actually caught my attention which was the gray and silver color theme that felt very soothing and comforting, to the silvery gray carpet that made me want to walk around bare feet and finally the huge bed that was literally yelling for me to lie on it.

"Aren't you gonna say anything?" Blake asks, snapping me out of my temporary daze.

"You're still in here? Thought you'd be on you way out already? I need to take a shower pretty boy and you can't be here to witness that!" I hiss at him, and his expression immediately switches from confused to surprised then back to confused all in the space of ten seconds.

"You still haven't answered me though, do you like your room or not?" he asks, sounding a little frustrated.

"Of course, I like it silly! What's there not to like about it? By the way, aren't you tired of being on your feet? Wouldn't you want to get some rest before you know who shows up and then you can both enjoy our wedding night? I mean, one of us has to get laid so today doesn't end up going to waste," I say to him teasingly and he scowls at me.

"Have you always been this weird or did I just fail to notice? You know what, ignore that, I'm leaving because I actually need to get some rest cause you and I are gonna be having a long day tomorrow," he tells me before immediately turning his back to leave but I'm quick to halt him.

"A long day? Me too? What for though?" I ask, not exactly liking the idea of having a long day especially after a day like this.

"You'll find out when it's dinner time Dana. For now, just get some rest. I'll come get you when it's dinner time," he replies tiredly before turning his back to leave and I watch him walk out of the room with my eyes squinted and my curiosity peaked.

"I wonder what he's going on about," I mutter to myself as soon as he leaves before paying attention back to my room and struggling to get out of this horribly uncomfortable dress.
