Chapter 152: Catherine is Stellara's Specially Appointed Talent
After dealing with Oliver and the Brown family, Catherine's phone rang. An encrypted, garbled message came through.
She picked up her phone, quickly unlocked the program, imported the message using a backend she'd developed, and soon got the actual content.
[Boss, we've got a problem at our lab in Tranquil County. Please come over.]
[Got it.]
To better collaborate with the Phoenix Lab that Juniper was in charge of, Galactic Aurora Collective had also set up its own lab in Tranquil County.
Catherine put away her phone and, following the map already stored in her mind, made her way to where the Galactic Aurora Collective Lab was located.
From the outside, the lab just looked like an ordinary suburban house, nothing special about it.
Catherine stood at the entrance and went through three layers of verification - fingerprint, iris scan, and password - before successfully entering the lab.
"What happened?"
"We found that the data we just provided to Phoenix Lab was forcibly intercepted."
Alkaid, the person in charge of the lab, handed her a file.
"Phoenix Lab has pretty high security standards. The materials should be top secret. This shouldn't have happened."
Catherine looked at the data, which showed that part of the collaborative data Galactic Aurora Collective provided to Phoenix Lab had been maliciously stolen.
While putting on her lab coat, she put on a mask and instructed, "Get me some equipment."
Seeing that she was going to work on it herself, Alkaid got excited and quickly handed over all the lab equipment nearby.
It had been so long since Catherine had done experiments herself!
Five minutes later, Catherine looked at the experimental data in front of her and reached out. "Give me paper and pen."
Alkaid handed them over, noticing the mud on Catherine's shoes, and raised an eyebrow. "Boss, did you just go up the mountain?"
"Yes, and I happened to run into the Brown family people. Beat them up."
Hearing Catherine's casual tone, Alkaid said through gritted teeth, "Why do these people keep showing up! You were too nice to them before!"
"Don't worry about it."
Falling from the height of that mass grave wouldn't kill the Brown family people and Oliver's group on the spot - at most they'd lose some limbs and be stuck in bed for a while, which would make them quiet down nicely.
After all, by the time they recovered from their injuries, whether the Smith family would even still exist was anyone's guess!
"It's time to release the information about the Smith family's project flaws and Oliver's tax evasion that we prepared earlier."
"Yes!"
They'd been holding onto that stuff for so long!
Catherine had almost let them off because of Elodie, but Oliver kept being so disgusting, doing so many things that broke Catherine's heart!
Alkaid said with disdain, "When Oliver was doing that project, someone died at the construction site, and he actually said it was delaying his project progress. He's really inhuman."
"Since he's inhuman, don't take him to heart. Also, spread the word under Phantom Doctor's name that any organization internationally that provides medical help to Oliver will be Phantom Doctor's enemy forever."
"Yes! But what if they go to regular hospitals?"
Catherine said calmly, "Don't worry, I have a way."
She had already edited a message to George and clicked send.
George's reply came quickly.
[Catherine, you finally know to come to me for help. I thought you'd forgotten about me! Don't worry, I've been ready for a while.]
[Reputable hospitals across the country and even the world will blacklist Oliver through their internal networks. He can go for treatment, but it'll cost him big money, and no matter how much he spends, he won't find a suitable doctor.]
[When are you coming back?]
[How's Juniper doing?]
[I miss you!]
A string of messages kept coming in. Catherine replied selectively and then put away her phone.
With George working on it, there was no way Oliver could get proper treatment. By then, even if he wasn't sick, whatever little fortune the Smith family had would be completely drained by him.
Catherine recorded the experimental data, opened her computer, wrote a report with discrepancies, and clicked send.
Half a minute later, the system showed the message had been intercepted midway.
Catherine's slender fingers flew across the keyboard, quickly locking onto the IP address that intercepted the information. She frowned slightly.
"Also in Tranquil County. Looks like it's someone from Phoenix Lab too. Seems Juniper's lab isn't so peaceful either."
Alkaid shrugged.
"Not every lab is like ours without all the scheming. Your sister is so young and a child prodigy - plenty of people want to see her fail. Many people haven't accomplished much but are just waiting to climb the ladder through seniority."
Waiting to climb the ladder and get promoted, but then Juniper was suddenly parachuted in.
Catherine had heard that Juniper got into Phoenix Lab through her own merit, but the Windsor family had simply waved their hand and donated an entire experimental facility for her.
You could say all the equipment used in Phoenix Lab was donated by the Windsor family.
Alkaid shrugged. "So people at the lab talk badly about Juniper. Pretty nasty stuff."
Especially after learning that Juniper was just an adopted daughter of the Windsor family, what they said got even worse.
Catherine picked up the notebook with her experimental data. "Let's go take a look."
"Yes!"
She loved this kind of confrontation!
Phoenix Lab.
Juniper frowned at the several middle-aged lab workers in front of her.
"Theron Evans, Caius Cox, what are you two trying to do? If you don't want to work here, you can submit your resignation directly. I won't stop you!"
Caius, the lead lab worker, looked at Juniper with disdain.
"Ms. Windsor, we all put effort into the data research. As the people in charge, we collected many of the samples ourselves. You didn't do anything."
"Right, if anyone should leave, it's you. Wouldn't it be nice to go home and get married at your age? The Windsor family is such a big family - surely you can still get married even though you're adopted, hahaha!"
Their words were as nasty as they could be.
Juniper bit her lip. "What do you mean? I clearly did those experiments! As the technical director and authorized signatory, you're supposed to be responsible for all the data!"
"We're not saying we won't be responsible. But if you want us to be responsible, fine - we have all that data, and you don't! You haven't done anything, so get out of Phoenix Lab!"
After all that beating around the bush, they finally said what they really meant.
Juniper was so angry she laughed!
That data clearly came from experiments she had worked on day and night, stolen midway by these two people and claimed as their own experimental results, just to force her out of Phoenix Lab?
She was familiar with every blade of grass and tree here. Although she had initially thought about leaving the Windsor family voluntarily, Juniper truly loved this work!
The group of researchers didn't dare breathe loudly.
A clear voice suddenly came from outside the lab.
"I remember the person in charge here is named Howard. Where is he?"
Theron hadn't expected anyone else to come in. Phoenix Lab was classified at a top-secret level - ordinary people couldn't get in. He turned to scold them, but then saw the logo on Catherine's lab coat.
An inconspicuous star pattern on the special material of the lab coat shone like stars that gleam brightly even in broad daylight!
Caius frowned. "Who dares break into Phoenix Lab? Where's security! Arrest these two!"
Catherine wore a mask and hat, showing only her clear, bright eyes. Her expression was calm as she tossed Caius a pass.
It clearly read: Stellara Special Laboratory Talent, authorized to enter all levels of laboratories!
Everyone was stunned!
Catherine sat down in a chair and said, "Am I qualified now?"
