CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-THREE
AURORA'S P.O.V
"Right here." She dug her hand into a her where I could see a small pocket-like space and brought out a small vial filled with a murky liquid. "Here it is. The potion should keep him unconscious for a few hours."
I looked at the liquid, feeling a sense of unease in my chest, my gazed flickered protectively to Auron.
My voice coming out almost pleading.
"Are you sure about this? Its not going to hurt him, right?"
Eli nodded, taking the vial from Mirabel. "Don't worry, this Isn't our first gig. We mixed wolfsbane, valerian root... enough to knock a werewolf cold but not kill them. Let's get this done."
I nodded, stepping back and letting them do what they had to do. Kale and Jake grabbed Auron's arms, dragging him to a nearby room that we had cleaned and gotten ready just for this. I followed behind, my eyes going back and forth to make sure no one else was following us. It would be a very awkward situation if someone were to pass us right now and see us hauling a body in the corridor. Once we were inside the room, Kale and Jake laid Auron on the floor. Eli pried his mouth open and carefully poured the potion into his mouth, making sure the liquid went down to his stomach.
As soon as the potion was administered, his body which had been twitching as if he was trying to wake up, began to relax, his breathing slowing down.
Mirabel nodded and dusted her hands, blowing out a breath, with a satisfied grin on her lips.
"Whew! That should do it."
She and I stepped back and watched the guys prop him to a chair then they bound his legs and hands with silver chain to the legs and back of the chair. As long as he doesn't try to escape, he should be fine, or else he might risk getting burned by the silver.
"Alright, that's fine. I guess we can get back to the party, right?" Jake asked, how eyes brimming with eagerness while fixing his suit.
Kale nodded, fixing his cuffs.
"Yeah, I think we can go back, before Lucian comes looking for us."
And speak of the devil, because the door suddenly opened and he stepped in, his eyes scanning the room until he stopped at Auron's unconscious form.
"I guess everything is okay. Good job guys." He smiled and took my hand as he faced them. "Now get back into he party before people noticed your absence. We'll behave like normal, hopefully the party ends quick, so we can continue this."
They all nodded and filed out of the room, as we were leaving, Lucian shot one last look at Auron and shook his head, his eyes holding winder.
"What?" I asked, tugging his hand as he locked the door.
He tugged back and smiled.
"Nothing...let's go."
As we re-entered the party, the music and laughter enveloped us once more. I smiled, trying to blend in, but my mind kept drifting back to the room where Auron was being held. The hard part was done, and it will soon be it time for the next part. Convincing him that I'm not the monster he thinks I am.
The rest of the party went smoothly, with no signs of anything out of the ordinary. As the night drew to a close, Lucian took the microphone to give a thank-you speech.
"Thank you all for coming tonight. We appreciate your support and love. Please, enjoy the rest of the night and hopefully, when we see each other again, it will be to celebrate a happy occasion again."
The guests applauded, beginning to file out of the party hall. As the room emptied, Lucian and i stood at tge door, smiling at theguest as they left, even Alpha Victor gave a sheeoush smike before leaving with his mate. She did whisper a quick, "Come visit us anytime.", before leaving.
After the hall was empty of the guests and we had watched them drive off, Lucian turned to us, a hint of excitement in his eyes.
"Let's go see our guest."
They nodded, while I clenched my habds, nervousness coursing throughme.
"What about Eleanor?" I asked, trying to keep my mind busy, I noticed she wasn't here.
Lucian snorted.
"Asleep, she had so much fun that she literally passed out. Luckily, I was there in time to take her to her room."
"Okay."
We walked to the room and opened the door, as well entered, Auron was still unconscious, his chest rising and falling steadily.
"Wow." Mirabel whispered as she moved closer, staring down at his face. "Its almost like I'm staring at you..." She looked at me, smiling, "...but in a different body."
"Yeah." Talia nodded, her hands clasped to her chest as she joined in staring at him. "You guys look so much alike. Aurora..." She looked at me, her eyes shimmering, "You got what you wanted, a sibling."
I nodded, my throat choked up.
"If only he will listen to me, then yes...I have gotten a sibling.".
"What I would like to know is how were you the only person found in the forest if you guys are twins? You were supposed to be together. It doesn't make sense that one was found and the other just disappeared." Griffin said, his voice laced with frustration as he glared at Auron. "And he's blaming you for it."
I smiled softly.
"I don't think he knows the true story, yet. Maybe once we tell him, his mindset will change."
"Hopefully, or we will have no choice but to fight him if he tries to take out by force again." Lycian growled.
"I say we get comfortable and wait for him to wake uo. What do you think?" Jake drawled, going to lie on the large bed, resting his hands behind his head.
"I second that." Kale went to sit on a nearby couch, making himself comfortable.
"I'll just lean here." Kieran muttered, leaning his tall body against the door, his eyes still on Auron as if waiting for him to wake up and fight.
