Chapter 137: I'm The Bigger Monster

I smirked, knowing where I would find the devil himself. I made my way through the manor heading to meet the evil that had turned me into what I was. I ignored the screaming, the blood coating the wall. “Beatrix, Beatrix” I turned my head and saw Leia, she was fighting, I walked up ripping the man away and tearing his heart out.

I didn’t say a single word as I walked away, I knew what I had to do as if I was in some kind of hell born trance. I stepped outside. My hands raised and fog fell everywhere. As I stepped out onto the greenery, I used my green weaving to change the maze, so it was straight to my opponent.

He wouldn’t know thanks to the fog, I strolled letting all the horrible things that had happened to replay before me. The friends I had witnessed die. My beloved school being destroyed. Me being a villain, my capture, the torture, and the rituals I was forced to learn and the ones I did just so I could defeat him. I could feel him before I saw him. I lifted the fog. His red eyes stared at mine.

I let them roam, he took in my appearance. His eyes rolling over the blackness in my hands and arms, the white in my curly hair, my red eyes and my elongated fangs. “Beatrix” He said my name and I swiped at him again, he dogged but I managed to clip his neck. “You don’t want to fight me” He said. “Wrong” I went to physically hit him again but this time he moved.

“This is my only warning, you can stop this, we can share the top, now you have my power, you really are my daughter now.” I swiped my nails cutting into his arm. Then I saw the fire in his palm, so he was going to fight. I knew his gift was Pyromancy, but how long had it been since he did his own bidding? I looked up to the sky and rain pelted down putting out his flames in the torrential down power.

I hadn’t forget what his gift was, and I knew how I would fix that little problem. He could do blood magic, that was true but with no ritual he was useless, weak, disappointing. I stared at him the rain dousing his flames and his body. I walked over blood covering me and I brought my fist up punching him square in the face. He stumbled, I knew he was old.

This was not going to be a simple kill, no I wanted him to suffer. I knocked him back again and again until he was down. I didn’t want to use my gift, I wanted to rip him apart piece by piece, my hands doing all the work. He would die by my hands not my power. He would die like the humans he hated so much. I let the rain up as I had him under me now. I ripped at him first. My own will taking over, giving into every animal urge I felt.

As I had no feel for time, I didn’t know how long I was at it. “Beatrix?” Someone said and I looked up there was Aiden. Adien was staring at me in horror. I didn’t know how I looked, probably horrifying. I was covered soaking wet, the rain had soaked me. Then there was the blood from Malachar.

“What are you doing, just kill him, or is he already dead?” Aiden asked. Malachar was still very much alive, I was dragging this out. I went to respond but my throat felt hoarse. “Well kill him!” He said. Aiden was my oldest friend but he didn’t look at me like that now. He looked at me as if I was the monster that should be dead. Then I felt searing pain and looked back at Malachar. He was latched onto my wrist, his teeth embedded in my wrist. He let go and began to laugh.

He had drunk from me, he tied our lives. If I wanted to kill him, I would die, Teddy would die. My emotions, I could feel them. The real me I could feel inside myself. I was now forced with my own mortality, and I could feel myself, but it was so below the rest of what this war, this wickedness changed me into. I was struggling with it, “Aiden get Teddy now” I told him. He nodded and ran off.

I turned back to Malachar, he was smiling, how he managed to speak I have no clue, “Now you know I won’t kill you, let me up Beatrix, we can rule together, you proved your point, you are as powerful as me, we are equals.” He coughed up some blood that splatted my face. “We are the same.” He said. I then knew he was right. I looked up, feeling Teddy close. Aiden had to use vampiric speed to get him and Teddy had to use it to get back but there he was he could see me. I smiled at him, he was beautiful.

Even covered in blood, his white hair still glowed in the moon despite the blood in it. I loved his grey eyes, I took one moment to look at him one last time.  Then I turned back to Malachar. The words Teddy told me rushed back and I said “You are right, we are both monsters, but to win in war you have to be the worst monster, and I am that.” Then I dug my teeth into his neck and drank, he screamed at first but with each pull on his pulsing blood he was growing weaker.

I drank until he was exsanguinated. His body shrived on the ground. I waited for death to come, it was inevitable. I would die in moments and I knew it. Teddy had approached. He looked at Malachar’s dead body then me. “You did it love; you did what you set out to do.” I was so tired, I just nodded. He moved behind me pulling him into his lap. “I love you, you did enough just rest now.” He said holding me against his body, rocking me. “I am sorry” I let out softly, it was hard to speak.

“Shhh there is nothing to apologize for” I was so tired. “Let me see you” I said I could feel how weak I sounded. He looked down at me, his grey eyes, they were so beautiful. “I was the bigger monster,” I said, my voice soft. “I know love, I know. Now you go ahead and rest. I will be there in a moment.” He said and I looked at his face one last time, his sharp jaw, his determined look. I loved him, I loved him with my whole being, and then he was gone.
