Chapter 8
His mother, Vinicius's, pounded forcefully on the door, interrupting the two.
"When you're done getting ready, see if you can remove those sawhorses in the gym, damn it. Damn, is this my life now? Am I a slave?"
He looked at Lumíria after glancing the door and laughed when he saw Lumíria's frightened expression upon hearing that morning's thick voice of hatred.
"Amapaense mothers scare me," she said, holding onto his arms, trembling.
Vinicius burst into laughter. But she covered his mouth when she heard more strong knocks on the door, more like punches of revolt.
Lumíria then fell silent with him, walking backward until she fell onto the bed, leaving Vinicius without a response.
She nodded and crawled uncomfortably out of bed, grabbing a bag with her clothes on the way.
The smell of the recently used bathroom made her imagine Vinicius's body soaping up and clean. How great it was to be under that water to relieve the weight of her thoughts. How good human shower baths were, as if purifying oneself in an automatic rain, unlike the bathtubs in the upper world used for demons to bathe.
She lifted her face a little more to feel the water falling on her and giving that feeling of relief. A feeling so surrendered, with such flowing thoughts that, for a moment, something intrusive invaded. I want Vinicius Sabino naked near me.
For the first time in her life, in the real world, she desired a man for days, uncontrollably and that wouldn't leave her mind.
What would her colleagues think of this? Nothing was mentioned to them about it, except using them.
Simply suck their energy and use them. But Vinicius, his intentions, his behavior towards her seemed to have given her body some kind of training.
She suddenly opened her eyes.
Would she be making a mistake by letting this go on? Could it cause problems with the upper world?
She never asked what kind of woman he liked, it was a very difficult thing to know, but the way he asked if she wanted to go out with him was because he seemed to be holding back some desire for a while, and that confused her too much.
On her first visit to him, he treated her as a repugnant being, but after entering his game, eliciting a few mere smiles, Vinicius seemed to have seen something in her.
People see things, humans see many things. This reminded her of the aptitude test in her world, the look of people waiting for the delivery of their work, something was missing, something she saw in the eyes of humans.
She took some soap, letting it glide smoothly over her body, like many creatures in her sensual world. For a moment, guiding the slippery object, a masculine sensation enveloped her, leading her to act instinctively and explore more delicate areas, from the breasts to the belly and finally reaching the most intimate parts. The intensity of the warmth became irresistible, and a soft sigh escaped her lips. Her heart raced again, fueled by the imagination of Vinicius Sabino's long, skillful fingers.
"I've put away your things." He knocked on the door, startling her.
"Alright," she replied, awakening from the erotic reverie.
After quickly dressing in ordinary clothes, jeans, and a sleeveless red shirt, she left the bathroom drying her hair, which was the first thing he saw, staring at her for a few seconds paralyzed, then turning red.
He was dressed and eating, sitting on a stool in front of his own desk. She sat on the bed finishing drying her hair.
After he put on a white linen shirt and dark jeans, she couldn't stop staring at his wet hair going in all directions and falling on his forehead, something Greek emanated from him.
He seemed to eat in silence and solitude, with some hesitant thought in his head. In the corner of his mouth, it was merely stained and somewhat white.
Lumiria leaned in to get a better look at him, and when he noticed, with cheeks full of bread, he stared curiously and shyly.
"Is everything okay?" she asked.
"Uh-huh," he replied, avoiding eye contact.
"By the way, I really need to know if I can gain your energy. You don't necessarily have to let me touch you so much, as you insist, I can draw it from your unconscious."
He took a huge sip of coffee, still staring at the floor, completely ignoring her question.
"What are you doing this weekend?" he blurted out.
She blinked, not understanding why he ignored her request and threw that question, until finally, trying to connect all the dots, she realized.
He looks handsome, shy, with flushed cheeks, and asking about the weekend.
He wants to ask her out.
Before losing her virginity.
Because he's scared.
My god. This is too much pressure.
If it were the first day, she would do it without hesitation, as many times, because there didn't even need to be physical contact, it was more an illusion while sweating energy with the trident, but the involvement with him was already making her nervous.
"Are you going out?" she asked, due to his very well dresses appearance.
"I'm going to church," he replied.
She nodded.
"I didn't know you were religious."
"Yeah," he answered quietly. "I am."
Damn, why is he so shy and nervous?
She took a deep breath, affirming to herself that he wasn't going to hunt her or anything after putting on that show for his own mother.
He swallowed hard.
"You didn't answer me."
"What?"
He squeezed his pants' knee, his expressions trying to contain himself as much as possible.
"Are we going out?"
"If that's your condition, okay."
He looked her in the eyes, something strong emanating, as if shooting fire at her.
"I give you my word."
Damn, she thought. It's like he made the hardest decision of his life.
He nodded, wiping his hands of crumbs and stood up.
"Let's take advantage of my mom being out to walk you to the door."
"Okay."
He went ahead, and she took the opportunity that he left a piece of bread and took quick, devilish bites, finishing the remaining coffee.
Both walked in silence through the small corridor beside the house that led to the gate. As they walked slowly and thoughtfully, she glanced through her lashes, and he looked from the corner of his eyes too. She smiled, and his lips twisted slightly, maybe it was a ghost of a smile.
The landscape around and beyond the wooden fences was full of large buriti trees, and in the direction they were heading, at the gate, it led directly to a street that turned into main roads and busy avenues.
When they reached the gate, she waited for him to open it, but he seemed to have frozen right there. They were alone. She knew that when demons arrived, the presence was different, the air was different, the lights got darker. But for the first time, what she felt there wasn't through higher forces, but an energy, within a human range. She realized this even more when he lifted his fingers to touch the lock, and he stopped there, as if he were just caressing them. The atmosphere changed quickly, a flow of electrical charge spreading through their bodies. Her breath was eager, and her heart pumped harder. In that same position, Vinicius turned his face with suspense towards her, his breath shaky, his eyes dilated. He swallowed hard.
"Oh, screw all of this"
And she was brutally attacked by a wild man out of controll.
