Make Me Calm
PIPER
I don't understand myself. Seriously, why do I have to do stupid things? I want to maintain my position in this house. As soon as Harper dragged me and her friends did something to me, at that moment, something inside me whispered.
Hang in there! Please hang in there!
I heard that sentence over and over again, spinning in my head. So, whatever happened. Their shifter energy was torturing my human energy. Seriously, I could feel my body reacting, making me go haywire.
Once my consciousness was fully restored, Emma told me everything. And this morning, just as Damon had wished. I woke up early, finding a pink suitcase near the door.
"These are all the things I think you will need later. But if you want to bring anything else, tell me. I will prepare it now," said Emma.
"But, I don't know where we're going yet. What do you think Damon will do to me?" I asked to make sure.
"Why do you ask that?"
"I just feel like that! I mean, because yesterday…" I stopped talking as I heard footsteps approaching.
Emma stepped aside, giving me space. When she acted like that, I knew it was Damon. And sure enough, the man with the stern look approached me.
"Are you done packing?" he asked. He glanced at my suitcase, then moved closer to me. He touched my cheek as if checking my temperature.
"Yeah!" I answered shortly. I had asked him before. Where would he take me? But Damon didn't give me a satisfactory answer. He just said I would enjoy the time I needed.
"Okay, let's go now!" He led me to the car.
I kept quiet during,g the journey, even though my chest was beatifically. My mind still clearly remembered what Harper and the others did to me: the moon's water, their energy, the pressure from them.
I was just a human, and three of them turned into wolves in front of me. Those beasts could have pounced on me, killing me in seconds. But, because of my position. My logic forced me to survive because I thought I was the one who had the important position as Damon's wife.
"I'm sure you'll love this place. Like, you need to be here!"
"What place? You didn't tell me before!" I replied,
"Water, we're going to Gallatin Canyon, staying there. How many days do you need to calm yourself down?" he asked.
"We're going there? Now?" I replied, hiding a bit of my excitement. I didn't think a guy like Damon could do something like this.
"I asked, how many days do you usually need to calm yourself down?"
I took a deep breath and lowered my head for a moment. I tried to remember everything again. Did I ever have time to think about myself? Did I ever find a place to calm myself down?
"I don't know!" I replied numbly.
"Then take as much time as you need," he said.
"B-but, aren't you working? Will you accompany me there?"
"I'm not stupid enough to leave my wife alone there, especially since there's a herd of mountain shifters there!" he said.
I flinched despite how Damon treated me. But, as the days went by, I realized more and more that I was truly living in a shifter environment. I would have to get used to interacting with creatures like this.

"Oh my God," I muttered, mesmerized by the beautiful scenery that nature presented to me. Look how perfect these waters are. The sound of the flowing river, the pine trees with the cool air. This greenery tempts my eyes.
"We're going to stay there, for a few days. Did you bring your essay?" Damon asked,
I didn't say anything apart from smiling faintly at him. After all, he treated me only out of pity. From the start, he viewed me as a transaction tool. I also have to pay all my debts.
"Welcome Mr and Mrs Xereen," said a woman, after which several people took care of our belongings from the car.
The woman seemed to be talking to Damon; then she turned to look at me. She approached me with a friendly smile.
"Let me take you to your room, Mrs Xereen," he said.
I swallowed my saliva roughly, glancing at Damon. He nodded his head, signaling that everything was fine for me. "I have to meet someone here! You just rest first, this afternoon we will have a bonfire by the river," he said.
"Okay!" I replied.
I followed the woman's footsteps in front of me very awkwardly. That's because I wondered, is she human? Or is she also a shifter like Emma? I can't tell them apart. They look like humans from the physical, but from the inside, there is a terrifying beast.
"Don't be so awkward, I'm a shifter! Just like the others, but I won't hurt you," the woman said.
I flinched, stopping in my tracks. I didn't expect to hear such words from her, "I'm Mona, the head maid of this villa. I take care of all the needs of this villa."
"Nice to meet you, Mona!" I replied stiffly.
Oh my, the effects of what Harper and my friends did to me made me all over the place. I was scared, but on the other hand, I didn't want to seem weak. More or less, I learned about the hierarchy in the pack. Emma told me.
Alpha is much loved; he is the soul of the pack. Then Beta is Alpha's right-hand man, and the trained Gamma troops are divided into several sections, with different positions and responsibilities in the pack.
Then, my position as Alpha's wife is that of Luna. A reflection of the Alpha's prowess, a pride for him, and the mother of all mothers of shifters in the pack. So, I don't want to embarrass Damon. I don't know; it's just my instinct to survive.
"Alpha Damon told me everything! I'm sorry for what happened to you, but Miss Harper is always like that," Mona said. She opened the door, letting me in first.
"Thanks, Mona!" I replied flatly. I purposely didn't say much.
Mona then turned towards the room's balcony; she slid the glass door. "I have prepared a Jacuzzi for you. I have chosen several aromas, and I hope they suit your taste. Please take a warm bath before dinner," she said

I was amazed by the way Mona treated me so well. She was not only gentle but kind. She prepared some things that made me feel more comfortable.
After soaking in warm water, I felt my mind was much more precise. My body also received a perfectly relaxed reaction. This could also be the effect of the aroma of soap and flowers Mona provided in the warm water tub.
"Please wear this dress because the afternoon weather here is quite cold, so I suggest you wear this option," repeated Mona.
"Thank you so much, Mona! You are so kind to me," I said awkwardly.
Mona shook her head. "It's my job to serve you, Luna! If you're done getting ready, please come downstairs. Dinner is ready," she said.
I glanced around. How long had it been? Why hadn't I heard Damon's voice? It was strange. It seemed that because I was in a strange place, I feared losing Damon. I feared being left behind in this area, let alone what kind of wild animals were in those forests.
"What about the campfire?" I asked before Mona walked away.
"Don't worry about it, I and the others will take care of that for you," she replied.
After that, I went downstairs, following the smell of cooking. My feet strolled without hesitation, even though my logic told me everyone in this villa was a wolf. I was like a lost deer who they would attack at any time.
Someone suddenly hugged me from behind. "Argh!" I screamed. The person immediately pulled me, wrapped his arms around my waist, and locked my movement.
"Shhh, it's me," said a soft voice, which, of course, I knew very well. Only then did my body calm down.
"You smell so good," Damon said, breathing in the scent of my slender neck. My eyes were closed to hold back the ticklish feeling, but my body was writhing in pleasure.
"Damon, someone can see us," I said.
"Why is that? Isn't this a normal thing for married couples to do!" he said.
"But….."
"Let's have a quick dinner, and then we'll enjoy a bonfire afterward," he said. He kissed my neck several times and pulled my hand toward the dining table.
There wasn't much conversation during dinner, but my heart was racing because Damon's gaze had been on me the whole time.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I dared to ask.
"You don't think I'll eat you because we're having dinner right now, do you?" he said.
I choked; how could he say something like that so bluntly? Moreover, his facial expression was very flat, as if he didn't feel guilty.
"You're joking, right?" I made sure
Damon shrugged his shoulders. "You look so beautiful in this dress, it makes me really want to eat you."
I stopped chewing my food. "Well, I think I'm pretty full," I said.
Damon nodded; he stood up and held my hand so tightly. "Let's go to the next activity; I will make you very calm tonight," he whispered, pulling me to follow his steps.
How will he make me calm down?
