Chapter 250 Are the Children of the Windsor Family All Geniuses?
"Choosing to maliciously slander someone without knowing the truth - this classmate's brain and character are both quite questionable."
Catherine's pleasant voice echoed through the classroom.
Catherine could see right through people like Lyra and her intentions at a glance.
She just didn't think it was worth her attention!
Coming here to study was partly to fulfill her promise to Elodie to attend university properly, but more importantly, there were things Catherine herself wanted to do.
Lyra came from a scholarly family, and hearing Catherine's direct and mocking words made her face burn with embarrassment.
"But the person online said she was your sister. They couldn't just be making that up, right?"
Catherine glanced at Lyra with contempt in her eyes.
Just because someone online said it was her sister, they believed it?
Whether it was Esme or Clara, they were actually both a bit older than Catherine. They only claimed to be her younger sisters to appear more vulnerable and precious, because younger sisters could be taken care of.
Truth be told, Catherine didn't have any younger sisters at all.
"I could say I'm your father - would you believe that?"
Lyra fell silent.
Someone nearby couldn't help but laugh out loud. Lyra's face stung with humiliation.
"Then why don't you clarify? If it's a misunderstanding, you should clarify!"
"Lyra, if I said your brain and intestines contain the same thing, how would you clarify that?"
"In other words, if I said I'm your father, how would you clarify that?"
Lyra froze!
How could she clarify that? There was no need to clarify it at all!
Actually clarifying something like that would just be asking for trouble.
People around them laughed out loud!
"If Catherine joined the debate team, our college would definitely win first place this year!"
Lyra's face darkened, and as the teacher entered the classroom, she had no choice but to back down and return to her seat.
The first class was Basic Jewelry Design. The instructor was young and elegant, wearing a fitted dress and white blazer, and had brought many pieces of jewelry for the students to examine.
"I'm your subject teacher and homeroom teacher for this class, Gabriella Gray. Since your counselor is pregnant and the new counselor hasn't taken office yet, I'll be responsible for all of you for now."
Gabriella's gaze swept across every face in the lecture hall. Catherine wasn't sure if it was her imagination, but she felt like Gabriella looked at her a couple extra times.
Was it because of the online information, or because of the violin she played yesterday?
After class, Gabriella announced the first assignment.
"Students, please submit a design draft after class. This is my email address."
Jewelry design required knowing students' drawing skills and their ability to appreciate jewelry basics. Many students had already prepared their assignments.
Gabriella's gaze swept across the room and landed on Catherine in the back row.
"Catherine, could you come to my office for a moment?"
"Sure."
Seeing Catherine called to Gabriella's office, Lyra and several other girls covered their mouths and giggled!
Gabriella must be going to give Catherine trouble!
Lyra pulled a few people along to secretly follow and eavesdrop.
After all, that online information had seriously damaged the school's reputation. If Gabriella scolded her, Catherine would definitely lose face.
Entering the office, Gabriella first took a sip of water to soothe her throat before turning her attention to Catherine.
Standing tall with perfect posture, her beautiful face wore no makeup yet was as exquisite as countless precious jewels. The calm indifference in her eyes was somehow heart-stopping.
Gabriella smiled. "Don't be nervous. I called you to my office for two things. About your application to the college to skip certain courses - I want to ask about your specific reasons."
"No particular reason. Those courses are somewhat a waste of time."
Catherine had many things to do - whether it was the company the Windsor family had arranged for her, internal matters of Galactic Aurora Collective, or unavoidable missions on the border.
She really didn't have that much time to study what the school had arranged.
Gabriella was stunned. She had expected Catherine to give some reason, but didn't expect it to simply be because it was a waste of time!
"But what about PE class? That's still necessary."
Catherine handed over materials she had prepared in advance to Gabriella.
"I'm a level-two skiing athlete in Stellara. PE class isn't necessary for me. The school teachers probably can't teach me anything."
Behind the certificate were many jewelry design drafts, all sketched by Catherine in her spare time.
Gabriella's eyes widened!
Those designs were just simple sketches, with notes about what gemstones to use for decoration, and even the cutting techniques for each position were written out clearly!
If these drafts were actually followed, these pieces would definitely shine brilliantly!
"Catherine, did you draw all of these yourself?"
"I drew them when I was bored. Since you've called me here, I might also miss some major classes sometimes."
Perfect timing to ask for leave. What Catherine could and couldn't learn from textbooks could all be seen in these drafts!
Gabriella's eyes showed some hesitation, and her heart was incredibly shocked.
Were all the Windsor family's children geniuses?
Catherine's expression remained calm.
"You can give whatever participation grade you think is fair. I'll definitely come for final exams, but I can't guarantee other times."
At Imperial University, participation only counted for thirty percent. Even if all those points were deducted, she wouldn't fail.
Gabriella frowned slightly and said seriously, "But if you come to class, with your talent, the scholarship would definitely be yours. Don't you want to compete for it?"
"No need. Leave it for students who need it more."
The scholarship held no appeal for Catherine. There were plenty of hardworking students who needed that money more!
Seeing that Gabriella seemed troubled, Catherine proactively asked, "Is it not allowed?"
If it wasn't officially allowed, she'd just have to skip class when necessary.
Gabriella waved her hand.
"Just have Charles come to school to write another application and sign it. He also asked me to take good care of you. I didn't expect Charles's sister to be a jewelry design genius. These drafts are amazing!"
"You know Charles?"
"We were classmates during our doctoral studies. The second thing is to thank you for giving my sister a chance. When she heard you were coming to study at our college, she told me I had to teach you well."
Now it seemed Catherine's level was far beyond what she could teach!
"Who is your sister?"
"An employee at your gallery, Odette Gray. She's praised you to the skies in front of me."
Catherine looked at the photo on Gabriella's phone and remembered the intern who had once been exploited by Elijah. She had become a full-time employee at the gallery last month.
"But I'm curious, Catherine - with so many courses you're not attending, what are you planning to use that time for?"
For Catherine to apply to skip courses, she needed a valid reason.
"Managing companies. I have over a dozen companies under my name that need handling."
