"The funniest one would be when I started my channel and uploaded my first video. I was so panicked over it, yet excited.
I wanna know how it will be received, and at the same time, I was worried about the backlash of posting such adult rated content.
A part of me, however, felt like a celebrity already. I could imagine breaking the wall of my self-isolation and stepping outside. Imagined people lined up to get my autograph." Nima paused and laughed at her own mindset back then.
"So what happened?" Joel asked with a big smile on his face, pleased at how Nima was being so open and comfortable with him.
"Well, Emily came over to inquire about my progress on the filming. I expressed my expectations and imaginations.
Then I noticed the awkward look on her face. I love my friend so much, but I'm the type that jumps to conclusions so fast in my head.
I suddenly had the feeling that she's jealous of the fame in front of me." Nima covered her face in embarrassment while Joel couldn't control his laughter.
"Sorry, please go on." He urged but still chuckled.
"Suck that up if you wanna listen to the end." Nima pouted.
With both hands raised in a surrendering gesture, "please go on, my lady." Joel said, then pressed his lips together, faking a serious expression.
Nima rolled her eyes.
"You know, this is more embarrassing than funny. I was at first infatuated with viewing my own video and YouTube at least 3 times a day. When I checked the next day, I noticed the view count rose to 3, then 6, then 9 the following day.
I felt at least 3 people view my video every day. I was so happy. I felt so important and shared my success with Emily, who still had this look of holding back her thoughts around me.
I started to wonder what was up with her. I confronted her one day and asked if she wasn't happy with me.
It has been a month, and my video has generated more than a hundred views. No comments, though, which is why I didn't upload another, as I wish to teach what my audience requested.
Emily was shocked by my accusations and then broke it to me harshly that my expectations were too high for a beginner that she feared for my heart when I realized online success doesn't come that fast.
Also that my audience would be limited due to the nature of my project. Also, I'm dealing with women, who probably have insecurities and some being full housewives.
She claimed it would take time to grow my page.
I still didn't believe her and showed her how many views the video had generated.
She asked me how many times I've watched the video myself, and then it dawned on me.
"Do they count the creator's view as well? I had asked with a pale face." Nima giggled, and Joel joined in with his ears and nose red from holding back his laughter.
"And then I made a quick calculation in my head and realized I owned 92 views from the hundred and two views.
'At least, ten people viewed It'
I was dejected, and you know what Emily said?" Nima asked Joel with a chuckle.
"What?" Joel asked.
Nima mimicked Emily's voice and facial expression when speaking. "Babe, I watched it 11 times to support you. You definitely viewed it 91 times, not 92. I soon got tired of watching you suckling on dildo, so I gave up."
Oh my god!" Joel burst into laughter, and Nima joined in.
"My god! You should see my expression on that day." Nima said in between laughter, both their eyes glistening with tears from all the laughing.
"I can imagine. That was so funny and sad at the same time. I'm glad you've made your channel so big. I wouldn't dare to laugh like this if you haven't." Joel said.
"You wouldn't dare. I will cry and make you take back the laughter." Nima gave him a stern look.
"I'd probably give all the female employees in my company a raise to go support you. I wouldn't want my angel to cry unless it's cries of pleasure." Joel said, and Nima shook her head at him.
"You're unbelievable." She said,
"That's a new word. You and my PA should collaborate and make a dictionary for me." Joel said shamelessly.
With the mood so elevated, Nima requested that Joel should share an embarrassing moment with her.
"You couldn't wait to laugh back at me, right?"
Nima energetically nodded.
"Okay. let me find you a good one." Joel said, but the sound of a food trolley coming towards them made him halt.
"Well, it seems the laughter will come after feeding." Joel said and noticed Nima's discomfort when the server got near.
'Hmm. It seems she's uncomfortable with strangers.' He thought
