Chapter 94 Lovely bride of the Alpha, Aurora.
94\. Lovely bride of the Alpha, Aurora.
Aurora's POV
Today would have been easier if my parents were alive. I wished for them to be standing by my side. I recall my father's excitement whenever he used to talk about my wedding with mom.
I recall my mother talking about shedding buckets of tears and that dreamy smile on her lips whenever she discussed my wedding with dad. Those days were the best days of my teenage years. I wish they could revive and watch their daughter dressed as a bride.
If not those days, then at least my parents could come back. I wish to witness that look on their faces I always dreamed of seeing on the day of my marriage.
Every daughter dreams of her marriage to take place in the presence of her parents whereas her parents dream for their daughter to marry an eligible person who would treat her like a princess and never let any problem cast a shadow of sorrow on her face.
I am lucky that I encountered one such guy and am going to tie the knot of marriage with him, but my parents are not here to see it.
I looked up at myself in the mirror as my eyes blinked with moisture. The wedding dress reminds me of my mother. It suits me like it was made exclusively for me. But the truth is, it belonged to my mother. This is her wedding dress.
When I was a teenager, I recall my mother cleaning our modest apartment. I was assisting her in rearranging our home. She was emptying her old copper trunk when she got hold of her bridal gown.
I still can't forget the emotions I had observed in her eyes. She was reminiscing her wedding day and how she entered the church as a bride, wearing this white wedding gown my father had selected for her.
Her narration echoes in my ears still as I peer at my reflection. I look just like her. A beautiful bride with nude make-up, hair curled from the tips and left freely to bounce over my bare shoulders. The off-shoulder gown hugs my curves as it also highlights my flawless cleavage under my collarbones.
I hold the same zeal in my eyes as I recall twinkling in her own in her wedding pictures. My parents were not rich financially. But they had an abundance of contentment and merriment, which is a thousand times scarcer than a hefty bank balance.
I was destined with Damien, my darling alpha, who is not just rich but an epitome of charm and contentment. With him I feel myself. I feel on top of the world. The vows I take today with him shall bind us forever.
"Mom and Dad, I wish you were here with me today. I wish you could meet Damien. He's the ideal partner for your daughter." Few tear drops dripped down my cheeks as I closed my eyes.
"Your daughter is taking a step towards her cheerful life with a baby coming home soon. I hope wherever you are, you are happy seeing your daughter begin a new walk in life with her husband."
I attempted to control my tears but they gushed out of my eyes. Taking some tissues just as I soaked my eyes dry, Madam Martha walked in, "Aurora, are you ready? Rosario and Brian are here to pick you up."
I wiped off my cheeks with the tissues carefully and nodded in a yes, "Yeah, give me a sec."
Hastily I tossed the tissues in the bin under the dressing table and whirled around. Our eyes met and watered together.
"You look heavenly, my girl. Your biological parents must be so happy for you." She engulfed me in her arms and kissed my forehead.
Before she left to take a call we were talking about my parents. It was because of her that I could wear my mother's wedding gown today. She arranged the best designers with the help of Ginny and they customized my dress to make it look exotic. The Alpha's bride had to wear a designer gown and they turned it into a wedding dress I don't think I have seen ever before.
"I just got carried away, Ma." I stretched my lips to smile.
"It's okay, honey. You are free to shed some tears today. From tomorrow onwards, there won't be any space for sorrow or distress in your life, let alone tears." She caressed my cheek.
I am glad to have Madam Martha. She filled the emptiness in my life and supplied me with what I've craved the most— an elderly figure to guide my path. She's made Damien and my life fortunate with her existence.
She is our strength. Had it not been for her, this wedding wouldn't take place. Her serene expressions wetted my eyes again. Who would have thought that the woman that guided me and taught me how to be a pleasing housekeeper would become my support system. I love her so much.
"I can't imagine my life without you. Thank you so much, Ma. Damien and I are blessed to have you." I whispered and hugged her tighter.
She was at a loss of words. Instead her eyes spoke and the shudder in her wrinkled cheeks. I kissed her hands and bowed my head in front of her as the burning in my eyes increased.
"Auroraaaaa," Astonished by the loud echo of my name I faced the door to find a fuming Ginny, my only bridesmaid.
Cladded in a purple shoulderless gown with a partial slit on the left side exposing her perfectly waxed leg, she was killing the day.
"Didn't I warn you to not cry! See, you've smudged your mascara. " She stormed towards me.
Ginny literally pulled me to the mirror and started setting my make-up again.
"You are a typical emotional bride, Aurora Collins. Couldn't you just suppress your freaking tears for sometime?" She flared her nose with her annoyed glare, freezing me in my spot.
"For God's sake you are marrying the fcking Alpha of the pack. You are an exceptional bride. The last thing the witnesses should see in your eyes are tears. Now is the time to smile and spread your radiance." I admired her face as she dusted some powder to conceal the tear marks.
Is this the Ginny who despised me? She is, however, now known as Ginny for her cheery demeanour. Not to mention the fact that she's become my new best buddy.
Life is so unpredictable, isn't it?
"Baby, let's get you out of here. Rosario and Brian have arrived to pick you up. Outside, the boys are grunting because their alpha is pressuring them to get you to the venue as fast as possible. He's itching to see you." Ginny put the veil of net across my countenance and led me out of the room.
We were silently striding outside the beauty salon unless Ginny abruptly halted. She turned to face me with a face empty of emotions that was hard to read.
I saw her face suddenly light up while she stretched out a present to me, "Happy birthday, Aura." She sang while lifting a lovely heart shaped pendant with 'D' carved in it.
Oh, ye ah I forgot, it is my birthday today.
The best birthday ever.
