Chapter 95 Chapter 95 In the Pit Cell
Gabriel’s POV
“AH!” I screamed heavily in the pit cell. Something large in the water had cut my feet and entered into my body.
It moved like a worm in my body. The more it crept in my body, the more I felt the pain.
“AHH!” I screamed loudly. It crept upwards. I saw its sign on my leg now. Then on my stomach side. It crept more upwards until it eventually came out of my ear.
And like I guessed right, this was a large worm with no sign of the head or its tail. It was as long as a baby snake, and it stuck in my ear opening like it was getting some fresh air and was going to return inside when it was done.
My heart raced. The pain I experienced when it crept in my body was so torturing. I couldn’t allow this to happen again.
Hence, I shook my head rapidly, bent it sideways, and turned the ear of which it was downwards.
I just wanted it to fall off, but it felt like it glued itself there. No amount of pressure from me, no amount of shaking my head, got it off me.
It stayed like that for the entire day and night, down to the moment the jailers arrived back.
I was taken to this pit cell in the morning, and I was taken out of it the next morning.
So many insects, flies, worms, and even bugs had gotten on me. They had fed with my flesh, they had sucked my blood. I had seen hell in this moment that felt like forever.
Hence, the moment I set my eyes on the jailers, it felt as though I saw my savior. “Please.” I pleaded.
“Get me out of here!” I said, my voice low and tired.
One of the jailers touched my face with the tip of his finger. He turned it to the right and to the left.
“Seems like you really enjoyed your time here.” he teased, and he smirked clearly.
Then he nodded to the one beside him. Instantly, both of them rose to their feet and walked to my wrist. They unclogged the chains fastened to my wrist and took their hands to their holsters.
“Get out!” the jailer on the right instructed.
Seeing how they took their hands to their holsters, I knew they were ready to attack if I tried anything funny because my hands were loose.
This place was a long, long corridor before we got to the pit cell. And the corridor was such a dark corridor that no one was able to see a thing aside from the shallow light that pierced through the roof of the pit cell.
I knew with this, that if I attacked any of the jailers here, no one would know. But that these jailers were also standing at alert? Only an inmate who wanted to die would make that move, and such an inmate was not me.
I got out of the pit slowly. “Your hands behind your back.” the same jailer instructed again.
Just then, he took his pistol out of his holster and stepped a distance away. He pointed his gun at me like he wanted to shoot me. His face was devoid of any type of smile.
My heart raced. “Please.” I pleaded once again. But he said nothing.
Then, he nodded to the jailer on my left. With this, the jailer nodded back at him. They passed a silent message. The jailer on the left walked closer to me.
He grabbed my hands firmly and handcuffed them immediately. He bent to the floor and cuffed my ankles in the same manner.
He pushed me. “Walk!” he ordered. Just then, the other jailer sank his pistol back into his holster and walked on.
We got to a room; it looked like the bath hall. But it was not the bath hall. It was a bathing room.
It looked so clean, so sterilized, like it was a place the inmates were not allowed to use.
“Come in, Mr. Moretti.” the system voice blared suddenly, and with this, one of the jailers behind me pushed me inside and then closed the door.
Just as I stepped in, I saw the bright light in the room behind me dim, and the wall of the bathroom suddenly became transparent.
This way, I saw that the wall was not really a wall. It was somewhat a computer-type of wall glass, which could become solid or transparent at the press of a button.
On the other side of the glass, I saw a woman in a suit sitting down, crossing her legs over each other.
She held a cigar in the middle of her fingers and blew smoke from her nose and mouth at the same time.
She was wearing a suit, and her suit jacket was hung around her shoulders, making her look as though she was the richest woman on earth.
Right beside her, three men in suits stood. They were all wearing the same kind of white hat like that of cowboys.
“Is he the one?” the woman asked. She leaned her neck forward as she spoke into the mic on the desk right a bit to her right in front of her.
“Yes, ma’am.” one of the men in the hat said.
“He killed him in self-defense. I don’t think we should persecute him for that.” another man in a hat said.
“We will see about that.” the woman said. She rolled her eyes to the side and exhaled another smoke.
“Tell him to strip!” the woman ordered.
“Strip, Mr. Moretti!” one of the men in the hat leaned to the mic on the desk right in front of him as he said.
I was confused about what they meant, even when the words they said were simple. What do they mean I should strip?
Instantly, the room color changed to a flickering red. Smoke flushed into the room, and an emergency sound exploded.
“AHH!” I screamed immediately. My skin burned as if I was thrown into a forge.
“When I tell you to strip, you strip, Mr. Moretti.” the man in the hat said again.
