Chapter 82: Meeting Lyell

Karla’s POV

We have been living in a hotel in Pascagoula, Mississippi. It is a crap hotel, is the only way to describe it. It was not nice to me at all. I mean, it is OK, but I am used to living in a nicer home, and this just does not compare. How in the world does it have a 4 star rating? Momisn't happy here, and she hasn’t spoken directly to me since we got kicked out of Dark Marsh. She blames me for this whole thing when she literally came up with the whole plan. Unfortunately for me, Dad has done nothing but talk to me. He is so angry and frustrated at what I had done. We had a perfect life there. He and mom had nothing to worry about, and now we are out here basically rogues, and it was my fault.

Dad is looking for a home for us to live in. I doubt that Steven will be staying with us for long. He is already sleeping with one of the bartenders at the hotel, and she is wrapped around his finger. She has already asked him if he wants to move in with her, and I think that he is going to. He doesn’t want to stay with us anymore. Dad is sad at having to leave the pack, angry at me and Steven for causing this whole thing. He is also frustrated at having to figure out a way for us all to make money, now that we don't have the protection of the pack anymore.

My friends Ashley, and Aria, are here with their families too, and they are also looking for a home to rent. We have all had to go out and get jobs, and that was an insult in itself. I was a trained warrior, just like my brother, and father were. Really the only thing that we are going to be able to do, is start our own business. We had already put some thought into it. We didn’t know how to run a register, and didn’t want to learn how either. We know nothing about working retail, or the latest clothing trends. Dad thought that the best thing to do was start doing security, like personal bodyguards, or for us to do private investigation.

That would be the smart thing to do for us. With our heightened senses, we would excel at either of those jobs. We voted on it, all three of our families, as we are in the same boat. Dad felt that we should try our hand at doing both, to see which one would take off faster. He was desperate for us to be able to have some sort of financial security, as the money that he had put back was going to go fast. Dad felt that having me, Aria, and Ashley work the private investigation end of it, would be best. Most men wouldn’t suspect a woman to do that job, as it was a primarily male dominated field. We had to dress plainly, to try to blend into the background, but we already had our first two cases.

We had been hired by two women right off the bat. One of them hired us to follow her husband. The other one, to follow her fiancé. Both were wanting us to find out if they were cheating. They were, and we got them the proof that they needed. Although the women were disappointed, it was fast money for us. We were all happy about the success of our new business. Dad had also had some success, as he and Steven now had a few clients. Dad wanted us to move to New Orleans now as he felt that the need for personal security, and private investigating, would be greater if we moved back to Louisiana. He is probably right, I just suggested this area because I was going to try to pay Evie back.

I had overheard them talking at Dark Marsh. I found out that her parents had been the Alpha and Luna of the Moss Point pack. I knew that she had been on the way here the mornign that we put my plan into action. Jake just couldn’t run off without making sure the pack was taken care of. He had already ordered a detail of warriors to come with them. Steven and I heard about that before we had left the pack. I was hoping that we might run into each other, as we were close to where that pack was. I wasn’t the only one, as Ashley and Aria were out for blood too. We all hoped that we could take out our anger on her if we found her.

It won’t fix anything, but we all blamed her for getting us kicked out of the pack that we were born in. It was OUR pack, not hers. Yes we played a part in causing her problems, but he had already demoted us. The whole pack knew what had happened, and we had been punished. Jake didn’t have to banish us like we were unimportant. I swear that I will pay him back for the humiliation. Loosing his precious mate should do the trick. If I can’t be happy, than by the Goddess I cannot allow him to be happy either.

I was sitting at the hotel bar with Aria when Ashley walked up to us with a handsome guy. He had dark blonde hair with highlights, and hazel eyes. He was in great shape, and clearly a werewolf too. He was attractive, and any one of us would have tried to pick him up if we saw him first. He had some power radiating off of him, and he was clearly a ranked wolf. Ashley grinned at us and said, “I would like to introduce you to Lyell Benton, he was the Alpha at Moss Point.”

I almost fell off my seat in surprise. He was still young, there was no reason for him to have stepped down, so something was going on there. We all knew that Evie was going there, and I needed to test the waters. If we could get him in our corner, we would be able to get to Evie at either Dark Marsh, or Moss Point. This would increase our chances of getting our goal accomplished. We just needed to know if he was with us, or against us, with his opinion of Evie. We introduced ourselves, and we all felt his eyes slide over us both as we got down from our stools to greet him. He didn’t try to hide the fact, and I knew at that moment that we had him.

He was clearly used to getting the women that he wanted, and to achieve our goals, we were willing to play along. He was pretty handsome, and I wouldn’t mind sleeping with him at least once. We will see about a second round after he proves himself. We had a few more drinks before they went to go back to Ashley’s room. I had already texted her to see about where he stood on Evie when they were done. We needed to know as soon as possibly for us to be able to start making plans. I saw Steven heading our way, and I knew that he would be in with us on this. He was furious at being stripped of the rank that he worked so hard to get.

All of our parents had told us to leave it alone. They told us that Jake was being kind to just banish us, instead of killing the four of us. I didn’t think that Jake would have the balls to kill us. Especially after we take his mate from him. He will be weak, and unfocused, we could take him out at that time. I hated him from the very bottom of my heart now, and I wanted him to be punished. We will make sure that she dies first, so he can feel their bond be severed. Only after that, will I end him. He needs to feel as much pain as we can give him.

I was right, Steven said if we got this Lyell person on our side, it will be easy to get into the pack. We were not going in there to take over. We were just going to go there to end two people. As long as no one tried to stop us, no one else had to die. I know that Beau will be with them, and he was going to try to stop us. I will have to get Steven to deal with him. Their fighting style is very similar, as they have trained together for years. I have never seen Lyell train, so I don’t know how strong of a fighter he is.

About an hour later Ashley texted me that Lyell hated Evie, as well as her parents, and her mate. He was willing to help get us into Moss Point, but he had one request. He wanted to get his vehicle back, and that we needed to move on this in the next week and a half. I didn’t care what his requirements were, I was glad for the way into the pack. He could deal with his car issue after he got us into the pack. We just needed to drum up a few more to help us get this done. I knew we needed to start hitting the clubs up so we could see about finding some more rogues to help cause a distraction. We can start at the club that Ashley found Lyell in, that was probably the best place for us to start.

There was no way that just the five of us could get this done. I am going to get a plan laid out, and we are going to make sure that we get in there, and take them out as soon as we can. Evie is having a sweet family reunion right now. She will never suspect that we will be coming at all. We needed to get up a group of men, and we need to make sure this gets done as soon as possible. I cannot stop the smile on my face. Something is finally going my way. I will also see if Aria and Ashley can see if their brothers wanted to help us. Everyone was pissed about being booted out of Dark Marsh.

The least we can do is see if they wanted to help us get some payback for the banishment too. At least I knew that we could trust them not to ditch us at the first sign of trouble. Some of us might be killed in this attempt, and I preferred it to be the rogues, and not any of us. Aria and I headed to the club that Ashley named. We need to get this plan in motion quick. They left the same day we did, and I didn’t know how long the pack could go without Jake and Beau there.

Sawyer and Greyson were both very effective as the Gamma, and Delta, of Dark Marsh. But they were not going to be able to keep the pack going for more than two weeks. Jake was going to be needed back by that time, and we need to make sure that we attack before then. We need to be able to move on this in five days. I know it isn’t much time, but we need to do this before they even suspect we are there. This can’t wait, it will be so much harder to try to get them at Dark Marsh. I will make sure that whatever we need to do, it gets done. I won’t miss the opportunity to kill the girl who ruined my life.
