Adrian’s POV
I couldn't take my eyes off her.
Eden lay unconscious in our moon suite. She looked tiny against those massive silver sheets.
Twelve hours. She'd been out for twelve hours straight.
Maxim paced around the room. My wolf was also going crazy with worry.
"She should have woken up by now." His voice had that edge I rarely heard. "This isn't normal, even considering we had some intimate moments last night."
I kept my voice steady. "Shadow Claw drugged her hard" Thinking about it made me want to punch something. Vincent would pay for that. "Add in the bond formation and last night..."
Maxim ran his hands through his hair. "Dude, look how small she is! That much wolfsbane could've killed her!"
The room got colder. I was pissed. Ice started forming on the windows - happens when I lose my cool.
"Vincent's gonna pay for this," I said. My claws were coming out. Had to force them back.
"We need Zara," Maxim dropped into a chair. "Like, now."
I already had my phone out. Zara picked up right away.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"Eden's been out for twelve hours. Heavy wolfsbane dose. Bond formation."
She inhaled sharply. "Ten minutes. Keep her elevated. And don't mess with the bond. Her system's probably in total shock."
I turned around. Maxim was already fixing Eden's pillows. Never seen him so careful with anything.
"She's too skinny," he said, touching her arm. "When's the last time she ate right?"
I studied her face. Those dark circles looked like permanent accessories.
"Probably never." That hurt to think about. Our Luna, half-starving all these years.
Zara showed up right on schedule, loaded with supplies. One look at Eden and she went serious.
"Both of you – out." She was already setting up some serious healing tech. "Need to scan without Alpha interference."
I started to object. No one orders an Alpha around. But Maxim grabbed me. "Come on, Ice King. Let the doc work."
We barely made it outside when Zara stuck her head out.
"What's her bloodline?" she asked. "Need to know for treatment."
"Special hybrid," I said.
Maxim jumped in, "Could be the prophecy girl."
"Oh shit." Zara's eyes got big. "Give me an hour."
Door shut. Maxim and I were lost in our thoughts. Could feel his restlessness through our twin bond. Matched my own concern.
Longest hour of my life. When Zara came out, she looked worried.
"Her whole system's messed up," she said. "Starving. Too much wolfsbane. Her wolf's been locked up so long it's going crazy."
"How do we fix it?" I asked.
"Rest. Real food. No mate stuff until she's stronger." She held up a hand before we could argue. "I mean it. Push her now and you could break her for good."
"Fine," I said. My wolf hated it, but whatever. "We wait."
Maxim nodded, though I felt his frustration. "I'll hit up Eleanor about food. She needs some serious calories."
The sun was setting when it happened. I felt it through our bond. Got to her side fast. Maxim was right there too.
Her eyes opened. Confusion hit first. Then fear.
"Easy," I said, trying to keep her calm with my Alpha energy. "You're safe. You're home."
Eden's breath hitched. She whispered. "Everything... hurts."
Maxim said gently. "You got enough wolfsbane in you."
She tried sitting up. Almost fell. I caught her. She was shaking but leaned into me anyway. The bond pulsed between us, raw and needy.
"What happened to me?" she asked, looking at the weird shimmer under her skin. "Why did I pass out?"
"The mate bond should have made you stronger," I explained, trying to keep the anger out of my voice. "Connecting with two Alphas will give Luna instant power. But..."
"Those Shadow Claw bastards pumped you full of wolfsbane," Maxim cut in, looking pissed. "It's blocking your wolf side, messing up the whole process."
"So I'm not supposed to feel this weak?" Her voice shook.
I said. "The wolfsbane is fighting against your transformation."
Her voice shook. "You mean I'm actually turning into half-wolf?"
"You always were," I said. "Zara's working on something to flush the wolfsbane out of your system. Once that's gone...You'll feel what it really means to be our Luna."
"Our bond's already trying to boost your powers," Maxim added. "But first we gotta get rid of all that poison they put in you."
She looked between us, blushing hard. Through our bond, I could feel her remembering last night. Her emotions were all over the place, but there was definitely something warm there.
"So... about last night..." She bit her lip. "The bond's already formed?"
Damn, she was cute when she got shy. Made my wolf want to kiss her again.
"Yeah, baby wolf." I touched her cheek. "You're officially ours now."
Her blush got even deeper. "What happens next?"
"Right now? You rest." I leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead. "Let Zara's medicine work. Get your strength back."
"And eat," Maxim added, sliding closer. "Eleanor's already planning foods."
He stole a quick kiss from her lips, making her squeak in surprise. "Gotta feed our Luna right."
"Last night was..." She trailed off, looking down.
"Amazing?" Maxim grinned.
"Perfect," I finished, tilting her chin up. Her lips were too tempting to resist. I kissed her slowly, letting her feel how much she meant to us through our bond.
"Oh," she breathed when I pulled back. Her eyes were a bit dazed.
"Get used to it, little wolf." Maxim nuzzled her neck. "You're stuck with two very possessive Alphas now."
She actually giggled. The sound made both our wolves practically purr with satisfaction.
"Rest now," I said softly, stealing one more kiss. "We've got all the time in the world."
"You'll stay?" She was fighting sleep, but her eyes kept closing.
"Try and make us leave," Maxim murmured, kissing her temple.
I watched her drift off, a small smile still on her lips. My wolf was much happier now - our Luna accepting us, wanting us close.
Eden curled up between us in her sleep, completely trusting. The bond felt warm and right, getting stronger by the minute.
Through our twin bond, I felt Maxim's satisfaction matching mine. Our Luna was finally where she belonged - safe between her Alphas.
Sleep tight, baby, I thought, watching her peaceful face. Although we didn't manage to fully enter her body last night, I believe that day is coming soon. Both our wolves and our desires will be fulfilled.
