Chapter 24: A Lie 4
Mary's pov
“Get me the liquor,” I said to the maid at my service. It was so much for me to bear, I needed something that'll help relieve the oajn and liquor was the answer. “Here it is ma'am,” she answered after which I directed her to drop it on the table.
“What did Jayden think he's doing, he thinks he can lead me on and just let me be that afterwards?” I said after taking a rough sip. I couldn't stop thinking about the beautiful moments we had before he lost his senses. “I love someone else he said,” He said. I scoffed. “How stupid of him!” I said after another quick sip.
“It must be the stupid lady,” I said in complete disgust. “How could he love someone like her? I'm more beautiful…more classy…urghhhh,” I shouted as I threw the glass against the wall. I started breathing heavily. The little task was draining. Maybe because I could feel the same pain the glass must have felt. “We could easily be thrown away and forgotten no matter how useful we were,” I said in deep pain.
I squatted to pick up the broken pieces of glass I found and tried to fix it. That was an impossible task but trying to fix it kept me busy in thoughts. “I must do something,” I thought as I considered the voluntary task. All I do was hurt myself whenever I tried to remember the wonderful experiences I shared with Jayden. “But I must not give up,” I tried to encourage myself.
I knew I needed to act fast. But then, the first want out was to figure out the source of the problem. I quickly moved back to my seat to get a perfect position for thinking out a solution. “She’s the problem,” I concluded. “But I must meet Jayden,”
That was the best way to begin this mission.
I quickly called on the maid to help get me ready. “Why are you so sluggish?” I asked Sara in disgust. “Leave!” I commanded. As minutes passed, I felt the urgency to meet with Jayden increased. So, I went straight to his house but it was locked.
“Hmmmm..why do I feel Jayden is trying to avoid me? He left because he knew I was going to look for him soon…what the heck has gone into him?” I asked almost tearing up. I stood at the door for sometime
“I want to see the Alpha!” I said to the guards I found outside the pack house. They directed me to the large balcony. “I need to see the Alpha,” I repeated to the next cheated I found. “Wait here,” He said. I couldn't sit because it was an emergency.
The guard came out of the building but didn’t move towards my direction.
“Hey…over here,” I said loudly. I thought he had not seen me and after calling him, he still didn't respond. Now I knew he was definitely ignoring me. “Hey you! Didn't you hear me?” I said. “Ma'am. The Alpha isn't in the mood to see anyone,” he answered rudely. “Why..huh?” I interrupted. “I'm afraid I'll have to send you out of here, you're been a nuisance to the environment,” “Oh hell, you dare not!” I said in deliberate preparation for a fight.
“Take this crazy lady outta here,” the guard ordered the others. “How could they be so rude?” I was so frustrated and at that point couldn't think of any way out of this twisted case. So I headed back home. “I need a break!” I said after a long yawn.
I headed back home but decided to take a shorter route, kinda bushy but I really needed to get home quickly. I felt my knees were beginning to shake. So I movee as fast as I could. “Wait a minute!” I said as I paused a bit, I sighted a lady and a guy. “Jayden!! Oh my gosh…how could he?” I said aloud in anger.
I confidently walked towards their direction. He was holding the lady's hand. She was always with Jayden, she was the one I was looking for -his lover. But she looked so innocent. “Well, well, it's the Innocent faces that does so much wrong in secret,” I thought to myself.
“Baby…”I called, fully aware of the young lady beside him. I did that to make her understand my place in his life. I tried to touch him but he pushed me away with a deep frown. I wasn't surprise at this because this has been the way he has been treating me lately. “What are you doing here?” he asked with a face I could tell was of disgust.
“Why? Because you're with this lady? Who is she, Jayden?” I asked, almost tearing up. “Let's go home,” I said again, ignoring the lady. He pushed me this time and I couldn't hold back those tears anymore. “Mary, I've told you countless times, let me be. This woman right here is…is the love of my life,” he said calmly as he held her hands even tighter.
My heart broke more. I wondered how and why he was sounding like this. This was the man who was crazy about me months ago. “Or was it in my head?” I simply questioned myself in their presence as it was too much for him to bear. I finally turned to look at the lady who was beside him, by this time, tiny waters had already rolled down my cheek.
She just gave a pathetic look and I couldn't even say a word to her. I simply turned to Jayden and whispered “Please!” but he turned his face away, so fierce and merciless. Please. Go!” He said as he stretched his hands towards the angle I had come from. I silently moved backwards, cleaned my eyes and turned my back.
“Go have some rest, Mary. You look pale,” he said as he grabbed the lady's hand again. I couldn't tell if that was a mockery or was spoken out if genuine care and concern. Well, I doubted if it was a word spoken out of love, all he had for me now was hate and disgust.
