Chapter 38

**Hunter's POV**

"They've g-g-got Dai....sy"

The words Lily just said hangs in the air and it takes a while for my brain to process the information. When the implication of the words finally sink in, I slump down on the bed and cover my face with both my hands.

"Who's got Daisy?" Daisy's father asks in a panicked voice.

"A tall huge scary man with one eye and the nice lady who served us our meal when we came over for dinner in your house" Lily rushes out.

"Daisy helped me escape but they caught her before she could join me" Lily says starting to cry and my mother pulls her into a hug.

Daisy's father slumps down in sadness too and my father pats him on the shoulder before they both hurry out of the room making urgent calls.

Different emotions run through my whole body drowning out the sounds of my mother comforting my sister and telling her that Daisy will be found.

I should have waited for her.

I shouldn't have left her alone.

I failed her.

I couldn't protect her.

Impulsively, I storm to my father's office. I kick the door open with all the force that I can muster and they both look up startled.

"Why the hell are you both sitting there not doing anything? Only God knows what that bastard is doing to her right now!" I yell and my father frowns at me.

"Hunter Desmond Stone, behave yourself. We are doing everything we can to get her back. We've taken come precautions in case something like this happened. There's a tracker on her phone and the best team in the country is on this" my father replies.

I nod miserably.

"So have you heard anything about her location?" I ask and my father shake his head to say no.

Why did I leave her there?

"I can't lose her. I just can't" I mutter slumping down on the chair all my strength suddenly leaving me.

"Me too son" a wistful voice replies and I look up to see that it's her dad.

For the first time, I notice how tired he looks and I feel bad for yelling at him. She's his daughter and I can't even begin to imagine what he's going through.

The door opens and my mother walks in. She immediately comes to my side and hugs me.

"Lily has fallen asleep. Any new information about where she is?" She asks and Dad tells her exactly what he told me.

"It's going to be okay baby. Your friends are waiting for you outside. And yes, they already know what's going on since Blake's brother runs the security company in charge of protecting Daisy. I think he told him about it and he told the others" She says to me and I nod absentmindedly.

What is Levi doing to Daisy now?

I pray that bastard doesn't touch her or......

I shut my eyes to control the extremely evil and murderous thoughts running in my head. I stand up and move out of the office to go meet my friends.

I walk to the sitting room and meet them all sitting silently. When they see me enter, they all stand up and give me worried looks.

"She's going to be fine. My brother is giving this all he's got" Blake tries to comfort me and I nod. Something I've been doing very often in the past hour.

"They couldn't possibly have gone f....." Tyler's words get cut off as the girls enter. Bloom eyes were blurred with tears while Chloe's eyes were swollen red indicating that she has also been crying.

I see red when I see the person that enters after them.

Fucking Kyle!

Without thinking, I charge forward and swing a punch at him. He dodges it and I swing again this time hitting him square in the jaw. I don't wait for him to recover before I proceed to rain blows on him. He falls to the ground and I go after him to continue my assault.

This time, he fights back and I get a couple of good punches to my face and I a little more to his face before my friends finally pull us apart.

"You have some fucking nerve showing your face here after what your family has done to her!" I yell trying to break free from the grip of the people holding me back.

I really need to punch something right now.

"For fuck sake, what are you talking about? I heard Daisy was missing and I came here only to get pounded to pulp. What the fuck is wrong with you man?" He asks incredulously.

"Your uncle Levi fucking did this! Don't act like you are innocent. Why the hell aren't you behind bars right now?" I ask struggling harder to get to him.

"Who the hell is Levi?" He asks looking genuinely confused.

"Don't pretend like you don't know Eve's father. Eve is your cousin right?" I answer still yelling.

"Eve's father? From what I know, Eve's father is dead and she lives with her uncle. I didn't even know her until a few years ago!" He replies rubbing his jaw and wincing in pain.

Everyone looks shocked that he doesn't know who Levi is but I'm not going to believe whatever it is he's saying. I need someone to blame too badly.

"Yeah because that seems so believable" I spit out.

"I'm telling the truth, I don't know who...." He starts to say but everyone goes silent when my father and Daisy's father walks into the room.

"They've found something. We just received a call saying they've found the location of her phone and they're on their way to recover her back. We're heading to the security company right now" My father says and I immediately reply.

"I'm coming with you" my reply is  followed by an echo of "me too".

My father nods and he walks out of the house with Daisy's dad. We all follow and I grit my teeth when I notice Kyle was also coming with us. I don't say anything though because I'm too worried about getting to Daisy.

Why is nobody doing anything about this guy? He could be spying for Levi for fuck's sake.

We all enter different cars and Dean drives my car because he thinks I'm in no good state of mind to make any decision.

When we get to the security company, we all wait anxiously in Blake's Brother's office for the squad to come back. After about half an hour, they finally arrive and we all tense up in anticipation.

The door swings open and I expect to see Daisy walk in with Shane, Blake's brother but only Shane walks in.

His sad eyes tells us all we need to know even before he says it.

"I'm really sorry but we were too late. I think she might be dead."
