Chapter 51 51

Chapter 51 51
CHAPTER FIFTY ONE

AURORA'S P.O.V

Lucian winced then snapped his jaw at Alpha Desmond while praying away his leg that had been in his mouth.

I couldn't breathe, my heart was racing with fear as I watched Lucian and Alpha Desmond stare at each other. The air was thick with tension, the only sound being the snarling and growling of the two wolves.

"No, no, no...this can't be happening."

Eleanor's voice shook as she murmured, her eyes fixed on the fight unfolding before us with a pale face. She placed her hand on the wall while her legs shook.

I rushed over to her and grabbed her hand, trying to reassure her, but she was trembling, her eyes filled with fear. Even as I opened my mouth to say something, nothing could come to my head. I could only swallow helplessly as I felt a lump form in my throat as I watched Lucian and Alpha Desmond circle each other, their eyes locked in a fierce stare.

The two wolves were evenly matched, their muscles rippling beneath their fur as they moved.

Alpha Desmond was larger and more intimidating, almost like a berserker wolf. His fur coat was a mix of different shades of black, foreboding black, while Lucian was a bit leaner with muscles, his fur a much more darker shade of black.

After circling each other for a while, Lucian limping the fight began with a burst of speed, the two wolves colliding in a flurry of fur and claws. Alpha Desmond's jaws snapped shut, mere inches from Lucian's throat, but Lucian dodged to the side, his own jaws closing around Alpha Desmond's leg.

I almost whooped in joy when Alpha Desmond yelled in pain, but he quickly recovered, his claws swiping at Lucian's face. Lucian jumped back, his eyes flashing with anger, and the two wolves began to circle each other once more.

"Someone should stop them..anyone...please..." Eleanor whimpered.

By now, the once empty corridor was filled with curious pack staffs and members whose faces were white with horror as they watched the fight.

The air was filled with the sound of growling and snarling, the two wolves moving with a speed and agility that was almost supernatural. They clashed again, their bodies crashing together in a flurry of fur and claws.

"Oh no...Lucian..."

I winced as Alpha Desmond landed a blow, Lucian's wolf form yelled in pain. Alpha Desmond howled in triumph over Lucian's crouched form. I watched, my lips almost bleeding from too much biting. But then suddenly, Lucian growled

and sprang up to his feet. Alpha Desmond tried to swipe at him with his paws but he quickly retaliated and snapped, his jaws, quickly closing it around Alpha Desmond's throat, refusing to let go.

Eleanor's grip on my hand tightened, her eyes wide with horror. "Lucian, no...please, no..."

I felt a cold sweat break out on my forehead as I watched as Alpha Desmond struggle viciously to get out from his grip but Lucian wouldn't relent. I could see the years of hatred for him in his eyes as he pressed downn more on his neck. Until finally, his body went limp, I watched as his wolf form collapsed to the ground. Lucian stood over him, his chest heaving, his eyes wild and feral.

For a moment, there was silence, the only sound being the heavy breathing of the two wolves. And then, Lucian's wolf form stumbled, his legs giving out beneath him. He collapsed to the ground, a pool of blood spreading beneath him.

Eleanor's scream echoed through the night, my scream following after hers as we both rushed to his side.

She placed her hand on his wounded body, his black fur hid the sight of how much blood he lost but we could tell... Because as soon as we touched his coat, our hands came back with thick, warm blood.

Eleanor cried out again, her body shaking with sobs. "Lucian! Oh, Lucian!"

A sob broke out from my lips, my heart racing with fear. "Lucian, no...please, no..." I raised my head while cradling his head on my lap. "A doctor! We need to get him to the hospital....please...help!"

That seemed to rouse the men out as they immediately rushed over to us and carried Lucian with them.

"Don't worry Luna, he'll be fine.", one of them promised, she nodded shakily, trying to sniff in the mucus running down her now red nose.

"My son...my son..."

She followed them out, her hands and clothes stained with blood, I'm guessing it was the same for me too.

Just then, Griffin and Talia burst into the corridor, their faces filled with concern. Talia's eyes were wide with shock as she saw the scene. She quickly rushed over to me.

"What happened?"

Griffin asked, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the area, then his eyes widened immediately he saw Alpha Desmond's limp body with his closed eyes and opened mouth. He had shifted back to his human form.

"Is that...? Is he...?" He whispered while pointing and looking at me.

"I...I don't know...they had a big fight...and...and now Lucian is injured...seriously injured..." I sobbed out while squeezing my hands together.

Griffin walked towards his body and checked his pulse while Talia pulled me into her in a tight hug.

"Its alright, he'll be fine. Lucian is a strong guy."
A moment later, he was shaking his head as he stood up, coming to our side.

"He's dead."

"Oh no" I muttered as i closed my eyes in a wall.
"Its all because of me." I sobbed out, "If I hadn't been his mate, maybe this wouldn't have happened. Its all my fault."

Talia shook my body, bringing my face to stare into her hard eyes that shimmered with unshed tears.

"Listen to me, its not your fault. None of this is your fault, you hear me? Everything happened for a reason and Alpha Desmond just decided that he was going to hate you. Am I clear? You are not to blame for this. If I hear you say that one more time, I'm going to make you that horrible soup I always make when you're sick and get you drink it for eternity."

A chuckle burst out of my lips as I nodded at her, resting my head on her shoulders.

"I'm sorry..."

We made our way to the hospital where we saw Eleanor and the other pack members waiting in the reception room. She was pacing up and down, her hands constant tugging her hair as she bit her lips. I walked towards her

"Eleanor..."

"Aurora?" she looked startled to see me and immediately scanned my body with her eyes as she held my hands. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

"No, I'm fine. How about you?"

"I'm...waiting.." She whispered, looking once more at the theater door.

"Its okay ma'am, everything is going to be alright." Talia consoled from behind.

"I know Lucian, and he doesn't give up without a fight." Griffin seconded, his eyes misty.

I could imagine how scared he was, his best friend was hanging by a thread while he was out here, unable to do anything.

Eleanor looked at them, her eyes filled with tears. "Thank you, Griffin and young lady...thank you for being here..."

Suddenly the theater door opened and the doctor emerged from the hospital room, his expression grim. My stomach became cold as soon as I saw him, Eleanor rushed towards him, her face earnest as she stared up at him.

"How is my son? Where is he? Please tell me he's alive!" She pleaded.

The doctor bit his lips
"Don't tell me..." I began in a trembling voice.

Griffin was about to head into Lucian's ward but the doctor stopped.

"I'm sorry to say this but...due to the security of his injuries that were caused by Alpha Desmond..."

"Yes... Speak doctor or I will go in there and find out myself!", I yelled at him.

He sighed and nodded, his eyes glancing away from us.

"I'm afraid your son is..."
