Chapter 10: Chapter Ten

"I will have her home in a few minutes dude. Just calm down."

Keaton hangs up on Evan and flops back on the bed next to me, rolling his eyes. Keaton looks over at me and smiles. "I guess I better take you home. If I don't do it soon your brother will be over here looking for you."

I laugh. "Yeah, he would have a cow if he saw us like this."

Keaton laughs, he rubs my cheek once and gets out of bed. "Let's get dressed and I will take you home."

I nod my head and climb out of bed, bending down to grab my pile of clothes. I slip my pants on under Keaton's shirt and turn around to see Keaton watching me.

He has his pants back on, but he doesn't have a shirt on. Why does he have to look so good? All muscle and tanned skin. I reach for the hem of his shirt and go to turn back around so I can put my shirt on.

"Leave it on." Keaton says, giving me a playful smile. "It looks better on you than it does on me."

I feel my cheeks heat up and I smile. "Thanks." I say and I watch as he pulls a shirt on, covering his perfectly sculpted abs.

Keaton grabs his keys and phone. He walks over to his door and I follow close behind him, almost slamming into his back when he comes to a sudden stop. He turns around and looks at me.

"What's wrong?" I ask looking up at him.

"Nothing, I just wanted to do this one last time." Keaton puts a hand on my cheek and the other one on my waist. He leans down pressing his lips against mine and I gasp, surprised.

Keaton takes the opportunity to thrust his tongue in my mouth swirling it around mine. I put my hands on his biceps to steady myself. This all feels so surreal. Keaton kissed me, not just once but twice.

Keaton pulls away grabbing my hand in his. "Come on, we can go now." He winks and I follow behind him. My feet move on their own. I feel like I'm in heaven. Maybe things will finally change for me.

We make our way through his house and thank goodness we don't run into his parents, because that would be awkward. Keaton opens the car door for me and I slide in to the seat. Keaton gets in the driver side, smiling at me as he backs out of his driveway.

My mind wanders the whole drive to my house. What does all of this mean? He kissed me, not once but twice. He held me, knowing it was me and what now. What happens now. It's not like he is just going to leave Sapphire, the most popular girl in school for me, the girl that nobody likes.

We pull up outside my house and there's my brother standing on the porch with his arms crossed over his chest. He looks like someone on patrol or something. Why is he waiting outside?

Keaton laughs. "I think your brother was getting ready to search for you."

I roll my eyes. "He acts like he's my father or something."

Keaton laughs. "Yeah, but it's just because he loves you. Come on. I'm gonna go say hey."

I open my door and get out of the car, hoping Evan won't notice me wearing Keaton's shirt. I should have known better though. He rushes off the porch the second he sees my clothes. "Why are you wearing his shirt?" He asks, eyes narrowed looking like he is about to punch Keaton.

I'm not very good at lying to my brother, never have been, so I am very thankful Keaton steps in to answer. "I let her borrow a shirt and some sweatpants to sleep in last night."

Evan looks at me and I nod my head. "Yeah, I didn't want to sleep in the clothes I wore to the party. So he let me borrow some clothes."

Evan stares at me for a minute deciding whether or not to believe us and then nods his head. "That better have been all it was."

"It was." I say giving him my most innocent smile.

Evan smiles at me and then turns to Keaton punching him on the arm. "What the hell was that for?" Keaton asks, grabbing the spot Evan punched.

"What took you guys so damn long to get here? I was fixing to come to your house." Evan says pointing a finger at him angrily.

Keaton laughs. "I was sleeping when you called me, I didn't feel like getting out of bed yet. In fact I was still trying to sleep when you called the second time, but I figured you would just keep calling if I didn't bring her home. So, here we are."

Evan laughs. "You're lucky I didn't have to come over there, you wouldn't have liked me very much."

I roll my eyes. "You are just to protective over me." I pat Evan on the shoulder as I walk past him, heading inside.

"Thank you for the ride Keaton." I say trying to sound casual.

"No problem Erin." He says and I practically run inside.

Keaton and Evan are only a few steps behind me. I hear them come inside the house when I am about half way up the stairs. I can hear them talking about the party last night and how crazy things got when the cops showed up.

I should still be pissed at Evan for disappearing on me like that, but if he hadn't left me I wouldn't have had the most amazing night and morning of my entire life. I smile to myself as I think back to everything that happened, especially the kiss.

Just as my foot hits the top step my whole world is shattered. "Dude, I'm serious Erin better have been sleeping on your couch, I know how you are and what you think about all the time." I hear my brother say.

"Evan seriously dude, why would I mess around with your sister when the hottest girl in school is my girlfriend. I mean no offense to Erin or anything, but she's not really my type. She's got a little too much meat on her bones for me." Keaton says laughing.
