Chapter 50 Unreasonable Man
Jing's words were filled with anger. Right after the class, he asked Lilly if she had a boyfriend, to ensure she was free and to make up his mind about going...
But now the man holding Lilly had said he was her boyfriend?
He'd been secretly watching Lilly for a long time and hadn't thought she was such a promiscuous girl who resorted to tricks, so why had she lied to him?
When Ethan heard that Lilly had personally told him she didn't have a boyfriend, his heart sank.
No boyfriend? Even if there wasn't a fake boyfriend like him, wasn't Karl her boyfriend?
Thinking about this, Ethan was overjoyed, but the next second, Lilly and Ziyan's conversation from the previous day flashed back to his mind.
Lilly had personally confessed to Ziyan that she had a boyfriend, so why did she deny it to Jing?
Shawn's gaze grew cold, and he suddenly felt the girl in his arms so unrecognizable that he shuddered.
After a year of separation, was she already so treacherous, or... was this her true face, one she had never seen clearly?
"I..." Lilly hesitated. She didn't know what the two men in front of her were thinking. She truly had no way to defend herself from Jing's questions.
The relationship between her and Ethan was fictitious, so she didn't actually have a boyfriend. She hadn't lied when she answered Jing, but now Ethan had told Jing that he was her boyfriend.
She couldn't directly say that he wasn't; that would have been too embarrassing for Ethan. Based on previous experience, if she hadn't cooperated with Ethan... after all, the other side would definitely find plenty of ways to force her to submit.
So Lilly decided to remain silent and feign ignorance. In her opinion, Ethan was now more terrifying than Jing. She would rather insult Jing than Ethan.
Her silence completely angered them, and they both simultaneously grabbed her by the shoulders.
"Sir, you, Ethan, if you two don't let her go, I'll call the police." Yulia, who had come downstairs and witnessed this scene, angrily stood behind Lilly and threatened them.
Lilly nodded with tears in her eyes, completely agreeing with Yulia's words.
The two men simultaneously released her. Seeing Lilly's fair, rounded shoulders covered in red fingerprints, they immediately became angry.
"Go back to your room," Ethan glanced at Lilly's dress and said coldly, "Change into the skirt you usually wear."
"Huh? Why?" Lilly was perplexed. She had spent a long time preparing for this spring evening dress. How could she just change like that!
"The dinner is still two hours away. It's at least an hour's drive from here to there." Ethan didn't respond, only coldly reminding her.
Lilly stared at Ethan for over ten seconds, and seeing his composure, she instantly became enraged by his incomprehensible behavior and abandoned any idea of cooperation.
She didn't want to deal with this unreasonable man anymore!
Jing was a professor in her specialty. If he truly misunderstood that she had lied to him and considered her honesty questionable, it would likely have a significant impact on her final grades if he left a bad impression.
Thinking about this, Li Yu walked up to Jing and whispered, "sir, I didn't lie to you, but it's a long and complicated story. I'll explain it to you later."
Lilly quickly finished speaking, stealing a glance at Ethan. Seeing Ethan narrow his eyes and seeming about to attack, she quickly turned around and dashed back to the apartment in two steps with Yulia.
"You think he's weird? He really is weird. There's no one weirder than him in the world!" Lilly returned to the room and angrily went to the closet to sort through her clothes.
"This is rather strange," Yulia repeated pointedly. Suddenly, something occurred to him, and he pulled Lilly out. He stared at the fine fingerprints on her right shoulder. "It's okay that your Ethan has always been so strange, but what's wrong with Sir?"
"What do you mean, your Ethan? Who's related to him? I don't want anything to do with such a psychopath!" Lilly muttered insincerely, looking at her right shoulder, and immediately drooping. "I also want to know what's going on with Sir."
"You grabbed him pretty hard," Yulia commented carefully, examining the red and blue marks.
Lilly smiled bitterly and rubbed her aching shoulder. "My neck was already a terrible mess thanks to Ethan, that huge poisonous snake. If it weren't for the powder, I could have hidden it from afar. But now, these two big lumps on my shoulders are completely undisguised."
There's no time to cover them up now. In the hot summer, whether it's off-the-shoulder, with suspenders, or half-off-the-shoulder, I can't wear them!
"It's a shame my skirt doesn't suit you. It's too urgent now, and I can't borrow one from anyone else," Yulia said regretfully.
She's taller than Lilly and doesn't like wearing short skirts. She has more T-shirts and jeans in her closet than skirts. Yes.
If Lilly were to wear the few skirts she owned, she'd have to scrub the floor for everyone else the whole way.
"Isn't today appropriate for going out? What a shame!" Lilly howled angrily and continued searching through her closet.
Yulia also turned and searched through her closet, then pulled out a white T-shirt. "Oh, do you have a blue floral print skirt with suspenders? You can wear this skirt in one size."
When Yulia said this, Lilly immediately remembered that she had just such a skirt, a knee-length fishtail hem that perfectly matched the thin white batwing-sleeved T-shirt in Yulia's hand.
Lilly quickly pulled out the skirt she remembered from the closet, took the T-shirt Yulia handed her, hugged her tightly, and joyfully shouted, "I love you madly!"
Yulia dismissively pushed her face away when she approached to kiss her: "Hurry up and change, or your man will keep calling you."
Lilly happily carried the clothes and skirt into the bathroom, then stuck her head out to sternly criticize her: "I told you he's not mine, he's already taken, and he's too crazy, I don't need him!"
"Forget it," Yulia waved her hand, signaling her to leave.
Lilly smiled and stepped back, continuing to change.
After changing, she discovered that although the T-shirt Yulia had given her was white, it wasn't very see-through. It hid the marks on her shoulders well enough and was quite cool to the touch.
"How?" Lilly called her over for advice, a little worried that her hair and the dress wouldn't go together.
"Pretty nice," Yulia examined it carefully, "but still too casual for a dinner."
"I know, but it can't be helped. I don't have a dress in my closet. Okay, I'm leaving," Lilly sighed, picked up her bag, opened the door, and prepared to leave.
"By the way, this dinner shouldn't end too late. I have to perform at Romantica tonight. You haven't been there in a while. Yesterday, Simo and the others were talking about you. Don't forget to come and support me tonight.”
