Chapter 102 Now Suffering Retribution
Catherine is actually pregnant?
Lucas, who had been somewhat interested before, suddenly lost all interest. He only liked clean women. Once a woman wasn't clean anymore, he wouldn't even look at her.
Oliver couldn't care about all that. "Clara, give me your phone. I need to call Catherine!"
No matter what conditions Catherine proposed, he had to make her agree to his request!
He didn't want to die yet!
Catherine had long blocked Oliver, so his calls couldn't get through at all.
Taking Clara's phone, Oliver frantically dialed Catherine's number.
"Hello? Catherine, it's Oliver. Are you at Healing Touch Hospital today?"
Catherine heard Oliver's voice and instinctively wanted to hang up, but when she heard him mention Healing Touch Hospital, she frowned.
How did Oliver know she was at Healing Touch Hospital?
"Catherine, I'm sick. It made me think about how good you and your grandmother were to me before. I really miss you both, so I went back to see your grandmother. But I didn't expect to roll down the mountain and now I'm sick, right here at Healing Touch Hospital. Would you be willing to come see me?"
Afraid Catherine wouldn't agree, Oliver quickly added: "Don't worry, as long as you're willing to come back to the Smith family, I'll definitely treat you and the child in your belly well!"
Hearing that Oliver actually wanted Catherine to return to the Smith family, Clara's fingernails dug into her flesh.
Damn it, Catherine's private life was such a mess, how could Oliver still let her come back to the Smith family?
Such an unclean person - didn't Oliver find her disgusting at all?
On the other end of the phone, Catherine frowned as she listened to Oliver speak.
Child? When did she have a child in her belly?
"Catherine, I know you came to the obstetrics department at Healing Touch Hospital to secretly get rid of the baby without the Windsor family finding out. Don't worry, I'll definitely keep your secret, as long as you agree to contact the Windsor family and get George to come see me."
So the real purpose was George.
"Catherine, I know I was wrong. You and your grandmother are the most important people in my heart. Can you bear to watch me suffer? Your grandmother would feel bad too!"
Catherine said flatly: "When my grandmother was seriously ill, did you feel bad?"
Oliver was about to answer that he did, when he heard Catherine speak in an indifferent tone.
"If you felt bad, why didn't you show up at the hospital even once? You were the person she most wanted to see on her deathbed, but you didn't come. You didn't come to the funeral either. Did you ever feel bad?"
Oliver was stunned!
Why did Catherine keep bringing up old issues!
Everything from the past was over - what was the point of dwelling on it?
"Catherine, I was doing it all to make money, otherwise how could I give you and grandmother a good life? When grandmother was seriously ill, the hospital she stayed in was the best available!"
Catherine laughed mockingly.
"Three thousand dollars a month - what kind of good resources do you think you could buy? Since you're sick now too, you should be able to enjoy those three thousand dollar resources yourself."
When Elodie was sick, all the medical resources came from Moon Laboratory. Every medicine Catherine needed to give Elodie went through multiple tests to ensure it was completely safe before she used it on Elodie.
Oliver never showed up once.
Oliver felt a bit guilty and wanted to make more excuses to try to soften Catherine's heart and get her to call George for him.
"Catherine..."
"Get lost."
Catherine hung up and smoothly added the number to her blacklist.
Watching this, Alexander felt a dense wave of heartache rise up, like being pricked by needles, filling him with pity for Catherine.
"The Smith family?"
"Yes, who knows what they're up to. Blocking them is enough."
Catherine quickly made a small program so that all calls from the Smith family would be blocked from her phone in the future.
A Galactic Aurora Collective member wearing a doctor's uniform knocked and walked in.
"Boss, Ethan agreed to let us do the surgery."
"He would agree. After the journey, his brother's body can barely hold on anymore."
Catherine looked at Alexander beside her. "I'm going to do the surgery. It will take quite a long time."
"Don't worry, nothing will disturb you. I'll wait outside the operating room for you to finish all your work."
He knew Catherine's operating table required absolute quiet.
Venus grinned: "Never thought I'd see the day when Nightfall would guard the operating room for me!"
"Is Nightfall guarding it for you? It's for Catherine! Catherine, look how good Mr. Howard is - when are you going to get yourself ready and marry him, taking us along!"
Catherine looked at them helplessly, and Alexander beside her let out a pleased, light laugh.
Her face turned red, fortunately the mask covered it so she wouldn't be embarrassed.
"Go get ready."
Brain surgery wasn't that simple, and the pre-operative preparation was very complicated.
The three Galactic Aurora Collective members ran off whistling and covering their butts, afraid of getting kicked.
"I'm going to prepare."
Alexander grabbed Catherine, bent down close to her, and tidied her loose hair, thoughtfully tucking it all into her surgical cap.
"I'll be right outside, waiting for you to come out."
"Okay."
The "surgery in progress" sign soon lit up. Ethan stood at the door, pacing back and forth anxiously.
Meanwhile—
After being blocked by Catherine, Oliver was furious.
"How can Catherine be so inconsiderate! I raised her all these years, does she really think she grew up drinking dew? Not a shred of conscience! Just watching me suffer like this? This is infuriating!"
Molly beside him let out a mocking laugh.
"Now you know to beg Catherine. I don't know what your family was thinking - it's just raising one more daughter, but you couldn't bear it and had to kick Catherine out. It's not like she's a son who would compete for the family fortune. Such petty behavior, now you're getting what you deserve!"
Molly couldn't help but laugh seeing Oliver's misfortune.
Serves him right!
Although she didn't like Catherine's aloof attitude either, it was still much better than Clara's timid manner.
Besides, even if you found out Catherine wasn't your biological daughter, what's the big deal about raising one more daughter?
Other people wish they had more children, but Oliver acts like he's afraid of spending an extra dollar!
She just couldn't stand this kind of behavior, rushing to send a daughter away!
Clara was glared at several times by Molly, and Lucas didn't even help her speak up. She felt extremely wronged.
"Dad, I'm in contact with Esme from the Windsor family. Why don't I ask her - maybe Esme can help us contact George."
Oliver immediately brightened up.
"Clara, you really are my lucky star! Hurry and contact Esme! I'm just waiting for Clara to bring George back for me. Some people who can't find a good doctor can just wait to die!"
The Johnson family members all looked very displeased.
Oliver thought he had turned the tables. "The Windsor family definitely doesn't know what Catherine has done, otherwise she wouldn't be hiding it from them."
He thought for a moment and quietly sent a message to Lila!
