Chapter 8 First time with a man

Chapter 8 First time with a man
Seven years ago:

HIGH SCHOOL

Lydia's Point of View:

I felt his hot breath on my neck, and his chest softened against my back as if he’d finally stopped fighting whatever was going on inside him. My hands shivered as I felt his broad shoulders hugging my tiny body, and the corner of his lips curled in amusement.

For a moment, neither of us said anything. And the only sound was that of my laboured breath. I felt like a bird trapped in-between her master's broad palm.

Justin's eyes were fixed on me, and we stood in that position for what felt like hours. No one knew we were hiding in the locker room, and the students went about their day like nothing serious was happening.

“Justin, what are you -”

Justin put his index finger on my lips before I could complete my sentence. “If you talk too much, I'll come out and inform everyone that you're stalking my sister and her boyfriend,” he threatened in a whisper, and I immediately went mute.

Now, you might be wondering how I got caught up in this uncomfortable situation. Well, it’s simple, my legs brought me here. If only I had learnt to mind my business, Justin wouldn't have walked in on my spying on Harridan. I knew it was wrong, but for months, whenever Harridan ignores me or pays more attention to Amby, I enter the locker room with my camera lens, and I watch them in secret. The camera can see a 360⁰ rotation, so getting caught has never been a problem ... .until now.

This was the first time I had been so close to a man, and my thigh became wet, maybe from sweating or nervousness. After Justin caught me, I wanted to come out, but he threatened to expose me for stalking, and I had no other choice but to stay still and obey him.

Justin opened his mouth, his warm breath refreshing my face. “Why are you acting shy? Is this your first time beside a man?” He asked with a teasing smile.

I knew he was expecting me to say no, but how was I supposed to say no when this was in fact my first private meeting with a man? His steady breath kept making my heart race, but I assured myself that he was annoying while Harridan was perfect.

During my struggle to stop his charm from getting to me, our eyes locked, and Justin stared at me with an unsettling gaze. I tried not to, but I ended up staring back, and I can't properly explain it, but there was an undeniable pull between us. The pull was so strong that I involuntarily opened my lips, while Justin stared at them.

Our lips were almost touching, when Justin suddenly broke the pull.

“Are you trying to seduce me, little kitty? You need better cream for your acne,” he said with a smug, and my face drained up. My cheeks were red, and I turned my head to the other side of the locker room, so that he wouldn't see how flustered I was.

“You are using your bewitching spell on me, aren't you?” I stuttered, my fingers shaking anxiously.

Justin scoffed. “I'm a wolf, kitty, not a witch. Where did you expect me to get a bewitching spell? Also, it's okay to say that you're captivated by my charm. Maybe you're no longer interested in Harridan, it's time to let go of your unrequited love,” he sang his usual anthem, and this angered me, because it's one thing to have a crush on a guy, it's another to get slut-shame for it.

“You're not my type, so stop dreaming,” I stammered, even though I knew it was gibberish. Justin was the hottest and richest boy in school, he could have anyone he wanted, and it was certainly not me.

Justin didn't comment on my words. But it even seemed to have gotten to him because he pulled his hands away from my waist, and the smirk on his face turned to a deep frown.

“Stop embarrassing yourselves, Harridan will never see you the way you want. You might be poor and wolfless, but you can still attract a guy who will value you,” Justin advised after a momentary silence, but I wasn't able to see his face because he was not looking at me.

“Did Justin Magnus, soon to be Alpha, just compliment me?” I asked with a sarcastic voice, trying to clear the awkwardness. “You've always called me ugly, so what's the sudden change of heart?” I asked with a grimace.

Justin didn't reply, he peed through a tiny hole in the locker room to see if anyone was still in the classroom. Satisfied with the results, he turned to me.

“You're not ugly, and I am not the annoying prick you think I am,” he informed me with an unreadable gaze and left the locker room. The way his eyes had lingered on me left me speechless, and I clenched the edge of my gown, my heart racing.

“This is not normal! He is using a spell on me! He is bewitching me!” I assured myself multiple times, till my heart stopped banging, and I calmed down.

———

“Lydia, where have you been? I've been searching for you,” Harridan's gentle voice echoed in my head, as I entered the classroom. Justin was seated in the last seat beside the window, and although girls surrounded him, his eyes seemed to be fixed on me.

Amby, Janet, and some other students were seated in the corner of the classroom, talking about the latest fashion design, but as soon as Harridan called my name, she gave me a death stare.

On a normal day, I would shiver and shy away from Harridan, but today I needed someone or something to assure me that Justin was bewitching me, and I had to stop thinking about him, so I ignored Amby and answered Harridan.

“You've been looking for me?” I asked him with a smile, my fingers directed towards me, and Harridan nodded.

“Of course, Lydia,” he said, and I froze. This was the first time in a long while that he had the time to talk to me.

“Have you done your essay assignment? Amby and I would like to copy your note,” Harridan said, and my smile dropped.

“Oh…right, your Amby,” I stuttered, and my disappointment was written all over my face.

Amby giggled at me from her seat, while Justin kept looking at me with a plain face.

My heart sank to the bottom, and once again, I knew that Justin was right. “Harridan will never see me the way I want him to. I'm just an errand girl to him.
