Chapter273
Maxwell’s eyes were red, and he quickly flipped through those two betting agreements.
Just then, the office door was knocked on.
Edgar walked over.
“Sir Humphrey, Mrs. …Ms. Shelton and Roxanne were all here.”
Leonard saw that Maxwell didn’t refuse anymore, so he nodded, “Let
them in.”
So, Stephanie and Roxanne walked in together.
Stephanie nodded and said hi, while Roxanne was more enthusiastic..
“Sir Humphrey, Grandma, good afternoon.” Roxanne felt a surge of joy. The old couple finally agreed to see her. Did that mean they were going to accept her?
But earlier, Maxwell had just told her. The old couple just wouldn’t agree no matter what.
“Take a look.” Leonard handed the file to Edgar, and Edgar gave the file to Stephanie and Roxanne.
Stephanie looked at the file in her hand, her eyes narrowing.
“This was a betting agreement,” Leonard said.
phanie, if you won,
then in three months, what you wanted would go straight to your name.”
Stephanie looked up and saw Leonard’s smiling face.

“If you lost, whatever the amount was in the lawsuit, you had to pay three times that price to buy them back.”
Stephanie’s eyes felt a little warm.
If we really went with Maxwell’s suggestion and filed a lawsuit, the first trial might have taken six months, and then we’d still need a second trial.
Then it was about carrying things out, handing over, and some people dragged things out. If they really dragged it, it could have dragged on for a year or two.
Now, it was like Leonard gave her a chance to quickly get back the Shelton family’s stuff.
Stephanie looked over at Maxwell, who was looking down at some papers with an unreadable expression.
Leonard understood what Stephanie meant. He smiled and said, “Don’t worry, I can make this decision.”
Then, he turned to Roxanne on the side again.
“You wanted to join our Humphrey family, right? I gave you a chance,” Leonard said. “You saw this agreement too. If you won, then our Humphrey family would accept you. If you lost, you had to apologize to Stephanie online and get out of Haraville.”
“In order to consider your illness, the two of us specially set three months, so you could stay for two months to hold the wedding.”
Roxanne was full of excitement.
She had already pushed Maxwell many times, but Maxwell always hesitated, and after the news recently broke that Serena was Mrs. Humphrey, he got even more hesitant.

And Leonard and Jennifer didn’t like her before, either. This time the finally got an official chance, as long as she won
They were all looking through the agreement.
Stephanie could see clearly.
In three months, everyone went to do their own projects.
Then three months later, under Leonard’s supervision, professionals would be sent to review and score each project. Whoever got the higher score would win.
This scoring mainly looked at how much money was made. the costs. how hard the project was, and so on. It was calculated based on a certain ratio, and the most important part was the return rate!
And you couldn’t cheat.
For example, Maxwell and his friend just went to buy flowers from Everbloom Floral Studio, that was cheating.
But if it was a normal flower sale from Everbloom Floral Studio, that didn’t count as cheating.
Same for Stephanie.
But Stephanie didn’t have anything she could cheat with, either
“I did the math, you each had your own strengths,” Leonard said.
He glanced at Maxwell and snorted.
He knew Maxwell would definitely help Roxa
and give her lots of
flower supply contracts, so actually it was Stephanie who lost out.
