CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-SEVEN
AURORA'S P.O.V
I blinked blankly at her, then glanced at them, they looked serious, they weren't laughing. Did I just hear neutralize? Neutralize who?
"I'm sorry, but who are we neutralizing?"
"Lucian wouldn't say, he just said we should come with it." Eli explained.
I shook my head, clicking my tongue.
"He has some explaning to do."
"And I will do that, once we get our friends settled." Lucian's voice suddenly sounded from behind me.
"Hey, Lucian, nice to see you man."
Jake walked over to him and pulled him into a hug. Lucian grinned as he tapped his back gently.
"Nice to see you too, Jake. Eli, Shawn, Mirabel, and...Ariel, I'm glad you guys could make it."
"Hello." Ariel smiled at him.
Lucian spent the next few minutes shaking hands with the three males, once he was done, he stepped back.
"Hmmm, strange." He muttered aloud, looking puzzled.
"What's strange?" I asked him.
"Have you seen Kieran and Kale?"
I frowned, "No? Are they coming today?"
He frowned, looking in the direction of the cars.
"He should be here. He called me not long ago to tell me that he was here."
I followed him to stare at the cars,
"But he's certainly not here."
Then the car that was parked last opened and out stepped two men.
"There they are!" Talia exclaimed.
Kieran and Kale walked casually toward us, Kale smiling slightly while a frown was set on Kieran's face.
"Hey." Kieran nodded at everyone once he reached us, he then looked at me, a smile on his lips, brightening his face. "How are you doing, Aurora?"
Did he think that was enough, I sighed and shook my head, moving in for a hug. My hands wrapped his waist as I grumbled.
"Did you think a 'hey' would be all I'll get after all this time?"
He squeezed me slightly before letting go, his smile wider and his gray eyes shining.
"I didn't think it was that long. I'm glad to see you again."
"The feeling is mutual."
I suddenly felt someone dragging my hand.
"That's enough now, I'm sure you guy want to catch up, you can do that later." Lucian said with a slightly annoyed voice. He then pointed at Mirable and her brothers and mates. "Kieran, these are our very good friends and allies, they will be helping us too with Auron. I hope you can find sometime to know each other well."
Kieran nodded at them.
"Hello, nice to meet you, I look forward to working together."
They smiled at him.
Then someone cleared his throat with a dramatic flare. I looked and almost burst into laughter when I saw that Kale had an annoyed look on his face, early from being forgotten. I moved towards him and pulled him into a high.
"Hi Kale, I missed you too. You know there's no way I can forget you right?"
He held me briefly then sniffed.
"But you clearly forgot me right there. Did you know how scared and terrified I was when you we're gone? And then you're back and I had to get your attention before you could notice me. Just imagine, the injustice! The humiliation!" He wailed dramatically, placing a clenched hand on his chest.
I burst into giggles as I watched him, he pried and eye open and burst into a grin.
"There, that's the smile I was waiting for. How are you?"
"I'm great as you can see, thanks for worrying about me and I'm sorry for sneaking out without telling you."
"No worries, as long as you're here safe and sound."
"Alright, enough with the small talk, let's head inside, we have some important matters to discuss."
Lucian gently pulled me to his side and took my hand, clasping it in his, and he did it without even looking. I felt amazed and at the same time giddy with love at the way he unconsciously did it.
"Where's Griffin?" Talia asked beside me.
"Inside the pack house, waiting, he and I just got back from checking the borders."
"What about Eleanor?" I asked too.
"Sleeping. We can brief her in later."
I nodded.
Once we were inside and Griffin had said hello to our friends, we all sat down. The mid afternoon sun cast long shadows through the glass windows as Eli, Ariel, Jake, Kieran, Shawn and Mirabel and sat across from Talia, Griffin and me.
Eli started first.
"So what's the agenda?"
Lucian looked serious as he spoke, his hair packed in a man bun that made him madly sexy to me. Mmmmm. I'm definitely running my hands through his hair this night. Wait. He's speaking right now, Aurora get yourself together. Its his fault for being so sexy.
"Auron." He said his name first, Griffin and Talia sighed while Mirable growled. "We want to lure him into the pack and we're using Aurora as bait."
There was gasp of horror and shock from Mirable and Jake.
Jake threw his hands into the air."What? You want her to be the bait?"
"For someone who kidnapped her? Come on Lucian." Mirabel protested.
"Let's listen to the full plan first babe." Shawn soothed her, running his hands down her back.
Lucian nodded gratefully at him.
"Yes, that's the plan. We intend to lure him using the party so that when he tries to take Aurora, we can easily capture him."
There was silence for a few seconds, then Kieran cleared his throat, a doubtful look on his face.
"Such a detailed plan and you play to do that, how exactly?"
Lucian smiled at him.
"Don't worry oh ye of little faith. We had already made the plans for that day. I just needed you guys to make the plan foolproof. You can never be too careful."
Eli clapped his hands, leaning forward, a curious gleam in his eyes.
"I'm all ears."
Lucian continued.
"We have arranged for our men to be stationed around multiple places in the party on standby, they will be disguised with the guests so that they will be able to spot when someone not on the list comes. More will also be placed strategically around Aurora, this will enable us know when he is making his move." He paused, letting the words sink in for everyone. "This will be done when everyone is preoccupied with something at the same time, something that draws attention, maybe an accident. Auron will use that chance to take her, we stop him before he leaves the party."
