Chapter 164
Vladimir:
“You seem to be satisfied.” Konstantin said, and I smirked, taking a seat beside him. “I take it that you enjoyed your little woman?”
The fact that I knew not to tell him about what Elena told me wasn’t something that I liked, but I knew, for her safety, that I shouldn’t be putting her through the risk of thinking that she could go through such a thing. Plus, I had no benefit in him finding out that I knew of it now. In the end, I knew how to get what I wanted when I wanted it, but for now, the man was going to think me an oblivious fool.
“I trust that you were well while I was gone? I haven’t heard of you despite the fact that I knew that your men have been giving you the information of everything that I did throughout my entire stay in the States.” I said, and he smirked, handing me the files where his ‘businesses’ were taken care of. Killian was sure to put up a few offers that he knew would seem logical for a man that wouldn’t be rejecting anything from him, and considering the fact that he was supposedly working with me, a ‘dead’ man, we knew to make it believable.
“I was surprised to find out that you got everything in order. It is something that is not even…”
“I am not your human second hand.” I said, stopping him. He looked at me, studying my expression, before he nodded.
“I can tell. Though I am surprised by the things that you managed to achieve in such a short period of time, I cannot say that I am disappointed.” He said, and I nodded. “How did you explain the fact that you are alive to Killian? I was surprised that your mother didn’t try seeing you.”
“She had her reasons and I knew not to ask. I am not even sure if Killian knows that she is aware of me being alive, and I didn’t want to risk putting her in a tough spot with the man. You know, he tends to be on his toes lately, especially after everything that he’s been through,” I said, trying to make it out as if I was going to give him something that he could hold onto.
I was no fool though, the last thing that I was going to do was give him anything on Killian. But the man didn’t need to know that. I was going to feed him with the information that I wanted him to know and it was going to stay there. “He is having a son.”
“What?” Konstantin asked, now clearly shocked.
“Eleanor is with child. A boy to be in specific.” I said, knowing that this was going to tick him off. As Alphas, female wolves were often easily chosen as Alphas. It only depended on her strength, her influence, and how well she can run a pack. But as Pakhan, it was a man’s world, and we all knew that having a son was often a necessity to keep the family name going.
“How?” He asked, and I raised an eyebrow at the man.
“They are married, and I doubt that I am going to need to explain to you how a woman is impregnated by her husband,” I said, crossing my arms over my chest. It took everything in me not to smirk as I knew and saw that the man was boiling inside. He wanted to think that he was now stronger, with me as his heir, he believed that he could surpass Killian, especially with the fact that he knew that as his beta and second hand, I knew more than any of the other men would have.
“We are going to need to do something about this. This boy is not to be born, not when we can stop it.” He said, and I raised an eyebrow, ignoring the anger and instinct to want to kill the man for thinking that he could harm my Alpha and his Luna, nevertheless, even his children were my niece and nephew.
“You are going to kill an unborn child?” I asked, raising an amused eyebrow at the man. “I have known you to stoop low, but this is an all time low even for you.”
“The child being born will only make the man grow stronger. And if he does, there is going to be a problem for us. We have allies that are depending on the fact that they are weakening since you have joined our side, since he killed you…”
“I am not a child murderer, especially an unborn one.” I said, and he smirked, knowing that he was going to want to play a final card to try and fix things.
“Maybe not, I agree. But the woman is the reason why you were kicked out of your pack. She should at least pay for it,” he said, and I raised an eyebrow at him, knowing that he was trying his best to trigger me against Eleanor, clearly wanting me to get annoyed. His eyes darkened, and it didn’t take a fool to realize that he was planning something stupid in his mind. “You can get your revenge this way. You know, there is nothing worse for a woman than to lose her child, especially an Alpha and Pakhan’s baby.”
I stayed quiet for a few seconds, tapping the dining table twice before getting up. He raised an eyebrow, and shook his head in question.
“You seem to not like my suggestion?” He asked, and I shook my head.
“On the contrary,” I said, choosing not to leave this up to him. If I did, then he was going to do something stupid, and that was going to have me killing him long before we managed to work on what I came here for. And I was not going to leave before we found out what was the source of his ‘empire’ and not before I broke it down. “But I am going to need to think of a way to make this a memorable event. You know what they say; ‘revenge is best served cold’…”
