Chapter 121 Fatal Silence
Chapter 119
Rosa's POV.
Rosa!” The word tore out of caramel lips like she had seen a ghost entering into the room via the wall.
She was standing at the vanity table, which was covered with makeup bottles, brushes, and little containers. She had been looking in the mirror, putting on lipstick or powder or something. Her hand froze in the air, holding a makeup brush.
Her eyes met mine in the mirror's reflection. They went huge and round with shock.
"Rosa!" Caramel's voice burst out of her mouth like an explosion.
The makeup brushed quickly dropped. If she had been caught in Ryder's living room. She may come up with lies. But in Ryder's bedroom, there is no place to hide.
I said nothing. I just stared at her. Putting up a strange smile.
"I... I swear I can explain..." Her voice came out all shaky and wobbly.
She turned fully around now to face me. Her whole body was trembling. The makeup brush dropped from her fingers and clattered onto the vanity table.
"Shhhhh." I pressed one finger to my lips, making the sound for silence.
I stepped inside the room and pushed the door shut behind me with my foot. Then I reached back and turned the key that was already in the lock.
Click.
Now we were locked in together. Just the two of us.
I set the tray down on the floor, keeping the knife hidden underneath it.
"I knew it," I said. My voice came out calm and quiet. Too quiet. "I knew that you were nothing but a rat."
"I... I swear to the moon goddess I can explain!" Caramel's voice got higher and more desperate.
"What do you want to explain?" I asked, taking slow steps toward her.
She backed up until her legs hit the vanity table. She couldn't go any further.
I reached behind my back and pulled out the small gun I'd tucked into the waistband of my pants. I'd brought it specially for this. My fingers wrapped around the handle, and I pointed it at her.
Caramel's mouth opened in a silent scream. She dropped down to the floor immediately, falling to her knees. Her hands shot up into the air above her head, palms facing me.
"That you are sleeping with my fated mate behind my back?" The words came out sharp and hard.
"I... I can explain... Rosa..." She was stuttering now, barely able to get the words out. "I... I can..."
"Explain what?" I snapped, my voice rising.
I took another step closer. The gun stayed pointed right at her.
"What baseless explanation do you want to give? That you've been sleeping with my fated mate behind my back? After all I have done for you?"
My hands were shaking now, but not from fear. From anger. Hot, burning anger that filled my chest and throat.
Tears were dripping from Caramel's eyes. They were pouring down like rain down her cheeks, running make-ups.
Sweaty palms pressed together to appease me. But, nah, it had gone beyond that.
"No... no, it's... it's not like that!" she cried out.
Caramel's body shook like a leaf meandering on the surface of a disturbed water.
No going back.caramel had toyed with the tail of a python. It must bite her. No going from all the evil she had done especially with our I have loved and treated her like my own.
That chameleon knew what I had done to wolves that crossed my path in the past. Shouldn't that put a bit of fear into her mind.
She pretended to be a chameleon, eating the food I was eating, in my absence, pretending that she was smart.
I tried to warn her, but she would listen.
Oh! She thought I would forgive her or let it slide since we have been sleeping with each other and sharing our quenching our sexual thirst.
She was wrong.
I moved to the table where I'd set down the tray. With my free hand, I pulled the knife out from underneath it. The blade caught the light from the window and gleamed.
"Have this!" I commanded, my voice ice-cold.
I held the knife out toward her and tucked back to back.
My finger stayed tight looped around the trigger. Any funny move she made was faster than I would want it.
Her face bewildered as sh
e stared at the gun in my hand. Her mouth hung open.
She knew that death had come but not this quick.
