Alpha's Revenge
At some point I must have fallen asleep, because the next thing I know, I am being shaken awake by Fredrick. He tells me that he decided to get us a room first just in case the King doesn’t see us today. Climbing out of the car, I stretch my arms and legs before grabbing my bag and following him into the hotel. I’m a bit paranoid about staying at another hotel after what happened at the last one, but I tell myself that nobody is after me or Fredrick, so we should be safe.
After checking in, we grab some lunch from the restaurant attached to the hotel and then head back to the room to freshen up before we head out again to the castle. It took us about thirty minutes to actually get to the gate and the guards let us in after contacting someone inside telling them of our presence. Honestly, I thought they would turn us away since we hadn’t called ahead or anything. The wrought iron gates opened and we started driving down this long drive-way that turned out to be a circular drive but we stopped right in front of the palace steps, and there were a lot of them. At least forty steps all the way up, but there were about ten before a landing that held four guards and then the other thirty or so before the palace doors that held about eight guards. Noticing all the guards started to make my heart race again. I just know there are even more inside and what if they let us in just to lock us up for coming without an invitation.
The door opened and Fredrick held out his hand for me to take and I did as he helped me out of the car. The palace doors opened and three men walked out. Two were flanking him and I could tell they were warriors, but the one in the front was of very high ranking based off of the power radiating from him. Instinctively, I bared my neck to him and he stopped walking and looked between me and Fredrick. I noticed that they were both looking at me confused and I blushed.
“I’m an Omega, and his aura is making me submit.” I say quietly to Fredrick. He nods and looks back at the man and says something but I’m not paying much attention and my heart is beating so loud that I couldn’t hear them anyway. The man gives an apologetic smile and I can feel his aura retreating.
“I’m sorry about that, sometimes I forget that I’m projecting my aura. Let me introduce myself. My name is Dylan and I am the best friend and Royal Beta. Who are you and what can we do for you both?” He asks politely.
“My name is Ally and I’m an Omega from the Silver Crescent pack.” I say to him.
“And my name is Fredrick, and I'm a member of the Red Dawn pack, but formerly the Gamma of the Silver Crescent pack. We’ve come to hopefully have an audience with the King about a very urgent matter.” says Fredrick.
“Hmm, well the King is kind of busy today, but perhaps you both should come to my office and tell me what’s going on, and if it is indeed as urgent as you say then the King will be notified. Get your things and come inside. Someone will take your car to the garage and we’ll provide you both with rooms.” He says before turning to leave.
“Well, you see, we didn’t think that you’d be meeting with us today so we got a room at a hotel in town.” I say and surprise even myself.
“Well, then you can just use the rooms to relax in case the King does hear from you today. Follow me to my office and we’ll talk.”
He turns again and Fredrick puts a hand on the small of my back as we begin to follow the three men back into the palace. We entered the foyer and the place is beautiful and huge. Surprisingly, it isn’t cluttered with a bunch of stuff, but very elegantly decorated in gold and white with marble flooring. I feel like my mere presence is bringing down the value of this place. There are pictures of the former king and queens down the long corridor leading to Beta Dylan’s office. “I’d love to explore this place. The art work alone is amazing.” I say to myself, or so I thought. I hear a light chuckle and look to see that Beta Dylan is looking at me with a small on his face and I blush for the second time.
“I’ll arrange for the both of you to have a tour when we’re done talking if you’d like Ally. The paintings in the library are my favorite.” he says.
“You have a library here!” I practically shout with excitement before realizing what I did and cover my mouth. He laughs loudly this time and the warrior beside him chuckle. I feel myself lean into Fredrick a bit.
“Ally, calm down. I told you they aren’t going to hurt you especially not for being excited about the library. Remember what I told you about telling the truth?” I shake my head yes and he continues. “Well, you were just being honest. I’m sorry Beta Dylan. Her reaction isn’t her fault. If I’m honest, I believe this has a lot to do with what we’re going to talk to you about today. You’ll understand once we get in your office.” A serious look comes over the Beta’s face and he nods as if he understands.
