Chapter 11 Chapter 11.
Alpha Jacob's POV.
I leaped out from behind an evergreen oak and I transformed back into my human with blood dripping down from the sides of my mouth because I had just returned from a hunting Spee in the nearby forest.
I ambled confidently straight into the village square of my pack with only navy blue jeans, barefoot and I sensed eyes on me with indistinct chatter around me. But that was nothing new to me as I was used to it, while ladies in my pack have been eye fucking me for years ever since my Luna passed on to be with our ancestors.
"Good morning, Alpha Jacob. The elders are having a meeting about you in the castle." Beta Olivia spoke out while she joined me as I strolled back to my castle.
I chuckled with a naughty smirk on my face while I snuffed out the blood stains on my face with my palms.
The news she delivered did not bother me much because for the past few years, I have been mourning the loss of my Luna Avery who died in a tragic hunting Spee gone wrong and since then, I had become very cold and distant from the day-to-day problems of my village.
I'm Alpha Jacob Shepard, the feared leader of the midnight pack, and I had just turned thirty years old. My methods of battle were tactical hence many packs were forced to form an allegiance with me in fear of my attack. I lived in Bucharest Romania with more than one million inhabitants, hence I had a great deal of responsibility running my pack.
"So tell me, what is new about their meeting today Beta?" I raised a question in a deep voice without glancing at her.
"Alpha, there are saying you need a new Luna for the prosperity of the pack." She answered back in a low voice as she knew how I felt about me replacing my beloved Avery.
I stopped and veered my attention to her face with unblinking focused eye contact while I clenched my jaws and fists at her statement.
Beta Olivia glanced down to the ground in submission as her chest visibly moved up and down while she gasped for air.
"Where are they?" My eyes gleamed to a yellowish glow with a scowl on my face.
"They are in the meeting chambers." She stuttered.
"Ok, excuse me, I have a meeting to get to." I hurriedly sauntered straight to the elders in the castle.
They knew very well that I had no intentions of ever replacing my Luna Avery and anyone mentioning it knew how angry it got me.
How dare they hold another stupid meeting about me finding a mate without me? My teeth gritted as I huffed and puffed.
"Good morning Alpha Jacob, the elders have been waiting on you." Gamma Nick said with a pale face while he handed me a crisp long-sleeved white smart shirt. He was the first person who welcomed me into the lounge.
He was a good servant in the castle with its day-to-day running as he made sure everything was going on smoothly even without my presence.
I snatched my shirt and wore it without buttoning the buttons.
"Is that so?" I snarled loudly and then badged into the meeting chamber stuttering all the elders in the room as all of their bodies quivered in fright at my abrupt intrusion.
"Don't let me stop your meeting. You may proceed." I said sarcastically then plunged into my seat at the head of the table.
The five elders in the room all became silent while one's lips quivered, the other broke a sweat on his forehead and the other's eyes widened in fear.
"Alpha Jacob, how how.. did your hunting go." Epsilon Damon whimpered.
"My hunt was great, now continue with your meeting," I growled.
All my elder's bodies shuddered at my growl.
"Alpha Jacob, we were just talking about you... sorry, but the village needs a Luna to assist in the day-to-day running of the pack." Epsilon Nelly stuttered with her head bent down in submission.
I pulled a face to her statement and smacked the wooden table hard with my palm causing it to crack as I huffed and puffed loudly.
"And who said that I need an assistant to help me do my job uh?" I skimmed the room with a grimace.
"Alpha Jacob, don't get us wrong, but who will keep the peace when you left the pack to go attend to other urgent matters?" Epsilon Michael inquired with a serious face.
"Samantha can make a good Luna. She is highly trained to rule by your side… You have a week to find a Luna or Samantha will be the pack's Luna." Epsilon Emilio blurted out loud with boldness his chest sticking out.
"You will not dictate how I run my pack, or whether to find a mate or not. Don't let me lose the little respect I have for all of you in this room." I leaned on the table while everyone else inclined to their seats with pale faces.
I jerked up from the chair and sauntered out of the room straight to my private room with a reddened face.
I got to my bedroom to find some peace and quiet for a while, and low and behold, Beta Samantha, Emilio's daughter was in my room naked and sexy posed on my bed.
She was a twenty-five-year-old red-haired attractive woman with curves in the right places, but I was never going to cheat on my Avery with her.
Not even in her death, no. I coiled my hands into a ball.
