Sam leads me out to the balcony. The full moon bathes us in its luminous serendipity. He has set up a little picnic under the stars. For a bit we sit and enjoy the dinner date by taking turns feeding each other. It's a bit of normalcy in this strange world we live in. It makes me a bit nostalgic back when
I thought I was human. This doesn't feel alien or as if I'm at the mercy of this irresistible invisible force.
Sam takes my hands in his, “I thought we could enjoy this before…”
“We go stark-raving mad,” I insert with a laugh.
After we share a laugh, I ask, “You think it will always be this intense?”
He shrugs, “Only for the next 30 years or so.”
I roll my eyes as I scoff, “Only!”
“If we were both normal wolves, the intensity lessons as the likelihood for pups lessons,” he explains.
“Similar to most humans,” I say.
He nods, “Yes, just a far longer timeframe. But with you being you, who knows.”
I tilt my head at him, “Says the flying wolf.”
We laugh because let's face it, what else can we do but laugh? None of us know what we are doing as we have never felt bound to anyone before.
He looks into my eyes, “You know even if you were just a human you're still different from any I've ever met. I'm proud that you are my mate.”
“Why?”
He strokes my hair as he speaks softly, “You are in control of your emotions, you act strategically, you adapt but don't break, you value others, and you have an odd sense of humor which I adore. Also, you are not caught up on appearances but instead focus on what they are masking.”
I'm not that special, I just learned from my life, “I have to be all of those things or else l'd have given up long ago. Being an orphan was hard.”
He shakes his head, “I don't think your childhood had as much impact as you are giving it. Yes, it has some influence but it wasn't the driving force. You have this need for justice. You want balance and you want people to face consequences. You could've killed that trucker instead you let him face a jury. Yes, you killed those ghouls but they shouldn't have existed as they were horrible people to begin with. You ended up this way because you are who you were meant to be all along.”
I tease him, “You sound like Gran.”
He chuckles, “I'll take that as a compliment. While I was away, I caught a few leads. Your traits signal that you could be a descendant of the gods. What ones or angels I have no clue. There's so much we don't know and I combed through everything that I could.”
We feel that pull just as we were attempting to narrow down what I could be and maybe find an answer to why I have multiple mates. But all of that will have to wait because the haze is peaking. Our eyes now reflect a swirling chasm of desire and primal lust.
We collapse into each other. We kiss and nip at each other. His firm grip anchors me. I help him remove my clothes and his. We are naked beneath the cosmos. In the past l'd feel self-conscious and try to hide myself, but I don't. I feel beautiful and desired. I feel at home.
With our need for one another at an all-time all time high, we finally join. He thrusts himself into me. We cry out with pleasure. I roll so that I'm on top of him. With one hand he rolls his thumb over my pert nipple, and with the other he massages my clit.
I moan because he is doing what I need. During sex the mindlink is a real asset as it lets us share our needs and desires freely. We can truly live in the moment. For once I'm thankful I'm not human. But what am I?
I ride him like he's a prized stallion. I dig my claws into his firm chest as I tumble over the edge. I clench with all my might and he releases as well. We howl each other's names as our climax hits its peak. I shudder and collapse into him.
He kisses me as he strokes my hair, “I'm glad I found you. I now know what I was missing.”
I smirk, “A woman who both challenges and annoys you.”
He chuckles as he shakes his head, “No, my life partner.”
I giggle, “That too.”
We both laugh at our realizations. We eat a bit more and then head inside. During that time Katie and Steven went to bed. Steven shifted back to human form not long after coming inside according to what Vincent and Eric told us.
We all sat and talked a bit. I shared my plan of using songs to keep Vlad out of our heads. Vincent made me promise not to use Macarena ever again. I promised as I have way worse planned. Vincent keeps looking at me. I know he wants to know but I'm gonna let it be a surprise.
Vincent keeps eyeing me so I shake my head, “I am so not telling you.”
“A hint then?” he asks.
I sigh, “Fine, just one hint. It’s a song from the early 1990s.”
He annoyedly says, “There were a ton between 1990-1995!”
I grin, “Good luck, love!”
He shakes his head, “You purposely set out to drive me nuts daily, don't you?”
I shrug, “Maybe.”
Vincent begs, “At least tell me if the singer is male or female or a band.”
I smirk, “Nope, you got your only hint.”
In an effort to bait me, he smugly says, “Well the vampires he wants back used to do that to keep him and his friends out of her head. He might've heard it already.”
I giggle, “Oh I'm guessing not. Something tells me that I'm far more brazen than her. Plus I for one would've killed a witch on sight if they posed a threat. But I can sense everything's emotions so it makes it easier.”
“Even when you thought you were human too,” Eric adds.
“Yep, refer to it as my gut instinct. It's stronger now as I don't have to be in the same room as the person or animal,” I say.
Vincent smirks as he chuckles, “Now that will come in very handy. Could you determine how many is in a room based on those feelings?”
I grin, “Yep. Like right now I can tell you that Katie and Steven aren't sleeping and I don't even have to try and use my
vampiric hearing to eavesdrop.”
Sam cringes, “I didn't need to know that.”
I laugh as I recall all of the times Katie heard me, “Oh I'm sure they heard you anyways.”
Vincent shakes his head, “Katie hears everything.”
“When it either concerns her or she makes it her concern,” I say.
Eric chuckles, “So we noticed.”
We all laugh at the absurdity of it all. Vincent extends his hand and I take it, “My dear, come with me.”
He leads me up to the attic. I give him a look before he opens the door, “Be patient and no prying.”
He opens the door as daylight begins to trickle in on my new home office. He designed this space just for me. It is light, airy and beautiful. I spin and kiss him, “Wow, it is beautiful. Thank you.”
He smiles softly as if this wasn't an effort for him. “I thought you deserved somewhere to create that wasn't your bed or your lap,” he says.
Overcome with emotion, I grab him by his shirt and pull him into a hug and a kiss, “No, really thank you! No one has ever done anything like this for me!”
He kissed my forehead, “Well all of that has changed and is changing. You deserve to be treated right, Eva.”
Confused, I say, “But I didn't see this when I saw that you moved my things in.”
He smirks, “Good because I tried like hell to not think about it. I wanted it all to be a surprise for you, but I knew you'd pick up on some of it. Eva, this is your home.”
“Our home.”
He smiles as his eyes twinkle. As sexy as his smirk is, I love it when he smiles. I kissed him. It just radiates with pure love. He's mine and I'm his. No games, no lies, and no shame we are bound.
He takes my hand and kisses it, “Let's get a few hours of rest, my love.”
I smile, “Lead the way.”
We arrive in our bedroom and undress one another. We crawl under the sheets and hold each other close. We lay facing each other, my arm over his waist. His hand caressed my cheek, “I love you, Eva.”
I hum as I smile, “I love you too, Vincent.”
We kiss. It's tender and passionate. Perfect between two lovers, just effortless and blissful. I'm truly home. I am who and whatever I am, and I have absolutely no doubts that this is where I'm meant to be. I've found my love and my life for eternity.
We made love and kept the haze at bay for at least a few orgasms until it consumed us. Our minds lost control and our bodies took over. After about an hour of being crazed by the haze, we got a quick shower and then cuddled up for a bit of rest.
A part of me was thankful that the first night of the full moon haze was coming to an end. I needed a few hours to rest, that's for sure. It was nice getting to spend time with each of them. I have a feeling though that this was just the eye of the hurricane that is the haze.
