Chapter120
Did they have anything left to talk about?
“At least, about the kid, I think you need to explain it to me clearly.” Maxwell’s cold, hard voice came again, “So I can give Grandpa and Grandma an explanation too.”
Stephanie looked away.
That kid…
After she left Jacquelyn, she felt lost for a while.
Later, Jeremiah said, the money from that charity auction dinner she went to was already being used, and asked her if she wanted to go take a look.
Stephanie also wanted to see where the money for that Tanzanite went, so she agreed.
Because she had bought Belinda’s painting before, Stephanie went to Haraville Orphanage.
Maybe it was fate.
Maybe it was the kid who had already left who wanted someone else, or wanted to stay with her in a different way.
Tanzanite, charity money, a painting I happened to take a picture of
All this made Stephanie and Belinda meet.
Belinda was dropped off at the door of Haraville Orphanage a few years ago. Her real parents abandoned her because of the illness she

had.
And for various reasons, Belinda’s illness hadn’t been treated well, and… this charity fundraiser just happened by chance.
After just meeting a few times, Stephanie had this feeling it was meant to be
So. Stephanie decided to adopt Belinda, get her treated, send her to school, and be there for her as she grew up.
It’s just that Stephanie wasn’t 30 yet, not old enough to adopt, so she went to her mom.
That day, Stephanie stood outside the shop her mom had run, looking at her from a distance, and for the first time in all those years, she called out. “Mom.”
The later procedures were all done by my mom. Even though it took some time to finish them, they were already in progress.
In the legal sense, from now on Belinda was going to be her sister.
But whether it was her, her mother, or Belinda, they all knew the details.
Belinda wanted to go to school, and Stephanie found her a private kindergarten in Haraville with good privacy.
Maybe because she was abandoned when she was little, and then lived in Haraville Orphanage for all these years, plus she was still young, Belinda didn’t know what to do.
So that day, at the kindergarten gate, Belinda hesitated.
“What’s wrong?” Stephanie crouched down, took off the mask she used to hide, and looked at Belinda seriously and gently. “Are you scared?”

Belinda nodded, then shook her head.
Stephanie didn’t rush Belinda to talk, just waited patiently.
Belinda hesitated for a while, then looked at Stephanie and said, “Mom.”
She finished talking, then immediately looked down and didn’t dare look at Stephanie.
“Should I call you that?” Belinda’s voice was very quiet.
Stephanie smiled and reached out to gently pat Belinda’s head.
“Up to you,” she said. “If you’re not used to it, you can call me auntie first.”
Belinda let out a sigh of relief and nodded hard..
“Auntie Stephanie,” Belinda said softly, gave Stephanie another hug. and then ran into the kindergarten.
Stephanie just stood here and watched Belinda run to the classroom door, wave at her, and then go in.
What the paparazzi caught was the moment when Stephanie took off her mask.
I was already really careful, but I still got caught on camera.
Because the adoption process wasn’t finished yet, Stephanie could take her to kindergarten, but she couldn’t bring Belinda home fo
night.
But it didn’t take long, usually it could be done within 30 working days.
Thinking of this, Stephanie said:

“That kid had nothing to do with the Humphrey family.”
She said, “She wouldn’t put both of us on the household registration, so it’s not related to the Humphrey family’s property.”
Stephanie pulled her hand away from Maxwell, a gust of wind blew by, and the alcohol hit her again.
Stephanie took off her high heels and stood on the floor, with her back to Maxwell. She said. “That’s about it. I think you know enough. I’ll tell Grandpa and Grandma the same thing tomorrow.”
“If you didn’t believe it, you could go check.”
“I didn’t need to lie about this yet.”
After she finished talking, Stephanie pulled herself together and walked off.
“Stephanie!”
His voice came from behind: “Do we really have to do this?”
Stephanie didn’t pause.
She had already made up her mind.
“We also had kids.”
“You let her call you mom, what about me?”
Maxwell’s voice came from far away, maybe by the woods, with a bit of a deep, mysterious feel.
“Or are you…” In this deep darkness, suspicion crept in again. His voice was cold. “You did it on purpose.”
Deliberately brought a kid.

She deliberately let the paparazzi catch that kid calling her mom.
