Chapter 158: Teach You a Lesson Until You Are Satisfied

Chapter 158: Teach You a Lesson Until You Are Satisfied

"Love." Joshua said with absolute certainty, "I love you, very much."

Tears kept sliding down Ava's cheeks, but a smile broke through despite herself.

"I love you too."

...

Joshua was discharged from the hospital that same day. Finn sent Ava the surveillance footage. In the car, Joshua held Ava's hand tightly, the smile on his face showing how incredibly happy he was at that moment.

Even Samuel, driving in front, could feel waves of spring-like warmth filling the car.

The air was sweet with their happiness.

"What are you looking at?" Joshua noticed Ava's attention was completely on her phone, so focused she might forget he was there. He felt a bit jealous.

"Do you think Mia did all this by herself?" Ava's eyes were still fixed on the screen.

"No." Joshua answered.

"Right, someone's helping her." Ava handed her phone to Joshua.

The drug was slipped in by a man dressed as a waiter when he brought over drinks. Twenty minutes later, Mia knew exactly which private room Joshua was in.

Ava rubbed her temples.

Whoever was helping Mia behind the scenes had real power. But who?

Joshua's eyes grew darker as he gripped the phone. "I'll handle this."

"Don't worry about it. You've got company business. I'll handle it."

Ava narrowed her eyes. She already suspected someone.

Mia had claimed to be Will's wife before, and that day Will had acted strange - she'd felt strong hostility from him toward both her and Joshua.

If someone was helping Mia behind the scenes, he was the most likely suspect.

"You go back to the company and take care of your business." Ava looked up at him.

Joshua smiled. She wanted to handle things for him. How could his woman be so amazing?

"Okay, call me if anything comes up."

Ava nodded. "I know."

"Samuel, let me out here." Ava said to Samuel.

Samuel pulled the car smoothly to the side of the road. Ava grabbed her purse. "I'm going. You focus on work, leave everything else to me."

"Okay." Joshua pulled Ava close and kissed her forehead.

After Ava got out, Joshua finally looked away. His handsome face immediately returned to its usual cold expression.

Samuel felt the temperature in the car drop sharply again.

"Have someone follow her. Help her if necessary." Joshua said coldly.

"Yes."

Ava went to the Wilson Villa. After the Wilson Villa burned down and the Wilson family suffered major losses, they'd only been able to buy back a small villa - nothing like their former glory.

Ava had Finn track down the Wilson family's new address. She walked right in.

The Wilson family's servant saw Ava and rushed inside like she'd seen a ghost to report.

"Ms. Wilson, Ava is here!"

Mia knew Joshua wouldn't let her off this time. She'd been hiding at home, not daring to go out. Now that Ava was here, Mia trembled all over. "I won't see her, I won't! Throw her out..."

"But..."

The door was kicked open.

Ava stood in the doorway, radiating coldness.

Mia looked at her like she was seeing the plague itself and kept backing away. "What are you doing here? This is my house, get out!"

Ava calmly sat down on the sofa, her cold eyes fixed on Mia.

"Did you hear me? Get out!"

"Mia, who's helping you?" Ava asked coldly.

"Someone helping me? What are you talking about? I don't know."

Mia denied everything, but Ava, as if she'd expected this, said slowly, "The room number, the drug - these aren't things you could get on your own. Someone planned everything for you. You were just the one carrying it out. Am I right?"

"You..." Under Ava's gaze, Mia's eyes darted around.

Ava had guessed right.

"The person helping you is Will!"

Mia's head snapped up to look at Ava!

Mia couldn't hide her reaction fast enough - Ava caught that flash of panic.

That devil. Just thinking about that devil made Mia's whole body shake uncontrollably.

"Go find him then. He's the one who told me to do it."

Go to Will? If she made Will angry, what good would come of it? Mia let out a twisted laugh.

"Aren't you his wife?"

"Wife?" Mia acted like she'd heard the funniest joke ever. Wife? That devil who sent her to his bodyguards to play with, who treated her like a dog?

Hahahaha, how ridiculous.

"Ava, you're so smart, you figure it out yourself!" Mia laughed with a twisted expression.

Ava's lips curved coldly. "He's using you to achieve his own goals!"

The twisted smile froze on Mia's face.

Ava watched Mia's expression and smiled slightly, nodding. "Looks like I guessed right."

And his goal was to make trouble for her and Joshua.

Will!

Ava had no memory of this person at all, let alone any reason she'd have offended him.

"Take me to him." Ava stood up.

"I'm not going. If you want to go, go yourself."

Ava didn't give her any chance to resist. She grabbed Mia and dragged her outside. Mia kept screaming for help. The servants nearby started to approach, but one look from Ava made them back off.

They'd seen before how scary Ava could be.

When she beat people up, it was brutal.

Mia was dragged into the car. Under Ava's pressure, Mia finally gave up the address of the Howard Villa.

Seeing the Howard Villa, Mia looked at it like it was the most terrifying place on earth, hiding in the car and refusing to get out.

Ava's cold eyes swept over the grand Howard Villa. Mia was dragged along by Ava and had no choice but to follow.

No one stopped them along the way, as if someone had given instructions, as if they knew she would come.

"Which floor?"

"Third... third floor..."

Ava headed to the third floor.

From the moment her car entered the estate, a pair of sinister eyes had been watching her.

Will sat on the third-floor balcony, his lips curling coldly. "Bring her to see me."

"Yes."

Ava was led before Will.

This was Ava's second time seeing Will, and she still felt his gaze was full of strange, oppressive force. He was like a wolf, ready to bite through someone's neck at any moment.

"Ms. Davis honors us with her presence. What brings you here?" Will's eyes stayed fixed on Ava. "Why doesn't Ms. Davis sit down and we can talk slowly."

"I won't sit. I'm not here as a guest."

Ava's expression was cold.

Will smiled, but his smile grew even colder.

"Mr. Howard, when did I ever offend you?"

Will's lips curved in a smile that didn't reach his eyes. "What do you mean?"

Ava threw Mia in front of Will. Will glanced coldly at Mia, then looked back at Ava. "How did my pet end up with you?"

"Why play dumb, Mr. Howard?"

"She must have done something to annoy you again. No problem, punish her however you want until you're satisfied." Will spread his hands generously, as if talking about a toy.
