Chapter 135 135
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FIVE
LUCIAN'S P.O.V
"I have to get her back. How dare he take her away and tell me not to do anything stupid!" I lashed out, "Is saving my mate stupid?" I panted harshly, not clearly paying attention to my surrounding.
"Griffin, mobilize the men. All the men that can fight, I don't care how many. We are going to search for Aurora and when we do, we kill that bloody Auron bastard."
Griffin hesitated, glancing worriedly at Talia still in his arms, he opened his mouth to speak but Kieran beat him to it.
"Lucian, I think you should calm down and listen to what this Auron guy said. I have a feeling he's not going to hurt Aurora."
I turned and stared at him, my mouth parted slightly in disbelief. Was this coming from him.
"Kieran, you? How could you say that? He clearly captured her and is going to do something to her. And you stand there telling me not to go search for her?"
He shook his head, letting out a puff of breath
"Hear me out, if he was going to hurt her, I think he would have written it. He seems like the kind of person that likes to let his enemies know his next move, example, the letter he gave to Aurora. So, I'm saying you should wait until he sends another message or release her. If he said you shouldn't do anything stupid, then I guess he had a point."
I stepped back shaking my head.
"I can't believe this is coming from you. You claim to care her but you can say this? Have you been lying all along?"
He opened his mouth to answer but I held a hand out to him.
"Don't answer that, I don't want to hear it." Then I looked at Griffin. "Griffin, mobilize the men, we have to go find her."
I turned, expecting him to move but he stood where he was.
"Why aren't you moving?" I asked.
He gave me an uneasy look then glanced at Kieran.
"Lucian, for once I agree with him. I think you should calm down, going to war with Auron might just make the situation worse. We don't know what he is capable of, so I think we should wait."
I could only close my eyes and sigh, this is unbelievable.
"Griffin, I'm dis....I'm highly disappointed in you. You're supposed to be my fucking best friend and Beta, which means whatever I say, just do it, no questions. But now you sure with him?" He lowered his head, a guilty look on his face, Talia stared worriedly between him and I. A snort sounded from me.
"You are only saying this because its not Talia they took right? I'm sure your words would have been a lot different if Talia had been taken too" he wrapped his hand tighter around her waist, bringing her tighter to his body.
"Lucian, just understand..."
"I know." I held up a hand and stopped. With a resigned sigh I turned away and headed to the door. "I'll find her on my own."
"Lucian, please think about this." Griffin called out, running towards me. I was almost at the door when I felt a pair of hands come to wrap around me, warm and comforting.
"Its okay Lucian, I think she will be fine. Just calm down okay?"
I turned to look at mom, she stared at me with misty eyes that looked on the brink of tears. I suddenly realized that she too was scared and worried about her. I turned to looked back, Talia was biting her lips while wringing her hands which were already white while Griffin and Kieran stared at me with conflicted looks on their faces. As for Kale, his face looked more pale and drawn out. I guess I had been too rash and worked up to see that they were all worried about Aurora too.
"I'm worried about her mom. What if...what if I lose her this time. Permanenly?" My voice came out vulnerable.
"Oh Lucian." She pulled me in for a dep hug, I took a deep white of her homely scent. It calmed my nerves a bit, the soothing movements of her hand on my back made me almost want to cry.
"Its okay, she's not going anywhere and you are not losing her. Aurora wouldn't let that happen."
I nodded.
"I know. She will be fine. Thanks mom "
"You're welcome."
I stood back and glanced at Griffin, he was watching me with a guarded expression on his face. I smiled slightly at him.
"Its alright, I'm not going to do anything stupid. Sorry for taking it out on you."
He immediately smiled, a relieved smile that had his shoulders relaxing.
"That's better, you had me scared there for a minute."
"He had us all scared." Kieran grumbled from behind as he made his way over to a couch. "What were his words, did I actually carry about her? You have no idea." He clicked his tongue and shook his head, clearly displeased.
I shrugged, not feeling that sorry but...."Sorry."
He glared at me from beneath his lashes.
"Whatever."
"Alpha Lycian, if there is anything I can do..."
"Its okay Kale, you have to stop beating yourself about this. If she was going to be taken, there wouldn't have been a way to stop it anyway. What's done is done. We just have to...wait." That word left a bitter taste in my mouth.
He swallowed, his throat moving as he clenched and unclenched his fist. I was about to assure him some more when I suddenly felt static in my head.
"..cian....Luc...Lucian....Lucian?"
It was Aurora's voice and she was reaching out through the link.
"Aurora? Aurora are you okay? Are you hurt?"
She let out a relieved breath and a chuckle.
"Lucian. Its so nice to hear your voice."
I laughed happily, my chest finally loosening.
"Its nice to hear your voice too. How are you? Are you injured?
"Yeah, I'm fine...I'm okay...just don't worry about me okay."
My heart pounded rapidly.
"Where are you? Baby, please tell me where you are, and I'll come get you."
She sniffed, was she crying.
"No....no...don't come...yet....I'm fine...really."
I didn't believe it, her voice sounded muffled, like she had been crying.
"...Auron, he....he's not going to hurt me...can't anyway..."
I grabbed a fistfull of my hair.
"What do you mean?"
"I just....I discovered something...something I never knew before...." She lauged a self depreciating laugh. "...and let's just say, its a life changing news."
I didn't know when I sat down, my legs feeling like jelly as I thought the worst of what she might have discovered.
"Aurora, please tell me."
