Tying Up Loose Ends

Tying Up Loose Ends

Chase’s POV

The sun had just risen when I woke up fully naked. Memories of my transitioning to wolf filled my memories. Blood marring my senses. It was without  mercy. The girl I had saved, Nia began to tell me some truths about my pack.

I had snitches amongst my guards.

So all through yesterday I was sniffing out Snitches and ending them. I hated betrayers. I would not allow people  like Genevieve in my life any longer. Recalling how vicious I was, I smirked. The way I killed them yesterday, years to come people would still  to be talking about my brutality.

I liked that fear breeds respect and orderliness. Though I had worked with this concept since I became monstrous, but people still went behind my back.

Sitting up, covered with leaves from waist down I began to look around me. At my surroundings. At my skin. My rarity.

In the land of Lycanthropy, there were werewolves born to stand out amongst the others. They were stronger. Faster. Had more intellect. And were always leaders. These werewolves were of a different breed. They had brown furs and were always huge. Towering over every other werewolf. This Clan of wolves lived together in a pack. And they were called the Faulkners. Long before then we were big in number but after mum and dad died, they began to die too.

“Chase !!!!”

I turned to hear my name being called by a familiar voice. When the voice became louder, I already knew who it was. It was Dean and Angus.

Angus threw some clothes my way and turned around. Dean rolled his eyes and I smirked.

“Save that for your Luna” Dean said and I chuckled. I immediately wore the clothes and joined them.

“Hey brother” I said as I  enveloped him in a hug. “ thanks for the other day. Also what were you doing here? Is life with the humans getting boring?” I asked as I chuckled. I was surprised to see him in the werewolf side while I carried Nia.

“You don’t say. They are so weak, so I decided to pay my brother a visit” he said pulling me in for another hug. We laughed.  Brotherhood meant a lot to me, because these were the things my father did  before he moved to the world beyond. He told me to take care of myself and treat anyone who loves me as a brother. As family.

“So you are hunting huh? Isn’t that too early?” my brother asked me.

“I’m not really hunting. It’s Just a preparation.” I smiled. “ big you can say I was hunting bad people “

They laughed.

“So I heard that you visited some people yesterday ?” he asked.

“Yes I did.” I flashed Angus a smile and he looked away. He was the only witness to my brutality.

We walked in silence as we made our way out of the woods.

“your highness, there’s rumor going round that you have found a new mate” Angus said.

I snorted. “really?”  he nodded. He said people have been speculating on who Nia is  and when they couldn’t find out, they thought you could have mated her.

I chuckled. “ people have a lot of time on their hands”

Dean turned to me. “ who actually is Nia?”

Angus was the one to answer. “ she’s old Alpha’s  daughter. She was chased out of her pack after her father and mother died. She lives alone in the outskirts of the werewolf world “

Memories of what had happened to me when my parents died flashed through my mind. It felt like it was just yesterday.

The hunting season or the werewolf kingdom was about to start. My father and mother decide to go into the woods. They told me to stay indoors because a vampire/ werewolf Hunter had just recognized his powers. He had been on a Killing spree. I wanted to them to stay back home but then could my parents  stay home? I wondered how we would live without hunting. Other werewolves would see us as lazy. I mean how could An alpha and his Luna not hunt at all.

Not long ago before they finally left, I began to hear some noise in the woods. I wondered what it could be. I peeped from the door to find my pack members in front of my house. They were gathered in a circle, around something but the longer I looked, it felt like it was around someone. Who could it be? I asked myself. I went to the window. I called my personal servant to look too.  He looked  but as I stared at his face I began to worry. Suddenly he stood up and left the house.

I decide to follow suit. He was ahead of me. Then he turned suddenly and told me there was nothing to see here. I couldn’t understand because we just got here and I haven’t seen the reason people gathered at the front of our house. I gave in immediately and decided to head back in. That whole evening I didn’t hear of the alpha or Luna.

That night I awoke to some noise. I walked out of my bedroom.

A bright light was shone in my face and a hand wrapped over my mouth. Panic rose to my chest and I tried to scream but I couldn’t.

“chase!”

“Hmm” I flinched as soon as I felt contact on my skin. It was Dean. He was with Angus. They stared at me, worry laced across their faces.

“Your highness” Angus said. I gave him a small smile.

“come on let’s go home “ I smiled. “ did you get everything ready for my son’s birthday?”

“Will it be grand Chase?” Dean asked. I nodded smiling Still.

“I have invited almost everyone to this, well except you know who”

“emm your highness, there seems to be a Problem with Miss Arya” Angus said.

I stopped abruptly. “ what happened?”

And so he told me how the guards wouldn’t let her leave the pack to celebrate Chamberlin’s birthday.

I chuckled. Already visualizing het pouty lips and cute murderous eyes.

“I can deal with that” I smirked. We made it to the palace and suddenly I stopped. Arya and her friend were standing staring at some thing.

“What’s wrong with them?” Angus asked. I followed their eyes and smirked. I smelled trouble.
