Chapter 229 One solution
I wasn't able to cry, but my chest hurt badly. I have never felt like that. I slowly walked closer to him, and I went to my knees.
"Asher!" I said, but he didn't move. "Asher!" I repeated, but he still didn't move. I grabbed his arms to check his pulse, and that was very weak.
I started to panic. What should I do? I didn't know if he would survive the way back at all. There were so many wounds on his body, and he was thin, like his bones were visible through his body. He looked dehydrated as well.
"Asher!" I yelled, and this time, maybe my terrified voice got to his mind as he moved a little.
I just watched him, as I didn't dare to touch him. I didn't want to cause more pain for him that he was already suffering from.
My gaze wandered on the chain. I held them and I broke them with one move. It was so easy to break, but probably he had no energy left even to break those chains.
I didn't know what to do. I couldn't do mind link, and I didn't dare to move him. I started to check on him. I gently touched his limbs just to make sure there wasn't a fractured bone. I checked him carefully to know there wasn't any bleeding inside his body. I opened his eyelids as well, and when I let them close again, I saw them open up finally. Asher looked at me, and I couldn't hold myself back. I caressed his head.
"Don't worry, Asher. I will take you out of here. You will be fine."
However, when I wanted to move him, he made a face of pain.
"Okay, did it hurt?" I asked him in a panic.
He only moved his eyeballs, motioning me it did hurt him. I worried more. I bent down and checked his side. A few of his ribs were broken.
I looked up for a moment. They believed the Moon Goddess so much, and there and then I asked her to help me out, as with broken ribs I didn't dare to move him. Broken ribs could sting an important internal organ, so I really started to panic.
For a moment, I thought I would leave him here and ask for help, but that seemed a long way. As he was in a terrible state, I didn't dare to leave him here. I quickly searched for my phone in my pocket, but I had no signal, of course.
I just kneeled there next to him, and I didn't know what to do. How could I save him? I asked the Moon Goddess inside my mind.
"Please, give me advice." I asked her out loud, as I was really hopeless.
The others were chasing Harry and Lucy, and who knew when they would return? If Flint could come back, his speed was decent for running to the side of the woods and asking the Alphas for help, but he wasn't here and I couldn't even reach him.
I sat there hopelessly, when I had an Idea.
"Nyco, if you hear me, please contact Flint! Please tell him to come back here and help us out!"
Sadly, he couldn't let me know if he heard me, but I hoped my message would go to Aiden and Flint like that. I was sitting on the ground while Asher stared at me. He couldn't even talk. I wondered what they had done to him to lose his voice. I didn't dare to ask him to open his mouth. If they're done something like that to him, I certainly couldn't take it.
I was waiting there for a long time, and Asher closed his eyes more often. I hated to see him like that, and I hated the entire situation. I was a doctor, after all. I should have been able to help him somehow.
How will my life be if I lose him? How could I leave without him? How could I live, knowing that I was here, I could have helped him, but he died because no one was in the right place?
I sighed, as I couldn't hold myself back any longer. Crying shook my shoulders uncontrollably. However, soon I had a thought. A thought that would solve every problem in an hour. After that he would have got up easily from the ground, and perhaps he would hunt Harry and Lucy himself.
That could have been the solution for the whole situation, and with that, he could live with me for eternity. Only one thought has been in my mind that held me back from doing it. It was Nyco. Nyco was the other half of Asher. He was a werewolf, after all, and he lived with his wolf for a long time. A wolf for a werewolf was like his heart or other important part of its body. I didn't want to make the bad decision. I didn't want to kill him so early.
I cried quietly for a while, and Asher looked even weaker. I started to panic again, and I couldn't believe our story had to end like this. The thought that appeared in my mind earlier appeared again. But then I was thinking of Flint as well. How could I look into his eyes if he had known that I had killed his father, who helped all of us to get here?
For a moment, I recalled Nyco's warm fur and his cute face. How we cuddled when it was the full moon. I couldn't do that to him, but I was so scared to lose Asher. I sighed, and I looked up again. I asked the Moon Goddess to help me decide.
I was still waiting for a little while, then I started sobbing when I decided I couldn't wait any longer. I thought they would understand me later, and they would forgive me for making this decision.
I positioned myself above him, and with my finger, I found the perfect vein in his wrist. I lifted it to my face. My fangs appeared at the feeling of the vein on my lips, and I opened my mouth.
