Chapter 16: Court room

Aleyna looked at the reflection, she looked at her light pink lipstick then frowned, it was too much for court room. She dabbed the cotton ball in make remover and was about to clean it when her phone pinged. She bit her lip and glanced at her phone. Dev was outside, she had asked him not to ring the bell because the things had just gotten better between them and it was early morning for everyone. They must have been sleeping. 'coming,' she typed back before she kept the cotton ball aside and walked out of her room to get the door. "Ali, you are going somewhere?" Nihalika asked as she saw aleyna was ready in her outfit. "I am visiting the court room with Dev today," She said glancing at nihalika. "Okay, tell him I said hi, I have to hurry," without letting her ask anything else nihalika walked back to her room. Aleyna opened the door and saw Dev standing outside with his sunglasses. "Hey," aleyna said with a smile. "Hii," dev said, aleyna could sense he was a little bit stressed about everything. "Come on in," Aleyna said as he walked inside the house. "I'll take a few minutes, okay?" Aleyna said. "You look perfect love, you need to change your pad or something?" Dev asked as he walked near her and kept his arms on her waist. Aleyna kept her head on his shoulder and shook her head," no," she replied. " Then?" He asked placing a kiss on her head. "This lipstick is too loud, I just nee dtp wipe it off," Aleyna said with a pout as she looked at Dev. He frowned and looked at her lips, he liked the color very much. Stealing a peck from her lips, he said," nope, they taste just fine," Aleyna chuckled and hit his chest playfully. "Not that way baba, it's too loud for court room," she replied but Dev did not left her waist, he held her close to his chest as Alyena kept her head near his heart, she loved to hear his heartbeat. It was like a different Lullaby. Always luring him to peace "Ali, are you sure you want to see that side of me," Dev asked after a minute of silence. "Dev, we are getting married, I deserve to see every side of you and you deserve to be free in every way with your partner," aleyna said as she looked into his eyes. "I wish to know you Dev, every part of you," Aleyna replied as dev nodded. "If you cancel the wedding then we are running away from our own wedding, deal?" Dev asked. He was afraid his Ali's prospective about him was going to chance. "Ha ha ha, deal," She replied with a laugh and encircled her arms around his neck. "Dev, my feelings for you are not going to chance ever," she said when she read the doubt and uncertainty in his eyes. He visibility relaxed, he was about to put his lips on hers when she put her hand on his lips. He raised his eyebrows asking her why she stopped him. "No kisses, it's 7:15 am already," she tried as she took her bag from the room and walked with Dev. Dev forwarded his hand to her as she held it tightly, for the first time, a smile was adoring Dev's face when he was leaving for court room. He was sure, his orphan self had found a home in Aleyna. . It was about 9.30 when they reached the court room. "Sir," Dev's assistant greeted him when he saw Dev's car. Dev nodded at him and stopped the car. He looked at aleyna and helped her to get rid of the seat belt as she looked at him. "You'll be fine," she said holding his hand. "I will be preparing and looking after afew documents before the court proceedings, you can stay by my side or roam around if you want," he said as Aleyna nodded. "I want to stay with you if that won't cause a problem, I will be quite," aleyna said as Dev smiled. "It will be a pleasure Ali," he relied before he opened his side of door and walked towards the other side to open hers. "Morning sir, morning mam," his assistant greeted as Aleyna and Dev nodded at him "Nikhil, you park the car, I will look after the documents," Dev said, still holding Aleyna's hand in his. "Sure sir," nikhil relied before he took the car keys and went ahead to park the car. "Baby, you mind holding this for a second," Dev said as he handed aleyna the files Nihkil had with him. Aleyan held them as Dev looked for the pendrive in his pocket. " Ali, I can't find the pen drive!" All the colors left his face when he looked into his pocket again. "Look around maybe it fell down?" She asked looking around them. Suddenly dev vividly remembered he kept his handkerchief on the table near Aleyna's room when he was.waiting for her and something had fell down. "Oh fuck!" He crused. "What happened?" She asked. "I think I left it near the table at your apartment, shit" he said panicking that is a solid proof that his client is not innocent. "Dev relax, you must have a copy of that no?" She asked. "In my other phone but that will open only with my fingerprint," Dev replied. "Alright we can still fix this, you go in, I will bring it," aleyna said walking away from him in hurry. Aleyna walked to the parking lot and saw nikhil was about to put the car in there when she stopped him taking the handle from him and not giving him a chance she took the car away and drove as fast as she could. She needed to save dev and this case. She can't let anything happen to him or anyone else. Dev trusted her with this.
