Chapter 164: Easing him💦🔥
Nora’s POV
The bedroom cast soft shadows,as the moonlight spilled through the curtains, casting silver streaks across the hardwood floor.
I sat on the edge of the bed, my silk night robe slipping off one shoulder, my heart a tangled knot of vengeance and love.
The Lunar Eclipse Festival loomed, my plan to ruin Nelson and Sophia was my main goal. Then the door creaked open, and he stepped in, his broad frame slumped, his face etched with exhaustion and worry, his eyes dark with a weight that made my chest ache.
His scent—pine and leather—filled the room, but it was laced with the sharp tang of worry and stress. My wolf stirred, sensing his turmoil, and I stood, my bare feet soft on the floor, my voice gentle but urgent.
“Ethan,” I said, crossing to him, my hands reaching for his, his skin warm but rough under my touch. “What’s wrong? You look like you carry the world.”
He sighed, his shoulders sagging, his hands gripping mine, his eyes meeting mine which stole my breath. “Landon,” he said, his voice low, rough, edged with frustration. “He hit our pack again, Nora. Dawn ambush, three men down, wounded badly. He’s tightening the noose, trying to break us before the festival. I can’t let it stand. I’m thinking… I need to face him, one-on-one, talk him down, or end him before he tears us apart.”
My heart lurched, fear spiking through me, sharp and cold, my hands tightening on his. Landon’s face flashed in my mind, his cunning, his ruthless hunger for the Alpha of Alphas title.
Ethan was strong, fierce, but Landon was a snake, he's as dangerous as his claws. I stepped closer, my body brushing his, the silk of my robe whispering against his jacket, my voice firm but soft . “That’s a bad idea, Ethan,” I said, my eyes searching his, desperate to protect him. “Landon’s cunning, dangerous. He doesn’t talk—he manipulates, strikes when you’re open. You go to him alone, and he’ll use it, twist it. You can’t trust him.”
Ethan’s jaw tightened, his eyes flashing gold, his wolf stirring, but I saw the doubt flicker, the weight of my words sinking in. “I can’t just wait, Nora,” he said, his voice breaking, his hands sliding to my arms, gripping gently, his touch light. “My men are bleeding, my pack’s on edge. Nelson’s alliance is shaky, and Landon’s rogues are relentless. I have to do something now.”
I shook my head, my heart racing, the thought of losing him to Landon’s treachery set my heart racing. I wouldn’t let him walk into a trap.
“You will,” I said, my voice softening, a plan forming, my hands sliding up his chest, feeling the tension in his muscles, the weight of his fight. “But not like this. Let me help you, Ethan. Let me ease your troubles, clear your mind, so we can face him together, smart, strong.”
I stepped back, my fingers tugging at the tie of my robe, letting it slip from my shoulders, the silk pooling at my feet, revealing my body—Becky’s body, but mine now—curves glowing in the moonlight, my skin bare, a deliberate and tempting offering.
Ethan’s breath caught, his eyes darkening, desire flaring as they roamed over me, a spark that pushed back the worry, the exhaustion.
I moved to him, my hands pulling at his jacket, his shirt, my fingers brushing his skin, warm and taut, as I peeled away the layers of his battle-worn clothes. “Come with me,” I said, my voice low, giving a sultry promise, my lips curving into a smile, my heart pounding with love, with need. “To the bathtub. Let me take care of you.”
He hesitated, his eyes searching mine, torn between duty and the pull of us, but his hands found my hips, his touch hungry, grounding.
“Nora,” he murmured, his voice rough, a plea, as I led him to the bathroom, the tiles cool under my feet, the air warm with steam as I turned on the faucet, the water rushing, a soothing hum.
I helped him out of his boots, his pants, my fingers lingering, teasing his cock, drawing a low growl from his throat, his wolf responding to my touch, my scent—mingling with his.
The bathtub filled up with steam curling, and I guided him in, the water lapping at his skin, his muscles relaxing as he sank down, his eyes never leaving mine.
I knelt beside him, my hands dipping into the warm water, tracing his chest, his scars, each touch a vow to stand with him, to fight for him. “You don’t have to face Landon alone,” I said, my voice firm, as my fingers brushed his jaw, pulling his lips close. “We will do this together—my plan for Nelson and Sophia, your war with Landon. We’re stronger as one.”
He caught my hand, pulling me closer, water splashing as his lips brushed mine, a kiss that was both desperate and tender, his breath hot against my skin. “You’re right,” he said, his voice low, a growl of surrender, his eyes burning with love, with fire. “But I need you, Nora. Not just for this fight—for me.”
I smiled, my heart swelling, my body leaning over the tub, my lips claiming his, the kiss deepening, hungry, a spark that ignited us both.
My hands roamed, slick with water, tracing his shoulders, his chest, drawing a moan that echoed in the steam-filled room.
His hands gripped my hips, pulling me closer, water soaking my skin, our bodies a tangle of need, of solace.
I broke the kiss, my breath ragged, my eyes locked on his, my resolve a fire that matched his own. Landon was a threat, but Ethan was mine, and together, we’d tear through anyone who stood in our way.
The water lapped, the steam curling around us, the world—Landon, Nelson, Sophia—fading as we held each other, a moment of peace before the storm.
My vengeance, his war, were battles we’d fight, but here, now, we were one, unbreakable. I leaned in, my lips brushing his ear, my voice a whisper, fierce and unwavering. “We’ll end Landon, Ethan,” I said, “But tonight, it’s just us. Let me show you how strong we are.”
