HUNTER'S POV
We exchanged glances, aware of the new dynamics between us. However, I felt quite uncomfortable with this duty, and an idea popped into my mind.
“A bath would be perfect right now,” I commented. “Where can I find a bathroom?”
Zora nodded to me, indicating the corridor. “I'll show you the room they prepared for us. There you'll find everything you need.”
Zora led me through the corridors of the imposing Lodge, its silent atmosphere contrasting with the hustle of the celebration outside. I observed the walls adorned with tapestries that told ancient stories of the pack, admiring the richness of their culture. As we walked, the sweet scent of wood interwoven with fresh herbs filled the air.
“I hope you like the room, Hunter. Ignis made sure to prepare something special for us,” Zora commented, opening double doors that revealed a spacious and richly decorated room.
The room was illuminated by the afternoon light filtering through thin curtains. A majestic canopy bed with soft sheets occupied the center, surrounded by elegant furniture and decorative touches reflecting the pack's nature.
“Wow, this is amazing,” I remarked, impressed with the grandeur of the room.
Zora smiled, appreciating my reaction. “I'm glad you liked it. I thought we deserved a bit of comfort after all the celebrations.”
“Definitely a great idea,” I agreed, stepping into the room. “I think I'll take a bath before dinner. I need to relax a bit.”
“Of course, the bathroom is right there.” Zora pointed to an adjacent door where soft light filtered in, indicating a cozy environment.
I entered the space, impressed with the care given to its preparation. The bathroom, clad in white marble, exuded an aura of relaxation. The luxurious bathtub was inviting, and the promise of a moment of tranquility before dinner was tempting.
“Thank you, Zora,” I said, smiling at her.
“Rest and refresh, Hunter. If you need me, I'll be outside,” Zora offered with a kind smile.
As the door closed, I undressed, letting the bear skin fall to the side, and stepped into the hot water. The relaxing warmth enveloped my body, soothing tense muscles.
While bathing, I reflected on the events that marked my journey to this point: the battle against the bear alongside Fierce, the painful rejection I had to conceal, and Zora's acceptance as my Luna. My thoughts floated between the past and the present, between Fierce and Zora.
Exiting the bath, shrouded in steam, I realized Zora had expectations for that night, but my mind wandered to the one wolf I truly desired.
I shook my head, pushing away all thoughts, and went for fresh clothes that were undoubtedly laid out in the room. Upon leaving the bathroom, Zora sat on the bed, waiting for me.
“Feeling better?” she asked, smiling.
“Yes, much better. Now I'm ready to face anything,” I replied confidently.
Zora's smile was welcoming, and she got up from the bed. “I'm glad to hear that, Hunter.” She approached, holding my hands, her eyes seeking mine.
I stared at Zora, a lump forming in my throat. It was hard to ignore the truth that lingered between us; I knew what she sought.
“What time is dinner?” I asked, desperately searching for a neutral topic.
Zora approached, our faces inches apart. “We still have time,” she murmured, and her lips sought mine in a kiss that inevitably carried the expectation of consummation.
For a moment, I allowed her to kiss me. However, something within me resisted.
I pulled away, the scent of other wolves lingering in the air. Zora, confused, asked with her eyes what was happening.
“The omegas have arrived,” I replied, my mind instantly focused on the one wolf that was the best excuse for the moment.
Zora frowned, processing the information. “Oh, right. I'm sure they won't bother us.”
Her lips approached again, seeking a moment of connection that I was hesitant to offer completely.
“Maybe later,” I suggested, aware of the frustration in Zora's eyes. “You need to get ready for dinner with your father.”
Zora took a deep breath, reluctant, and agreed. “Alright, I also need a good bath.”
“I'll check out some clothes,” I communicated, and Zora informed me that she had already picked out a suit for me.
I nodded, thanking her for the consideration. As Zora headed for the bathroom, I found myself facing an internal dilemma. Looking at myself in the mirror, I questioned the decisions I had made and the complexity surrounding my relationship with Zora.
The suit, meticulously prepared by Zora, seemed like a symbol of the expectations placed on me. I wore it, feeling the weight of the fabric and the responsibility. With each button I fastened, I wondered if I could fulfill the role assigned to me.
The room was laden with the expectation of the imminent dinner with Ignis and the Alpha King Garnet. As I adjusted my suit in front of the mirror, Zora emerged from the bathroom in a robe. Her graceful walk to the closet caught my attention, and my gaze inevitably followed every move.
Zora removed the robe, revealing her natural form. I tried not to look too much, but the truth was undeniable: Zora was one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen. Her red hair cascaded over her shoulders, and even though she was an extraordinarily beautiful woman, my mind wandered to a different image—the image of the wolf that occupied my thoughts.
Then, Zora chose a silver dress that gently outlined her curves. She turned her head, looking at me sideways, and asked, “Could you help me zip up the dress? I can't reach the zipper behind.”
My response was a silent nod, and I approached to fulfill the request.
Carefully, I zipped up the dress, avoiding any sudden movements that could hurt her. Zora thanked me, and I responded with a simple “You're welcome.”
A brief moment of silence settled in, and as I stepped back, I returned to the mirror. Zora approached, admiring the result.
“The suit looks great on you,” she commented.
“Thank you for deciding this for me,” I thanked, genuinely touched by Zora's attention.
“I'm just taking care of my husband,” she said tenderly, and my heart skipped a beat.
The word “husband” echoed in my ears, bringing to the surface the responsibility I carried and the choice I had to make. It wasn't just about accepting the role of Alpha King and choosing her as Luna, but also about the complicated dynamic between us.
“Come on, Hunter, Ignis and my father just arrived,” Zora called, interrupting my reverie.
I nodded, determined to face the next challenge. Zora took my hand, and together we left the room, ready to face dinner with Alpha King Garnet and, later on, the challenges that leadership of the pack held for us.
