CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY
AURORA'S P.O.V
"That's it! I'm done."
I whispered fiercely, fed up as I rushed up from my bed, almost falling to the rugged floor. I made my way over to the window and looked outside, checking to make sure it was the time I had been hoping for. The early hours of dawn.
"Perfect." I nodded, looking at the foggy pack grounds, no sight of the sun, just an ashy cloud which meant it was too early for morning and took late for night.
I hurriedly put on a pair of running shorts and running shoes. I needed a breather, so I was going to go out for an early morning run. For the past two days, since Lucian left with Griffin and Kieran, it's been hell. I've been treated like a child, a fragile object that needs to be watch every minute of the day. If I needed to use the bathroom, I was followed, need to use the kitchen? I was followed too. In fact, I can't do anything without being chaperoned by Talia and Eleanor, and Kale is making it worse.
Don't get me wrong, the guy is sweet, lovely even. But he can be a bit obsessed when he's on the job. Stares at me and follows my every move with a hawks gaze. That's why I'm leaving...scratch that, I'm escaping at this time. I'm sure Auron and his men won't be making a stake out in the middle of the pack just because they want me. Right? I think. I hope. Anyway, I'm heading out.
So, carefully, so slowly that it was almost a torture to my ears, I pulled the door open. I almost screamed when I saw Kale leaning by the door but when he made no move towards me, I stepped closer. His eyes were closed, his chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm.
"Oh, you're asleep. Please keep in sleeping." I whispered after swiping my hands left and right in front of his face, just to make sure he was sleeping and not pretending.
I tiptoed through the corridor, glancing back occasionally to check him. He was still standing, leaning against the wall, asleep, definitely deeply asleep. But what a talent! If I had the talent of sleeping while standing, I wouldn't have any problems in making pack visits. Because I spend more than an hour every time, just to to stand and listen as the ones who don't know when to stop talking, keep talking.
"Whew! I made it"
I briefly let out a sigh of relief once I had safely closed the main door to the pack house. As I stared ahead, the trees swayed lightly, the birds made a few twits. The promise of freedom beckoned to me. I did few light stretches then began to run at a moderate pace. The sound of my trainers hitting the untarred road rang in my ear. I breathed in the fresh scent of the woods, the smell of dew and grass. This felt so nice, definitely what I needed. I ran for thirty minutes, stopping at the edge of the trail to tie my shoe lace.which I noticed had untied itself as I ran.
"Okay, once I'm done trying you...I can head back. I'm sure Kale would freak out when he sees me coming back. But at least I can use this to prove to him that I'm safe outside. Such a worrywart."
I was almost done, about to get up when suddenly, hard, strong hands covered my mouth and my eyes. My hands immediately flew up to grab at the person but then I felt something cold and metal being slipped around my neck, then I went limp. Not like I fainted or anything, I just couldn't move my body. It felt like my body has suddenly become too heavy and out of my control. Something soft but firm was tired around my eyes.
"Whatttt....what's....happpeeenn....to....me....?" What? Even my tongue felt heavy, I could barely speak.
A hand softly yanked my face up.
"Stop trying to speak, you can't no matter what."
Wait! That voice, I know that voice.
"You'll only end up stressing yourself." The voice continued.
I focused on the voice, trying to remember where I had heard it from. Deep, laden with contrasting emotions. But there was one I could identify. Hate. A lot of hate...and blame. I gasped silently, trying to lift my head up but failing.
Auron!
It's him.
Does this mean he has been watching me as I came out from the pack house? If he had, then this guy really has something serious against me. Oh, what do I do now. Kale is so going to beat himself for this but I know it's my fault. I let myself be captured. When I get out of this, Lucian is definitely not going to let me leave this down. Especially Talia and Eleanor. Okay, Aurora, don't panic now. Let's just be calm and wait to see what thy want to do. We'll think from there, let's save our strength for later. I felt my body being hoisted onto something large. It felt hard and rough under my back but of course, I couldn't complain. After what felt like hours to me, we finally stopped.
"Carry her." Auron commanded in his deep voice. Great, I'm being carried, like a baby right.
Nope, scratch that again. I felt my body carried in bridal style, in a stranger's arms. I should definitely not let Lucian find out about this part. We walked for a while, stopping when I heard the sound of mutterings and mumblings around me.
"Make way!"
"Make way for the alpha!"
Muffled orders sounded around me, and once more, I felt myself being taken away. A door was opened, we walked in, I was placed in a sitting position on a chair. Finally.
"Remove the blindfold." Auron commanded again. I felt the blindfold coming off slowly until it was out completely. I blinked my eyes repeatedly, thank goodness I could control that at least. My sight was blurry as I looked around. I didn't know if it was my eyes or the room that was just dark. But I finally made out the grainy image of a tall figure standing in front of me.
"Finally. Its nice to meet you, Aurora."
