Chapter 9: Clumsy.
"To bathe you," he replied and "no!" she screamed, almost jumping off his arms.
"No, it's not right. You have no right and access to my body," she declared.
"Listen here, young woman, I have every right and access to your body after all you're my wife," he smirked, his face showing a hint of amusement. He was currently enjoying the look on her face.
"And do I? Do I also have right and access to your body?" She asked.
"No," he gave a firm answer and she laughed.
"Listen here young man, as much as I still think I'm dreaming, you're my husband, so I have every right and access to your body," she said.
"Fine, then I can undress you right now," he smirked.
"No!" She held her nightwear tightly to prevent him from taking off her clothes. "Just take me to my wardrobe."
Steven carried Dua to her wardrobe, where she carefully selected her dress for the day. Next, he carried her into the bathroom, his arms cradling her gently. "Stop," she said and he stopped.
"Put me down," she said and he did she said.
"Turn around," she said.
"Then how am I supposed to bathe you?" He asked, earning a frustrated look from Dua.
"I'll bathe myself. I just need you to hold my hand so I don't fall," she replied and he turned around.
"Even turning around, I can still see you clearly. The walls are reflective," he smirked.
Dua looked at the walls and it was true, she could see their reflections on the walls. They were like mirrors although they weren't glass. "How come I've never noticed this after bathing here two days?" She thought.
"That's why you'll close your eyes," she replied to Steven.
"And what makes you think I'll obediently close my eyes and not peek at you?" He smirked and she sighed. He's right though.
"Listen, I know we're a married couple, but I'm not ready to do the married couple thingy yet so please..." she pleaded with him.
Steven hearing the plea in her voice decided to be good and close his eyes.
Although Dua saw him close his eyes, she still felt unsecure to take her bath with him there. One thought in her mind, "what if he suddenly opens his eyes when I'm in the middle of bathing?" She didn't trust him completely.
"What are you waiting for?" Steven broke her out of her thoughts.
"Promise me you won't peek at me," she voiced out her fear.
He opened his eyes and looked at her, shaking his head. He turned and closed his eyes again, "be quick while I'm still being nice."
Dua seeing him close his eyes from his reflection on the wall, smiled and began to take her bath while holding onto his hand. Although his statement wasn't very nice, it gave her a little assurance.
As Dua stood under the shower, the warm water pouring on her, the scent of lavender and chamomile enveloped her, calming her senses. She held onto Steven's hand, feeling the gentle pressure of his fingers wrapped around hers. Some minutes later, she was done bathing and dressed up. As she stepped out of the bathing area, she slipped, pulling Steven too. But he was quick to gain balance and caught her too before she got to the floor. "You're not only feisty and crazy, you're clumsy too," he said. But she wasn't really paying attention to what he was saying as she was lost in his beauty.
"Oh, my God, what are you doing, Dua?" She thought, finally recollecting herself.
As he straightened her up, he noticed something like a scratch very close to her collarbone. But to be exact he moved away the portion of hair that covered the site, and there it was, a scratch.
"What are you doing?" Dua covered her collarbone well with her hair but he kept her quiet and carried her to the bedroom and made her sit on the bed. Then got a first aid box and came back to her. He opened the box, brought out a few things and uncovered the site of the scratch and began to clean it.
As a result of the pain Dua felt, she moved away slightly.
"Stay still," he said.
"It's stinging me," she replied, moving closer to him again.
"Stop the drama, it's not a fresh wound," he said heartlessly to her.
"But it hurts," she looked at him. Her eyes trying to conceal the pain she was feeling, but he saw through it and his face softened a bit before returning to its usual coldness.
"Blow on it," she said and he raised a brow at her.
"Please, it's hurting a lot," she added. Thinking he was gonna do just that, he stood up and walked away, returning with a hair dryer. He turned it on and placed it near where it hurt her, cooling down the pain and she scoffed.
"Don't they say thank you in where you're from?" He said as he continued dressing her injury.
"What should I thank you for, the fact that you're making jest of me or the fact that you're trying to get me angry?" She glared at him.
"I'm caring for you, and you're busy saying thrash," he said.
"yeah, yeah, I feel your sincere care," she gave a sarcastic smile.
As he finished his work on her, he looked at her collarbone and slowly up her creamy looking neck to her face and he got smitten by her. She still wore her sarcastic smile on her face that almost made him chuckle, then he recollected himself. "What's wrong with me? It's been so long since a woman attracted me," he thought to himself.
"It's all done," he said to her and she moved away from him, covering up her collarbone.
"Next item on the list is getting me breakfast, I'm so hungry," she told him and he quietly went out of the room and came back with her breakfast, setting it in front of her on the bed.
"Call me when you need anything, I've got work to do," he gave her phone to her and left.
After he left, Dua immediately dug into the meal. "Oh, so delicious," she exclaimed. "Whoever you are, Diane, you are one lucky woman. You not only have a beauty god as your husband, he's also a master chef."
"Having a perfect life, where did you disappear to, Diane?" She thought.
