Bella's POV.
A sudden, severe spike of pain mixed with a raw feeling of my flesh stabbing immensely from the tiny pieces of glass which were stuck deep within my flesh caused my body to shiver with the pain while tears trickled down my cheeks.
"aww, pa please help me." I moaned bitterly while my hands shook vigorously...I looked up at pa and he glanced at me with a baffled mug without responding to my cry.
Pa furrowed his bows paralyzed by the scenery... His bad tendency of not fighting back for me will one day cost him, his daughter's life. My body shuddered at the dreadful thought.
Who did I offend to receive such a kind of life? I seriously did not understand why Diana and her daughter Crystal found so much pleasure in hurting me physically or emotionally. I sighed heavily and my lips trembled.
Oh, moon goddess what kind of life is this?
Suddenly, Alpha Jacob shoved pa out of his way because he was standing in front of him, knelt next to me, and clasped me into his robust firm burly arms…for a split moment the pain running from my hands temporarily creased while I gave attention to his heartbeat thumping wildly with a pale complexion.
"What happened here?" He questioned while he could not focus on whether to look at my face or my bloody hands.
Upon noticing his concern towards me, I and my wolf melted into his arms surrendering my whole to him.
I pray he accepts me as his luna. I cringed my eyes shut hoping for a better response from Jacob than being a side piece to ungrateful Alpha Zach.
Upon catching a glimpse of us in a compromised embrace, pa also quickly knelt closer to me and pretended to be examining my wound with a concerned look on his face.
"Honey, what happened to our girl?" He raised a question in a serious voice as if he cared while he shifted his gaze toward his wife.
Our girl??? This man is joking, right? I furrowed my brows while glancing at him with my nose wrinkled in disgust.
How dare he call me 'our girl?' As though he and his wife cared. Is it because Alpha Jacob was here with us?
"I don't know love, one minute I was standing here minding my own business and the next I just heard the glass shuttering and Bella screaming. Ask her instead of what happened." Diana scoffed out loud, everyone in the room heard her.
Pa evaded her sight because he sensed that in as much as I was a clumsy girl, never would I have dared to break Diana's cups and plates. After all, she would have yelled at me without minding our guest.... while I and Jacob peeked at her face and she did not seem to care about my well-being, but that was nothing new to me. I sneered silently and then glanced back to my wound.
"Awww, it hurts, get them out please." my skin made an effort to heal itself but due to the pieces of glass still inserted into my flesh, the glasses cut my healing skin causing discomfort.
Alpha Jacob, gently clasped my hands to examine my wound.." shhh, calm down" he lovingly gazed into my eyes, reassuring me to trust him.
My lips quivered, while I sniffed up the little buggers trying to escape my nose…" please remove them, they hurt." A slight moan escaped my trembling lips.
"Ok, but this will hurt a little bit, so calm yourself with slow deep breaths." Jacob gently caressed a tear from my cheek and one by one, he pulled out the pieces of glass from my hands…during this moment, I felt no pain whatsoever as I was lost by his adoring gesture.
Why is he treating me like he has accepted me as his mate?
Is this a sign from the moon goddess?
Oh mother, please take me away from this abusive family and let Alpha Jacob be the Savior I have been waiting for…
"Done…you see, that was not so bad after all?" Alpha Jacob jerked up to his feet.
I looked at my hands and they had healed up quickly with less pain, I smiled with my eyes sparkling with happiness.
"Thank you, Alpha." I peeked at him with a passionate desire to be his.
He stretched out his hand and I positioned mine on his... He clutched it and gently tugged me off the floor.
"You are most welcome Bella." His voice sent a delicious shiver down my spine as I gawked at his lip's movement.
Maybe, he is the one for me. Thank you, moon goddess. A tight-lipped smile emitted on my face while I gazed into my knight in shining armor,
In his gaze, the whole world disappeared including pa and Diana who was in the room with us.
"Ahem," pa fake cleared his throat out loud while he stood next to us.
My body shuddered, then I let go of Alpha Jacob's hand and swallowed hard with my flickering eyes... I clutched my mickey mouse dress with both hands and bit my bottom lip.
"So Alpha Jacob, what will it be? Are you going to take her with you?" Pa raised a question.
Alpha Jacob shifted his chest outwardly with a stern poise "It's only right that…" unexpectedly he is interrupted by Diana's outburst and all our gazes turned and fixed on her.
"Excuse me, take her where?" She walked closer to us with her hands on her hips dressed in her famous knee-length peach pencil dress with her pointed nude stiletto.
"Alpha Jacob here is Bella's, fated mate, that's what we were discussing," Pa said beaming proudly,
Upon hearing pa say that out loud, my heart skipped a beat while my cheeks flushed... I instantly became optimistic thinking Alpha Jacob had already accepted me as his luna.
Diana's jaw dropped as she huffed out loud because she was caught off guard by Pa's announcement.
"No, that's a lie, Bella's fated mate is Alpha Zach and not that imposter!" She blurted out loud with a scowl.
My heart sank into my guts. How dare she say that out loud?
"What?" Pa interjected, his face turned red. He glanced at Alpha Jacob momentarily with a frown, then shifted his gaze to me with a raised eyebrow.
"Ask her, she will tell you the truth." Diana scoffed without caring about her daughter crystal who was marked by the said Alpha.
"Bella, is she saying the truth?" Pa questioned me with his arms folded.
"Pa, I can explain everything…" I stuttered.
"Yes, little bitch, explain yourself." Diana snapped as she wrinkled her nose at me like I was something disgusting.
"You will not talk to her like that!" Alpha Jacob's eyes narrowed in on Diana.
"I'm sorry Alpha, but this girl is not going to make a good Luna for you. Tell him you are mated to Alpha Zach" Diana's cheeks flushed.
A rush of fear ran over me like I had done something wrong while my eyelids plunged to the floor as I avoided everyone's hot stare.
Alpha Jacob gently tugged my chin and shifted my head towards his face. "Tell us the truth Bella, is she saying the truth?" he asked in a soft voice with a slight smile on his face.
"Umh yes, what Diana is saying is true." My heart thumped wildly with cold sweat dripping down my face.
