Failed Rescue
Justin and his group decided that they will rescue his future mate tonight. He couldn't wait any longer and wanted to be Arabelle's knight in shining armor. His group agrees that they will help him to take her away from the vampire. He didn't tell them the truth that she's actually working in the castle. It's better that way to make his story more plausible. He's afraid that they might not help him out and he will end up without a mate. If his father knew about the real status of him finding a mate, he would be really mad.
“How about the treaty?” one of the werewolves asked.
“We have to break some rules to rescue my future mate.” Justin replies as if he's very sure about everything.
“What if the elders find out?” another werewolf asked.
“They will never know if nobody tells them.” he replied with conviction.
He's aware that if the elders find out what they did, they will all get punished. However, they will be doing a good deed of rescuing a damsel in distress. That's all they needed to know. They don't need to find out that she's working in the castle. He can't let a vampire take away his future mate from him. Although they haven't met even once, he's really sure that she's the one. He tried imprinting on her but the vampire unknowingly made him stop. His planning on marking her once they got her.
It sounds more like kidnapping than rescuing but his group doesn't need to know. He's not going to tell them that since it's for a good reason. For a couple of days, he eavesdropped on the conversations in the castle. He heard that the vampire will be away on Friday night. It's the perfect time for them to rescue Arabelle. He's excited to finally meet her face to face. Once she sees him, he will mark her to be his mate right away. Then she will no longer have a choice but to stay with him.
His plan is full proof he thinks that it will really work. As long as they can get inside the castle, they should find her there. As long as the vampire is not around, they can enter without any issues. Arabelle is a lady and she can't resist a group of werewolves. They are all fast and strong. Even the vampire may not have a fight from all of them. Justin is confident that they will succeed with their plan. He can just distract them while marking his future mate to avoid questions from the group.
“Once the vampire goes out, it's time to get inside.” Justin reminded his group.
They all waited and got ready as the night deepened. It's too dark for humans to see anymore. Good thing they are werewolves because they have night vision. One thing they didn't consider is that vampires can also see through darkness. Ralph already has a hunch that the werewolf from the other day will go back. He even got his little friends with him. Their target is surely Arabelle since one of them wanted to mark her to become his mate.
Ralph gets out from the gate knowing that those werewolves will attack. He needs to give it some time until they are all inside. Once they think that he's gone, he will come back and take care of them. It seems like those kids think that he didn't know their moves. He's almost two hundred years old. Their attics are no longer new to him since he experienced it all. He decided to wait above the fence while watching them. They don't even know where to look. It's funny to watch them in the dark.
“Justin, where is she?” Leo whispers.
“Look inside the rooms!” Justin commands them even if he has no clue where she's staying.
The werewolves tried to check on the doors from the ground floor. They still can't find Arabelle's room in the huge castle. Justin is panicking now because the vampire may come back soon. He also tries to open every door that he sees. Little did they know that her room is just in the middle of the living room. It seems hidden, especially because it's pitch black. Even with their werewolf eyes, they can't see her door in plain sight unless they live there.
Ralph can't take their stupidity anymore and jumps down from the high fence to the castle. These werewolves need to learn how to respect the treaty. They should not be here trying to kidnap his maid. He takes advantage of the darkness and stands in the middle. It seems like they don't even know how their night vision works. They're still trying to open the doors and didn't even notice that he's already there. These cubs seem to not know what they're doing.
“Looking for something?” Ralph asked in a sinister voice.
The werewolves freeze when they hear the vampire's voice. He's already inside the castle with them. The group immediately run hoping to escape before the night turns into a nightmare. Justin is already in front trying to get away from the castle as fast as he can. The group tries to catch up with him. They know they must keep on running away for now. Questions should be asked later once they are already safe. The rescue mission was a failure.
Ralph can't contain his laughter after seeing how fast the cubs run away. It's been a long time since he had a good laugh. He checks on Arabelle who is sleeping soundly without knowing that she almost got kidnapped. After seeing that she's safe, he gently closes her door. He knows that she's excited to go home tomorrow. That's why he made sure that nothing would go wrong before that. Now he feels obligated to look after her to make sure that she will be home safe with her family. Then he suddenly heard heavy breathing from the corners of the castle.
