“Yeah, back then she just kept following you around, maybe made a bit of a fuss, but after all these years, there’s no way she’d leave.” Wesley’s voice came through.
Maxwell closed his eyes.
Yeah, it had been seven years, she just couldn’t leave him.
Recently, I already learned to be sensible and not make a fuss.
Thinking of this, Maxwell finished his drink in one go.
That night they drank a lot of alcohol.
But he didn’t know why, he just felt kind of scared.
But the next day he just put it out of his mind and went on with his life like usual.
A few days went by peacefully
Until that day, it suddenly reached the top of the trending topic list.
“Stephanie drove the kid to school, and the kid called her mom.
This trending topic just blew up.
This time the media actually knew to protect minors, so all the photos and locations involving kids were blurred. There was only one picture taken from far away showing Stephanie and a kid with a backpack holding hands and walking together from behind.
Maybe part of it was also because I was afraid of Maxwell.

But netizens all freaked out-
“When did Stephanie have a kid?”
“Yeah, didn’t Stephanie and Maxwell just get married a year ago? Where did the kid come from? I never heard anything about her having a baby before.”
“The reporter said the kid could already go to school, so the kid was pretty big, but wasn’t Stephanie only 25?”
“Was this Stephanie’s doing? She saw Maxwell and Roxanne getting closer, so she did this on purpose!”
“I thought so, maybe she even bought this trending topic herself!”
“That’s so awful, you couldn’t even wait half a year? Roxanne only had half a year left!”
Just as everyone was having a heated discussion, at Everbloom Floral Studio, Roxanne got so mad that she smashed the cup in her hand.
The cleaner quietly picked up the broken glass on the floor and then left.
She took out her phone and made a call to someone, but I didn’t know who.
“What happened? How did she suddenly have a kid!”
The other person’s voice came through the phone: “Still don’t know, need to check, feels weird, if she really had a kid a few years ago, then Maxwell should know, do you want to test it out?”
“You mean?” Roxanne’s eyes narrowed dangerously, “This was fake?”
“It’s possible,” the other person said. “Anyway, you could ask Maxwell first. No matter if it’s true or not, there would always be ways to deal with it later.”
The other person paused for a moment and then said, “Roxanne, I’ve got this.”
Roxanne finally felt a bit relieved and hung up the phone.
She walked around the room, she had thought about a lot of possibilities.
So why did Stephanie do that?
A lightbulb went off, and then Roxanne suddenly laughed.
Why did Stephanie have a kid at this point? Just think about what happened recently and you’ll get it.
So basically, it was because Stephanie felt she couldn’t outdo her anymore, that’s why she did it.
At this thought, Roxanne’s eyes were full of sarcasm.
“Stephanie, I didn’t expect you to be this dumb!” Roxanne said, then found Maxwell’s number and called him.
At the Humphrey Building.
CEO’s Office.

Edgar was standing in front of Maxwell’s desk, handing the tablet to Maxwell.
“Mr. Humphrey, this was the latest news. I already did what you said. and went to ask the reporter about the details.”
Maxwell flipped through the stuff on the tablet. Besides the gossip from the internet, there was also the info Edgar asked the reporter for.
“Some info about the kid we knew so far, Mr. Humphrey, you could see she was a girl, looked like she wasn’t even 5 years old yet, they took the picture at the kindergarten gate, Mrs. Humphrey.”
Edgar went on. “The info was already bought out across the whole internet just like you said, Mr. Humphrey. Nothing more detailed than this will show up online.”
In that era, there were paparazzi everywhere, and they would sell some information.
This time it was obviously like this.
On the tablet, there was a scene of Stephanie in a coat, squatting down to fix a little girl’s clothes. The little girl softly called. “Mom.”
This was the information source, so there was no cover.
Maxwell frowned a little, what was she trying to do?
Where did she get a kid?
