Chapter 80: It's Chris's turn
Ellasandra's POV
My forehead wrinkled when I arrived in my mansion and Chris was there. I just want to visit my nanny and everyone else here, but I wasn’t expecting him to be here.
What is he doing here? Nanny Wanda approaches me first and drags me into a corner.
"He's been visiting the mansion every night. It’s been five days. I already told him that you were living with your husband in his mansion, but he still came back whenever he wanted," Nanny Wanda explains.
I sighed. I never thought Chris would do this. I thought he already understood what I said. I guess he was serious when he told me that he'd continue his plans of taking me back. I look at Nanny Wanda.
"Please prepare a cup of coffee for us, Nanny Wanda. I’ll speak with him and make sure to clear things up," I said. She sighs and nods.
"If that’s what you want, then I’ll go ahead and prepare some coffee and sandwiches."
She gets inside the house first. I walked toward him and stood in front of him. "What are you doing here, Chris? Didn’t we talk about this matter?" I ask.
He gave me the bouquet of red roses. I grab it and look at him. I still want to speak with him properly.
"Let's get inside. I need to talk to you," I stated.
I walked first, and he followed me. He opens the door for me, but I didn’t smile or show any emotions. We take our seat.
"I guess this house feels like home as always," Chris says. I cross my legs and look at him intently.
"I would be happy to hear that if you’re my friend but you aren’t."
Chris laughs and looks at me with such proud eyes. "I'm not here to ask you to be my friend. We both know what I want from you, sweetheart. Also, I’m determined to steal you away from the man who makes you suffer," he says.
I guess he did his investigation, and he’s aware of what happened between me and Rafael.
"If you think that I’ll change my heart because of the past, you’re wrong, Chris. If you insist on what you believe in, then it’s your choice."
"I won’t give you the answers you want, no matter how you try. If you wish to die alone, then go ahead. It’s not me who will waste his time wanting something that he will never have," I whispered.
Chris suddenly grabbed his phone and showed me something. It’s Ashley and Rafael. They’re eating together.
"Did you know that this place was a hotel and restaurant? I was there having a business meeting with my dad’s friend when your beloved husband and his beloved woman ate together a while ago," he says.
I lean my elbow on the couch’s arm and pin my cheek on my fist. "Then? If they’re fucking each other at this moment. It’s not my choice. I’m the legal wife. She can be a mistress forever," I replied.
He was stunned by what I said, but the smirk in his smug face. He’s trying to make a rift between me and Rafael.
If Matthew was persistent, Chris was the same. They both knew how to cause troubles in my life. He put his phone back inside his coat.
"Is that all? You can leave now," I remarked. He scoffs.
"Ellasandra, I know you well. You hate people who betrayed your trust and make them suffer. You shouldn’t be too proud of yourself. Life is scarier than you think it is. Also, you’ll never be your husband’s priority," he added.
I shrug my shoulder and shake my head, making a 'tsk' sound. "Chris, if you think I’ll leave him or cheat on him because he did, you’re wrong. I knew how to make people suffer. You said it yourself; I’m not someone who makes things slip," I stated.
He smirks and suddenly gives me a lollipop. I remember this brand. This is what he gave me when we first met. We meet in school when we’re five years old. "Thank you," I said.
I keep it but I don’t have any plans to eat it. There’s a chance that he made this and had any drugs on it. It’s better to be careful. He finished his coffee and looks at me.
"I'll go ahead. This won’t be the last. Good night, sweetie. I love you," Chris says.
He leaves with a smile. Nanny Wanda was the one who sent him out. I lean my back on the couch and massage my shoulder. I’m really tired from all of this.
"I don’t feel pretty at all because of those men who are pestering me."
Nanny Wanda came in, and she looked at me with such worried eyes. I sighed and massaged my forehead.
"I already knew from the start that Chris loved you. I saw that in your teenage years. I thought you two would be together, but I guess life is really predictable," Nanny Wanda says.
She’s right. I thought I’m just a normal girl who got a crush on a man I met in Berlin, but when I knew things were going south, I asked for medical opinion and learned that I’m obsessed with Rafael. I sighed deeply.
"I know Chris won’t stop until I do something. At this moment, I don’t know what I should do. Maybe if I showed him how happy I am. Then he will stop. For now, I want to focus on making happy memories with my son and husband," I stated.
Nanny Wanda smiled and tapped my shoulder. "On that birthday party, I saw how happy Mikael is. Your husband also. He really wants to prove that the second chance you gave was more than worth it. I saw that clearly," Nanny Wanda says. I smiled sweetly.
"I saw that myself. That’s why I want to keep myself checked and protect my marriage, nanny Wanda. Anyway, I will be eating dinner here with you. It’s been a week since we stayed at my husband’s house. I already miss you, nanny. So... cook my favorite food, maybe?" I suggest.
Nanny Wanda chuckled and nodded. She stood up. "I'll make your favorite soup then," she says.
I smiled and watched her as she headed into the kitchen. I grab my phone and message my husband. I told him that I’ll stay for dinner here tonight and go home before eight in the evening.
I went upstairs and took a shower. I want to freshen up and change my clothes. I grab one of the books from the shelves and start to read. I wonder if book seven of this saga was already released.
I better check my Amazon app. After almost an hour, someone knocks on my door. "Come in," I replied while I continued reading this book.
