Chapter: 51 (she is out of danger)

He was standing outside of the OT with his accelerated heartbeats. It's been three hours since she was taken inside the operation theatre. The bullet hit just four inches above her heart. The doctor said her condition was critical and they can't be sure if she could make it up or not and he felt his heart stop beating. He was in so much pain and guilt was eating him that she took the bullet to save him. If something happens to her then he will die, he can't live without her. His eyes were staring at the door of OT aimlessly.

All the family members were there Ashwini was also inside the operation theatre with the doctor's team treating Seher.

Everyone was crying and praying for her. Mayank was vulnerable, he was too numb to feel anything. Tears were continuously rolling down his cheeks. His heart was bleeding in pain.

"Mayank, don't be weak. She will be fine. You have to be strong for her" his mom said, caressing his head. "I can't live without her mom, why does she come in between?" he asked, crying like a child in front of his mother. "Because she loves you" her mother answered him and he stared at her with tears in his eyes.

"She has to be fine. I can't even thank her enough because of her my son is standing in front of me safe and sound, nothing happens to those who save the lives of others by taking the risk of their own life" she said and hugged him.

He was sitting on the bench palming his face when Ansh came to him. "Be strong Mayank, she will be fine," Ansh said as he put one hand on his shoulder to encourage him. "I will never be able to forgive myself if something happened to her" his pain was clearly visible in his voice. Ansh felt sad for his best friend. He always sees him strong and positive, he never lets his emotions fall in front of anyone. Ansh never saw him this vulnerable, not even when Seher left him.

"Have faith in God, everything will be fine" he said in the end and he nodded nonetheless wiping his tears.

The bullet was about to hit Mayank but Seher took the bullet instead. The doctor came out of the OT along with Ashwini and he ran towards him. "How is she? She is fine, right?" He was bombarded with the questions. "We took the bullet out but she has lost so much blood" Ashwini answered with the heavy voice pulling out her mask.

"Doctor there is a shortage of 'O' positive blood in the blood bank of our hospital" a nurse informed them. "What? We need 'O' positive blood right now. Ask for the blood from the outside blood bank" Ashwini said and the nurse left after nodding.

"Mayank, any of you have 'O' positive blood group?" Asked Ashwini. "I have a 'B' positive blood group," he said. None of the family member's blood groups matches with her after the test.

"I will do something," he said and fished out his phone to dial a number. "My blood group is 'O' positive. I will donate the blood" a voice turned their attention towards itself. "Who are you?" Mayank asked suspiciously. "I will introduce myself later. Let me donate blood first. She is in need" she said and walked towards the doctors when Mayank halted her steps.

"I asked,'' Who are you? Why are you intending to donate the blood to the stranger" He asked in his cold voice.

"Priya, Samar's elder sister," she answered. He fisted his palm to control his anger, his blood boiled hearing the name he doesn't want to. "So you came here to deal with me by donating her blood you want to release your brother," he asked, trying hard not to shout at her.

"No Mayank, you are taking me wrong. It's not like that I came here because I wanted to ask forgiveness... " he cuts her off.

"We don't need your favor. I am here for her" he said coldly. "Mayank please, she is like a sister to me, I know what Samar did was unforgivable but... " he didn't let her complete. "Because of HIM, she is fighting between life and death" he shouted and she flinched abruptly.

"Don't shout Mayank, this is a hospital, and think practically. She needs blood right now. It can be dangerous for her and we can't take the risk" Ashwini said, knocking some sense into his mind.

He can't take the risk of her life. He will do anything to save her if he has to take help from his enemy or anyone, he will. In the end, he agreed and doctors took her inside. After half an hour she came out of the room and he walked towards her. "Thanks for your favor but don't worry I will repay you this favor very soon," he said without looking at her.

"I didn't do any favor Mayank. I am just paying back. Your anger is justified but believes me, he is truly regretting now. He wanted to shoot you but she came in between and took the bullet instead to save you" the guilt was visible in her voice. "I will not spare him. He will pay for his wrongdoings and trust me when I say it I mean it" he said, gritting his teeth, anger blazing in his eyes.

"Everyone gets punished for their mistakes and he will get it too. I didn't come here to save him I came here for Seher" she said truthfully she was truly guilty. Mayank didn't say anything and turned to another side. She walked out taking the last glance at Seher from the window.

He was pacing to and for impatiently. His heart was restless. His head was wrapped in a bandage as he also got hurt. He was feeling pain, not in his wound but in his heart for Her.

After a while, Ashwini and the doctor came out of the operation theatre. She took off her mask and smiled. "She is out of danger" she announced and relieved washed over him. He let out a breath which he was holding don't know how long. His heart felt peace after hearing the news.

"Can... can I meet her aunty?" he asked Ashwini as he was desperate to see her. "We need to keep her under observation. She will gain her consciousness in the midnight or in the morning" she said and his face fell only he knew how desperate he was to take a glance of her "but you can meet her after we shift her in the private ward" she said and he smiled nodding his head.

All the family members were happy after hearing the news. His mother hugged him "She is fine mom, nothing happened to her" he said more to himself and his mother nodded smiling with teary eyes. She was thankful to her and the love and respect for Seher grew more in her heart.

After a couple of hours, he finally got a chance to meet her. He was standing at the threshold holding the doorknob tightly. His heart was beating rapidly. He took a deep breath wiping his tears and pushed the door slightly.

He stepped inside, closing the door behind him, he walked towards her. She was laying on the hospital bed with an IV drip attached to her hand. His heart clenched seeing her in pain.
