Chapter 43: 43
"Dhruv was asking about you. You should have not given him false hope about meeting him again. I know you'll not like to interact him...I mean you have your own life. All I was saying, that little kid was really eager to meet you and it's like his everyday routine to ask me about you." Max said once we were away from Tara and Vishal.
I pressed my lips together in guilt. Due to everything happening, I almost forgot about Dhruv. How can I be so stupid? I promised him to meet him soon.
"Sorry. It wasn't like I don't want to see him. In fact I am so much attached to that cute child but it's just...I-I. Sorry. I would love to meet him soon, I hope you won't mind." His face broke into smile and he shook his head in amusement.
"No Mayra, I won't mind."
"So you never told me that you are actually Mayra Saxena, daughter and heir of Mr. Saxena." He shifted the topic and to say that curiosity was visible on his face would be true.
Wait. How did he know this? No one's know about this except Rehan.
"Ah. Come on, I have my ways." He answered my unasked question. I knitted my eyebrows in confusion and gave him a look to explain further.
"Okay fine. I heard your father talking to you over phone after a meeting. At first I thought that I was just hallucination but later when he mentioned Rehan's name then it all went clear."
I nodded.
"Damn that Rehan. He really is a lucky bastard. Now he'll get more powerful by combining his company with your father's one. I wish I had found you earlier." He joked before faking a sad face. I laughed and playfully punched him on his shoulder.
"You really are something else Max."
"Why thank you ma'am." In horrible British accent, he said making us laugh again.
As I was laughing along with Max suddenly my eyes fell on the very familiar pair of mesmerizing brown eyes and then everything froze.
Those eyes were staring deep into mine with such intensity that my heart was like it would miss a beat. There was nothing more than hurt which was reflecting from them. I blinked breaking the eye contact. His eyes quickly changed their posture as they were snapped back to reality. After staring at me with hollow emotion, his eyes moved over my body. I shivered under his strong gaze. The anger, rage, hate started burning into those mesmerizing brown orbs making them scary enough to not to look into them.
His penetrating deep stare move to surrounding then finally on Max who was next to me. Through my periphery I found Max giving me strange look and soon his eyes landed on Rehan. I quickly took a step back and pressed my eyes shut.
This is not good.
"Why don't you come and dance with me baby?" Confusion clouded over me at Max's changed tone but before I can process anything, he pulled me to the dance floor by my wrist.
"What are you..." He stopped me in middle of my word by pressing his finger over my lips. He smirked and wrapped his arm around my waist.
"Why haven't I thought earlier about this? Rehan is here. Great." He said under his breath and that's when I tried to wriggle out of his hold.
Max is doing this purposely to bring complications between me and Rehan.
"Max, let me go." I said whilst trying my best to move away from him but he pulled me further to his chest. My vision blurred with tears when he dipped his face into crook of my neck.
I am sure Rehan was looking me like this. He will get the wrong message again. My heart started thumping harder and my body stilled. Really Mayra, you are stupid. Stupid enough to believe that everyone will turn out good. This was Max. That Max about whom Rehan had warned but still I thought otherwise. He had said that I am like his sister. Then how could he treat me like this? Just because he hates Rehan that doesn't means for hurting him he has to do this sick act.
Tilting my head I spot Rehan who was looking at us. His face was full of hurt. For a moment, I thought that why wasn't he angry? He has to be but instead there was hurt which was enough to shatter my heart.
"Hey brother, I must say your wife kisses like a pro." Max screamed to Rehan with a constant smirk guiding over his face. My eyes fell on the floor being unable to watch the pain passing through Rehan's face.
Why Max is doing all this? He was not like this the day when he was talking about his sister and her son.
My every thoughts became numb when I saw Rehan storming out of the club with unexplainable expression. Why? Why always me? Why can't I explain myself? Why I have to trust everyone? Why I can't I be normal?
I laughed bitterly at my current situation. I am not sane. I couldn't be. After all which sane person will tolerate all this? Now I am tired of being like this. If being normal means being selfish enough to think only about oneself then I want to be the normal one. At least then I would have my happiness; my Rehan.
"I am sorry for dragging you in all this mess but believe me what I am doing is worth if it hurts that bastard Rehan. He's a fucking monster and he needs to be rot in hell." I looked up at him in disbelief.
Who gave him this right to call Rehan as monster? Max might have some issues with him in the past but just because he had a dark past that doesn't mean he's monster.
"Monsters doesn't rot in hell, they love hell. That is why no human is monster because everyone deserves happiness instead of other way." I said, forcing a fake smile and maintained better distance with him.
I thought that he will counter me back using another response but he laughed which sounded more like he was challenging my words.
"You look cute when you are angry."
Ignoring him I shook my head and looked around to find where Vishal and Tara were. First of all I need to go away from here, not to Rehan but to somewhere to clear my mind and collect enough mental strength to face him afterward.
"I love him Max. I love him with everything I have. If ever you had felt a little genuineness in my friendship with you Max then please stop. Just stop making my life difficult with Rehan. You don't know Rehan. He's not what he looks like. He has heart and that too full of emotions but the only problem with him is that his heart is carrying wounds. So spare my married life, I need to make him happy and if you try again to come in my way then trust me I will no longer hesitate to cut all my ties with you. No one... No one is more important for me than Rehan and his happiness." Letting my heart out, I sighed.
His face became rock like and next I know my wrist was tightly grabbed by him who then dragged me towards the exit. Once reaching outside where was no one except Vishal and Tara.
Vishal came forward and punched directly onto Max's jaw. He held his jaw and glared at him.
"How dare you to pull that disgusting game in front of Rehan?" Vishal asked through clenched teeth but Max just laughed in response.
"FUCK OFF VISHAL." He screamed in sudden thunderous tone then walked away.
What is wrong with him?
***
MAX'S POV
She loves him? She loves that disgusting murder?
Rehan doesn't deserve her love. Hell, that filthy piece of crap was himself not capable of loving her back but for sure there's something he feels for her and that little feel is enough for me to make him suffer. When Mayra will leave him then he will realize that how much it hurts to suffer the loss of that person who means something to heart. He will realize the pain, the wound which I had felt only because of him.
You thinks that he has heart? No Mayra that's where you were wrong. Your husband is nothing but a heartless motherfucker. If only he has heart then today I had not lost her.
You had told me that you'll cut all ties with me Mayra, if I come in between you and that Rehan? Guess what. You will cut every ties with your sick husband when you'll get to know about him, his deeds, his past; the real him who is far worse than the fucking nightmare.
"Uncle Max I want ice cream." Dhruv poked me and when I turned my face towards him, a genuine happiness ran through my heart.
"Okay but first tell me that who's the best uncle?" I asked whilst pulling him in my arms.
"You!" He laughed and brushed his fingers lightly over my face.
I chuckled in content and kissed his forehead.
He's the only thing left which can bring some smile to my face. Mayra thinks only his Rehan is unhappy and deserves every happiness in this world? What about me? What about my happiness which he had snatched away?
Grabbing the ice cream from freezer, I placed Dhruv on the couch and sat next to him.
"Promise me that you'll go school tomorrow." But instead of agreeing to whatever I said, he kept quiet and soon a frown took over his face.
"Is there anything wrong baby? Why are you reluctant to attend school from few days?" I asked in concerned but he didn't replied.
Okay. Definitely there is something wrong.
"Dhruv?"
"NO. NO I WILL NOT GO." His eyes filled up with tears and he hide his face on my shoulder.
"All my friends have Mommy and Daddy. Sahil's Mommy cooks for him and feed him with her own hand, Niti's Daddy takes her to the park and that boy who sat on the last bench... he's not even good at studies, he always fight but still he says to me that his Mommy and Daddy loves him. Everyone laughs at me in the school because I don't have my Mommy and Daddy."
My body went rigid and closing my eyes shut, I tried to clear the suffocation which was building inside me.
You really deserve hell Rehan.
