Chapter 44 Leave everything to me!
Over the next two days, Lambert truly didn’t contact Lydia again, and Lydia focused all her energy on
work.
However, when she returned home, she would hear Wythe mentioning a few words about his dad calling
again.
After carefully collecting her thoughts, Lydia finally started to make sense of things a bit.
Regardless of whether Lambert was Wythe’s biological father or not, she had developed feelings for this man. Or perhaps it should be said that, upon knowing he was Wythe’s father, she felt joy and gratitude in
her heart. After all, he was such an outstanding man.
But at that time, the fear of losing Wythe suppressed the few feelings of joy in her heart, leaving her in extreme confusion. Moreover, Lydia felt that the events of six years ago were ambiguous in terms of who was right and who was wrong.
Even if Lambert had stayed that day, perhaps she wouldn’t necessarily have ended up with him, and
those past hurts would still have occurred. If that’s the case, why couldn’t she leave behind those past
events and only look forward to the future?
With this thought, Lydia suddenly felt enlightened, and even a smile appeared on her face. That night,
Wythe secretly video called Lambert from his room.
“Dad, Mom seems to have calmed down!”
These past few days, although Lambert hadn’t directly contacted Lydia, he had learned a lot about Lydia
through Wythe. So, upon hearing that Lydia seemed to have truly calmed down, the tension that he had
been carrying finally dissipated.
“Yeah, thanks, Wythe, it’s all thanks to you!”
Lambert’s tone was indulgent, and even his icy demeanor melted like snow in winter, a sight that would
surely shock his subordinates if they saw it!
Receiving praise from his dad, Wythe’s face turned slightly red, and he shyly said, “Will Dad reward me?”
“Of course! Tell me, what do you want as a reward?”
Wythe tilted his little head in thought, “I haven’t decided yet. I’ll keep it in mind, and when I figure it out,
I’ll ask Dad for it!”
Lambert’s gaze softened even more. “Alright, it’s up to you!”
The father and son continued to chat affectionately for a while longer before Wythe reluctantly ended the video call and left the room, only to see Lydia staring at the TV with a grim expression.

Following her gaze curiously, Wythe saw a somewhat unfamiliar face.
It was prime time, and the TV was airing an emotional program, but the person on the show made Lydia
wish she could turn him to dust.
Yes, the person who voluntarily appeared on the TV show was none other than the scoundrel, Ron!

The spacious studio was packed with people, and Ron, dressed in a white suit, looked desolate and lost beneath his gold–rimmed glasses.
Despite not being particularly handsome, his appearance exuded sincerity and honesty, even when lying,
he maintained a sincere demeanor.
The host sat opposite Ron, beginning this episode of emotional interviews. This program focused on marriage and emotional issues, often featuring guests from high society, making it quite popular.
Ron recognized this and had a good relationship with the show’s director, which got him a spot on the
program.
“Mr. Ron, hello! First of all, welcome to our emotional interview. Thank you for sharing your emotions and
marital life with us today,” the host greeted.
“Hello! Hello, everyone. I’m glad to be here,” Ron replied, wearing an expression of sorrowful affection as
he looked towards the camera.
“May I ask what your purpose is for being on the show today?” the host inquired.
Ron feigned sadness, lowering his eyes before looking deeply into the camera, “I’m here to win back my ex–wife! Six years ago, due to misunderstandings, she left me. But I’ve never forgotten her. Over these years, I’ve been waiting for her. Now that she’s achieved success, perhaps in her eyes, I’m no longer the
first love she cherished.”
“So, Miss Gilford left you because of her career?” the host asked.
Ron’s eyes flickered for a moment before he put on a deeply affectionate look, “I’d rather not dwell on that. I can only say, Lydia is a simple person, easily deceived. But I don’t mind. After six years, seeing her return is already satisfying. As for the rest, I don’t care!”
The audience began to hold up signs, “Support Mr. Ron!”
“Unexpectedly, Mr. Ron is still deeply in love. What’s even more surprising is that Miss Gilford’s disappearance for several years turned out to be due to elopement! Even so, Mr. Ron, do you still intend to remarry Miss Gilford?” the host continued.
“Yes! In fact, I’ve already applied to the court to remarry Lydia. I believe there will be news soon,” Ron

affirmed.
“Personally, I have a small question. I heard that Mr. Ron is currently married, and your wife is Miss Gilford’s sister. How does she feel about your application to remarry your ex–wife?” the host asked.
Ron’s face changed momentarily, obviously not expecting this question. He had already briefed the director not to mention
Maggie before the show. It seemed the host had his own ideas. But because this was a live broadcast, Ron
had to answer.
After a moment’s thought, he replied, “My current wife, Maggie, knows about this. In fact, when she was with me, we discussed this issue. She knew that Lydia was the one I always loved. But she said she didn’t mind. Now that Lydia is back, I believe she will voluntarily exit our marriage. Over the years, I’m grateful for Maggie’s companionship, and I hope she finds her true happiness in the future.”
Ron evaded the question, playing out the role of a devoted lover.
As the program aired, almost all viewers praised Ron, despite his marriage to Maggie seeming like an
emotional flaw.
After all, it was Lydia who had eloped with someone else!
Watching Lydia’s infuriated and distressed expression in front of the TV, Wythe sneaked back into his room, dialed a number, “Dad, there’s something I need to tell you…”
Lambert, on the other end of the call, immediately turned on the TV.
Seeing the man on screen uttering one ambiguous statement after another, pushing Lydia to the brink of moral condemnation, anger flashed in his deep eyes, a storm brewing!
The phone call still connected, Wythe awaited the desired response. After a moment’s silence, he heard
Lambert’s low voice from the other end.
“Don’t worry! Leave everything to me!”
“Okay!”
Wythe’s eyes curved slightly, a smirk playing on his lips. You want to mess with my mom, huh? Let’s see if my dad agrees!
Ending the call, Lambert pondered for a moment before dialing another number, “Lennon, it’s me! I need your help with something…”
Two minutes later, Lambert dialed another number, “It’s me! There’s something you need to do tomorrow! Make sure it’s done neatly!”
