Chapter 71 A new morning

Chapter 71 A new morning
71\. A new morning

"Aura, don't worry. Aura, I am here. I am here for you." His own shoulders trembled.

Alpha Damien was relieved to have found her. His tears of joy streamed down his eyes in an indefinite trail. She was finally here in front of him.

Aura refused to react, much less look up at his face and show her own comfort, but he was aware of her emotions. He had pained her beyond any measured limits. He deserved this from her.

And to top her grieving memories of this night, Peter Dursley appeared before her. Oh yes, PETER Dursley! The mastermind behind this unfortunate night.

Alpha Damien let go of her as he howled advancing ahead with menacing respiration. That hollow in his chest somewhat shrunk when he saw her run and he had frozen in his spot. It hit his heart strongly and intensely when she was knocked and dragged like an object.

It had stirred something into him and no matter how much he tried to move, he couldn't. Not unless he caught the sound of her stuttering, trembling voice that was hardly any strong to attract attention.

"Dursley!!!" He shrieked, turning towards him and hovered over him.

His eyes were bloodshot crimson. Hair messy and all over his forehead. His uneven breaths rang aggressively in silent air whereas his temper pumped his veins, making it obvious to any spectator's eyes that he was irritated to the last point of tolerance.

"Aurora," Damien heard Rosario sit down before her and instantly she threw her arms around his waist, hiding herself in his protection as if he was her lover, not Damien.

But he had no right to object to it after how he behaved with her. Alpha Damien didn't have to think about Aura's response towards Rosario much for his head was clouded with fury. His moist eyes gave away his aggression and he raised Peter with his neck.

"I excused your mistakes every time but—" He was interrupted by Aurora's loud cries.

She burst into tears in Rosario's arms. Damien threw a glance back at her and his energy dwindled. She seemed vulnerable.

"Shh, you're fine, minion. You're safe. Stop crying, please." Even though Rosario hushed nice things to her, assured her of being safe now and out of danger, her cries didn't lower. She only shrieked louder and louder, tearing both the guys' eyes.

"Ro-sa, I... H-he, m-my ba-baby... H-he t-threat... K-kill m-my b-baby and... I..." Damien's mouth dried out seeing his ever so composed and serene Aurora stuttering.

She was traumatized badly that even words failed to make an accurate statement. Her expressiveness was affected and she barely managed to express the atrocities this bastard dawned on her.

"It's okay, little minion is fine. We'll have it examined and make sure nothing has hurt our little baby. Okay?" Rosario cast Damien an accusing gaze as he wrapped his arms around Aura tightly.

He communicated his annoyance through that one glance. Then, there was no jealousy in the Alpha's eyes. Because it was crystal clear that the woman he claimed to love with all his heart only shared a pure friendly bond with the guy who once was in love with her.

But he suspected her.

What's more.. It was clear that Rosario knew about her pregnancy and supported her like a true friend. It was only him— Damien Hunter, the so-called strongest personality who failed her. Failed them and obviously their little baby by not perceiving anything.

Regret and remorse filled his chest. He turned back to Peter, a muscle at his jaw ticking. There was no need to talk out emotions. Her sobs cut the air and triggered his anger a thousand times more. It was time for action and that's what he was going to do. He was going to vent his frustration, anger, remorse and every emotion he felt on Peter Dursley.

Her broken conveyance fueled his wrath and he shoved Peter in the body of the tree. Damien's cinder glare burned down his soul, making him shudder. He gathered him again, his fist colliding with his jaw. Peter cried. He attempted to throw some punches but he was a weak wolf.

He was not even a wolf to be honest for a true wolf would never use females as object and show his power on them. Peter did. Not just on other females in the past, but his own Aurora in present. He growled, hitting Peter hard in his mouth.

His jaw broke. Damien scraped his outgrown nails on his bare chest, leaving a deep trail of wound. Then he tossed him like a light object several times and ultimately threw him on the ground at his feet.

He bled and bled causing Peter to cough. His trousers were red, soaked wet with blood. Breaths hardly came out of his lungs. He was half dead— the alpha however was not done with him.

It could never be enough. Broken bones and spilled blood would not give him peace. His death would. Hence, with a loud growl given out with his head facing heavenwards, Damien seared Peter with a deathly glare with those burning ember eyes.

He picked Peter like a small pet and gave him a last look before he lowered his grumbling mouth to his neck— all prepared to tear his neck off his body.

"St-stop him, Rosario. H-he will kill him." A chord in his chest felt irritated, hearing her address him like that.

Obviously she cared as she didn't want him to commit a murder for her.

But her ignorance only fueled his emotions more. She was not in his arms because of Peter. She was away for hours, out in the cruel world exposed to various uncertain dangers because of Peter— yeah Damien sent her away, but at his influence. She, who always opened herself like a child before her mother, honest and true, for the first time denied him any response. That's all because of him... Only and only him.

Another howl escaped his mouth, he discarded Peter like trash and collapsed, turning back into his human form. The sirens of the cop's vehicle buzzed, indicating their arrival. They surrounded Damien and Peter with ammunition.

"Alpha, are you okay?" One of them asked.

He nodded slowly and rose on his feet. "I want him charged with possible sections of manipulation, molestation and instigation, officer. Make sure he rots in the advanced dungeon before his final death sentence." He breathed between his tears.

His heart was heavy, sensing Aura behind him. There was only one thing he craved to undertake— that is to pull her in his arms and cry his heart out. He couldn't do that sadly, even if he was dying to do it.

"Do not worry, Alpha. Beta Brian has intimidated all the necessary information to us. We will have him bleed in court." The officer said. "Third degree torture comes handy with it. He will regret planning against you, your highness."

It sounded soothing. The officer was the one appointed by Damien himself as the chief cop of his democratic pack. Since he was more into excelling as a businessman, he gave away the responsibility of safety and security of their pack in Manhattan to this officer. He was sure he would handle Peter in the most satisfying way possible— yet a chord of his heart felt unattended.

It felt not consoled because Aurora was not acknowledging his presence. She was busy hugging Rosario for consolation even if it didn't provide as much relief as he would do.

"Take him out of my sight, Chief. Take him away before I kill him right here." Damien scowled.

His wish was granted within about a minute and Peter was taken away. It happened soon after the chief officer kicked him in his stomach and handcuffed him with silver cuffs the cops handled with leather gloves, causing Peter to shriek.

Now there was only Damien left with his scared Aura in the arms of his enemy— distressed and mourning.

'Don't think about it, Damien. Just go and take her in your arms. Please.' Hunter's statement shuddered his shoulders.

The sun poured through clouds that were gray and gloomy. Another day had dawned, bringing with it new hopes and aspirations. He eyed the rising sun.

Alpha Damien tried not to look vulnerable as he whirled around. It took every cell in him to control his tears and kneel down before her.

His sudden closeness made her quiver. She shifted in Rosario's lap— so that none of his body parts touched her. Not even his knee that was brushing with her bare bruised feet.

"Aura," As he began, she exploded into sobs and tears, clinging into Rosario.

But... This was not going to be easy, was this?
