Chapter 28 DNA
In the director’s office of a hospital, a man in a white coat lounged with his legs crossed. He didn’t look
like a doctor; rather, he seemed more like a rogue.
His name was Horace, Lambert’s family doctor and childhood friend.
Suddenly, Horace’s phone buzzed twice. He picked it up and slid the screen open, revealing a message
from someone named Lambert:
“Urgent, come quickly!” Below was an address.
“Huh? Why would he suddenly text me? I just did his check–up the day before yesterday, everything
seemed normal. Could something unexpected have happened?” With this thought, Horace’s face quickly
became serious. H
e knew it was quite normal for Lambert, with his status, to encounter unexpected events. He just
wondered who had dared to confront him this time.
With that in mind, Horace quickly got up, not even bothering to change clothes, grabbed his medical kit,
and went out for a house call. Ten minutes later, Horace appeared before Lambert.
Pushing open the boss’s office door, Horace immediately spotted Wythe sitting on the sofa obediently eating snacks, his face exactly like Lambert’s, making it impossible for Horace not to recognize the boy’s identity even if he tried!
“Wow! Lambert, you never cease to amaze me. How can you just spring a big son out of nowhere in just
two days?”
“Horace!” Lambert’s voice remained calm but with a clear warning in his eyes.
“Alright, alright, can’t even crack a joke, Lambert, you’re something.” Seeing that Lambert didn’t seem injured, Horace relaxed a bit.
He walked over and sat down beside Wythe, even couldn’t resist pinching the boy’s cheek. “This kid is really cute! Looks just like you when you were a kid!”
Wythe pouted and moved away slightly, feeling annoyed. If he wasn’t eating, he wouldn’t have let this strange uncle pinch his cheek!
Lambert frowned. “Stop fooling around. I called you here for something.”
“Alright, what’s the matter?” Horace, full of roguishness, propped his feet up on the coffee table nearby, his peach blossom eyes full of gossip.
“A DNA test.”
“For whom?” Horace asked, then his gaze fell on Wythe, who had been completely ignored the whole

time. “With such a striking resemblance, is there even a need for a test? He’s definitely your son! But what’s the situation now? Where’s his mother?”
“You’re asking me? Stop babbling! Can you do it or not?”
“Of course, of course! But do your parents know about this? Weren’t they constantly urging you to get married? If they find out you already have a child, maybe they won’t pressure you into marriage
anymore?”
Lambert’s expression turned mysterious. “Don’t jump to conclusions so early! Keep this matter
confidential for now.”
After some consideration, Horace nodded solemnly.
He understood his childhood friend’s temperament. If Lambert wanted it kept quiet, he must have his
reasons.
Well, knowing such juicy gossip was already good enough; as for how Lambert would handle it specifically, that wasn’t something an outsider like him should worry about.

Three hours later, at the same place, with the same people, the atmosphere in the boss’s office was much
more serious than before.
Horace held a paternity test report in his hand and handed it to Lambert. “Take a look. The genetic similarity between the two is already 99.8%.
It confirms their father–son relationship without a doubt!”
A complex expression flickered in Lambert’s eyes as he glanced at the report, his gaze deepening.
Although it was somewhat inexplicable, one thing was certain: the child was indeed his!
Upon receiving the affirmative answer, Wythe had a feeling of “I knew it.” This meant that his mom and dad still had some connection, but why hadn’t his dad come to see them all these years?
Thinking about his and his mother’s life over the years, Wythe’s eyes dimmed slightly.
Moreover, from his interactions with Lambert, it seemed that the man didn’t even know about his existence, which hurt Wythe’s pride a little.
Although the man in front of him perfectly matched his criteria for choosing a dad, this time, Wythe inexplicably didn’t want to acknowledge him so quickly.
After all, why hadn’t he come to find them all these years? Hmph!
“Lambert, I think you shouldn’t keep this matter hidden. Your parents have been eagerly anticipating a

grandchild for so many years. If they find out about this child, and you keep it from them, who knows…”
“I know what I’m doing. If there’s nothing else, you may leave.” Lambert’s mind was in turmoil, unable to describe the feeling. He just dismissed Horace directly.
Horace exaggeratedly lamented, “Seriously, Lambert, do you have any humanity? It’s almost noon, at least let me have lunch before I go!”
Lambert gave him a cold glance, and Horace quickly withdrew his rogue face, raising his hands in surrender. “I surrender, you’re the boss, you win! I’ll leave now. Let’s have dinner together another day with your son, okay?”
Horace quickly left the boss’s office, leaving only Lambert and Wythe in the room.
Lambert’s gaze remained on Wythe, his mind filled with mixed feelings. Just as he realized his feelings for Lydia, suddenly, a son emerged. He wondered if Lydia would mind this.
More importantly, now that he had confirmed that the boy named Jamie was his son, he couldn’t just leave him outside. He had to take him back to his family!
As for his mother, the woman he hadn’t seen or heard from until now, he wouldn’t accept her!
