Chapter 25 Surrender; 🔥
After Eva awakened, Kael had returned to the waterfall cave, lost in the clutches of despair. He had once been betrayed and had fallen into slumber after losing the woman he loved. But for centuries, he had clung to one thing: that Eva would return to him.
Now, however, the ancient seal with Eva was on the verge of breaking, and in a few days, on New Year's Eve, the blood moon would rise. He believed there was no longer any possibility of her bonding with him.
He was in pain, but there was something that hurt even more. Love!
Despite everything, he wanted to listen to the demon within him, to simply take Eva, hungry and brazen! To possess her...
The moment he entered the cave, his wolf form was left behind. He walked naked to the oasis and entered it. Unlike for the Rose women, this oasis was merely a source of healing for the wolves. Sometimes it could help them collect their thoughts.
Kael slowly immersed his naked body in the water and breathed, closing his eyes, surrendering himself to the stream of thoughts.
Warm sunlight struck his face. He stood before the Sacred Temple in endless anticipation. In his old-time shirt and carefully groomed hair, he looked every bit a gentleman.
From inside emerged Arion, the Great Wolf, with his aged body.
Kael immediately greeted him. A deep smile formed on Arion's face. "Ah, young wolf Kael! What brings you here?" he asked.
Kael spoke excitedly, "My leader, I wanted to ask about something. Has it been determined who will be the Ancient Alpha?"
The old wolf laughed. "You mean you're more curious about who Eva's mate will be, young wolf. I'm old, but I haven't lost my nose. Your scent gives you away," he said.
Kael was embarrassed, even blushing slightly.
The old wolf patted his shoulder. "I know you love each other, but we were fair and narrowed it down to the two who would best represent our race. The rest will be decided by Homay's light," he said.
Kael couldn't breathe. "The final two..." he murmured.
The old man walked down the path and shouted without turning back, "One of them is you, red wolf!" he said.
Kael was on the verge of going mad with happiness. "Thank you, thank you, my teacher! Thank you so much!" he said, running into the forest and suddenly tearing through his skin to transform into his wolf body.
He moved through the forest like the wind, and his eyes finally saw the mountain house. Eva was hanging laundry in the garden. Suddenly, he leaped in his wolf body and transformed before falling on her. His naked body enveloped Eva's small frame. Eva was laughing.
"You've really made this a habit, Kael!" she laughed heartily.
With deep happiness, Kael grasped Eva's waist and pulled her to him. He took her lower lip into his mouth and passionately kissed her wet lips.
Eva was truly captivated by this crazy wolf man's fire. After a moment, she came to her senses and, giggling, pulled away from his lips. "What's the reason for this happiness?"
"I spoke with Arion."
"And what did he say?" Eva asked excitedly.
"Two wolves remain, and now Homay's light will choose," he said.
Eva's eyes smiled with happiness. "I knew it! You succeeded, my love! Very soon you'll be my mate!" she said, grabbing Kael's chin and gently pressing herself to his lips.
After a passionate kiss, Kael pressed his forehead against Eva's and called out in a growling voice, "I love you, Eva! I love you, Rose's daughter. My woman!"
Kael was suddenly pulled back to the coldness of the water in the oasis. Tears streamed from his eyes. He placed his hand over the seal on his chest—the seal was growing weaker.
"I'm losing you, Rose's daughter! I'm losing you without ever truly having you..." he murmured.
Just then, the seal completely froze and went cold. Though weak, Kael had been feeling his connection to Eva. Now there could only be one reason for its complete disappearance.
"Eva, where are you? Are you alright?!" he roared, his voice echoing throughout the cave.
Kael emerged from his cave in wolf form and searched everywhere for Eva. That day, after killing the hunters, he hadn't sensed any movement around Eva, but now he couldn't ignore the possibility that something bad had happened to her. He had observed Eva's mountain house, the town vicinity, and even the mansion's surroundings in case she had gone to see Joe. But he could sense neither her scent nor her life energy, it was as if all trace of her had been erased from this world in an instant.
Finally, Homay's light came to mind. After Eva connected with her ancestors, he thought she must have remembered her past self and perhaps accessed her full power. So he quickly climbed to the mountain peak. The daylight reflected off the pristine white snow, curving almost deliberately in one direction. He looked that way. He saw the Great Willow with its magnificent presence, which hadn't been there before. He began to wait before it. Impatiently.
Finally, though weak, Kael felt Eva's seal in his chest. Then suddenly, the willow's crevice opened, and Eva and Elly emerged. Eva was wrapped in sorrow. Her face was pale, her eyelids heavy. Seeing her in this state made Kael's heart ache so much that right now he wanted to drag the entire world into catastrophe. Because they had hurt his woman.
Eva lifted her eyes from the ground, and seeing Kael in his wolf form with his massive body, tears streamed from her eyes. With trembling lips, she ran to him and embraced him as if seeking refuge. For the first time, Kael saw Eva looking at him with her old loving gaze. And he took her into his large body. He embraced her.
Kael turned his glowing amber eyes to Elly. Elly slowly moved her lips, saying "Take her!" and nodded.
Kael gently grasped Eva with his large teeth and placed her on his back. Like the wind, he descended the mountain and headed toward the waterfall cave. When he reached the cave entrance, he lowered his neck and let Eva down.
Eva was seeing this great stone entrance for the first time in this life. She caressed the symbols of Homay and Börü with her hands. With an ancient light gleaming, the door opened. When she entered inside, her face smiled for the first time. Since Kael could freely transform into human form in the cave, he changed and walked behind Eva in his human form.
Eva came to the oasis, reached out her hand, and just as she was about to touch the water with longing, her brows furrowed. She had remembered that Joe had also existed in the oasis.
Kael understood at that moment that something was wrong. He approached Eva, took her hand, and gently touched it to the water. "Once, a wise Rose woman told me that this oasis was their life water. This water is the best thing for a tired and hurt Rose," he said then.
Eva looked at Kael and smiled with longing. She watched with an admiring expression as the light filtered through his naked body. She could no longer control her emotions. She reached her hands to his chest and caressed the seal. Even though it had weakened, she loved feeling herself there.
"You're the only thing I need!" she said. And rising on her tiptoes, she surrendered herself to Kael's lips.
Kael was surprised, but he couldn't resist this woman he loved madly. His body began to burn. He was consumed with passion, longing, and love. Suddenly, he took her in his arms and laid her on the large bearskin on the ground.
He leaned over her and, caressing her face, growled in a husky voice, "I'm afraid of hurting you. I hunger for your skin! I may not be able to control myself."
Eva's eyes looked at him with passion. "You're actually hurting me by not touching me, my love!" she said.
These words ignited the fuse within Kael...
