The Next Day
We all stood under black umbrellas as the rain drizzled. In front of us was a priest conducting Mrs Anna’s funeral.
Kilhan ordered that his late mother be buried in the compound so she’s always close to home. He needed that warmth.
At my right stood Celine, holding onto Kilhan tightly. Sadness was evident on their faces. One of his men held up an umbrella for them.
I kept a straight face, adjusting my black shirt and tie as I watched them put her casket into the ground.
“Are you okay?” Caesar asked softly, and I nodded, keeping my eyes on the casket.
“Yes, I am. Thank you.” I answered. He was the one holding up the umbrella for both of us. I wanted him to stay back at the house, but he insisted that he come with me.
His exact words were “I am coming with you, Alpha Charles. I’ll be ready to protect you if anything happens.”
Soon, Kilhan, Celine, and his pack members moved forward to pour sand on her casket before it was covered.
All this while, I took glances at Celine and my nephew, making sure they were okay.
The ceremony ended and we all headed into the house. I needed an update about Betty and her punishment before I left.
‘I am never going to let her anywhere near Celine again. Alpha Kilhan’s punishment better impresses me.’ I thought as we all settled in the living room.
Caesar, Celine, Kilhan, Drex, and I. We were the only ones that were authorized to be there for her judgment.
“Are you okay?” I asked in a whisper, looking at Celine, and she let out a faint smile.
“I just want this to be over.” She responded, and I nodded.
“Soon, Sister. Very soon.” I responded.
Looking up, the guards already pulled Betty into the living room. I had no idea where she was kept but I knew for sure it wasn’t a pleasant place.
She looked insane.
As soon as the guards let go of her and walked out, she fell to the ground and hid her face.
“I am so sorry for what happened.” She wept.
“It wasn’t supposed to happen at all. Yes, I admit I was wrong but I did try to change. I wanted to be a good person to you and your family. I told him to stop whatever we had planned. I am very sorry.” She cried out, and I sighed, shaking my head in disgust.
I mean, anyone on the verge of such punishment would say anything to receive mercy.
“You endangered Kendrick. Tell me, Betty. Was he part of the initial plan too?” Celine asked, and Betty raised her head from the ground.
She looked at Celine with tears rolling down her cheeks nonstop. “I’m sorry.” She mumbled.
“No. I can’t believe you actually thought about hurting my son! Betty, he isn’t even one yet! How could you? I saw you as the sister I never had. I was so happy that I could finally trust you and do things together, and this is how you repay me?” Celine uttered in a shaky voice too.
I could sense that she couldn’t hold back her tears any longer too.
“My mother is dead because of you.” Alpha Kilhan uttered, and she shook her head in disagreement aggressively.
“No. I know nothing about that. I swear on my life. I’d never hurt Mrs Anna.” Betty answered.
“I still don’t believe you didn’t poison her that day, anyway,” Celine uttered coldly, cleaning the tears on her cheeks.
Betty remained silent and all she did was weep. “I really did change, Celine. I swear. I’m not that Betty anymore.”
“Argh! Can we just get straight to the point? This depressing conversation is beginning to bore me! Alpha Kilhan, let’s hear her punishment, please.” I uttered in frustration.
Everyone turned to look at Alpha Kilhan, waiting for the next big word he was going to say.
He stood up from his chair, keeping a straight face as he stared at Betty.
“You are banished.” He announced.
“What?? Kilhan, please! Please don’t do this. I have nowhere else to go. I can be a slave here, but please don’t send me out there. I have no one. This is the only family I have.” She cried out, looking at Celine like she wanted her to speak for her.
“You should have thought that through before all these happened,” I mumbled under my breath.
“My judgment stands. If you are seen anywhere around this house or street, Facilities that belong to Kilhan, you will be dealt with. And I don’t mean just being punished. I mean, Death. You should be grateful I gave you another chance to live.”
After saying this, he called upon his men and they rushed into the living room. They grabbed her the same way they did initially and headed out of the house.
In satisfaction, I stood up too. It was time to go home. I turned to Celine with a faint smile on my face.
“You’ll never see her again, okay? You’re safe. Your family is safe.”
She stood up and embraced me tightly, weeping in my arms. I let her weep on me for a few minutes, and when she stopped, she looked at my face.
“Thank you so much for everything. I don’t even know how to repay you, Charles.” She uttered, and I shook my head.
“You don’t have to repay me, Celine. All I want you to do for me is to pray.” I responded, and she creased her brows.
“Pray??” She asked in confusion.
“I think I’m going to give Caesar a chance. I just don’t know how to go about it.” I said to her, and for the first time that day, she let out a genuine smile.
“Really? I wish you two luck! He’s so cute and nice.” She uttered, and I chuckled softly.
“I know. We’ll head home now. I’ll let you know how it goes.” I embraced her again, before walking away from her.
I got to Alpha Kilhan and we both shook hands. “Thank you for being here, Alpha Charles.” He uttered, and I shook my head.
“Anything for my sister and her family. Don’t mention. See you around.” I answered as I headed out of the house.
“That was pretty intense. I felt for the girl, Betty.” Caesar uttered as he walked next to me.
“I know you’re a nice soul, Caesar, but if you were with us yesterday, you’d understand why she deserves everything bad that comes to her.” I retorted.
Getting to the car, he opened the back door so I could go in. The driver started the car, and when Caesar was about to go and sit in the front, I stopped him.
“Caesar,” I called. “Come and sit here with me,” I said, slightly tapping the space next to me.
He raised his brows in surprise but didn’t hesitate. He opened the door and sat next to me at the back. The driver drove out of the compound, alongside the two other vehicles that escorted me.
While we were in the car, I couldn’t help but steal glances at Caesar. I wasn’t sure how to start a conversation with him, but I knew I did want a heartfelt conversation.
‘I just need to find a starting point.’ I said to myself.
I gulped hard and looked at him again. “Caesar, thank you for your work these past few days,” I uttered nervously, and he turned away from the window and looked at me with a smile on his face.
“You don’t have to thank me, Alpha Charles. It is my responsibility to serve you.” He answered, and I swallowed hard again and nodded.
“Still, I appreciate you being here with me.”
“Me being here is because I hate being so far from you. I’m doing myself a favor, you shouldn’t thank me for that.” He answered, still keeping his ever-charming smile on.
I began to fight with myself as I felt this overwhelming urge to stare at his lips.
Apart from the fact that he had a neatly carved mustache, plump lips, and a face that I could stare at forever and not get tired of, I wanted to feel his lips on mine.
He was about to look away when I pulled him closer by his jacket and covered his lips with mine.
He took over almost immediately like he suspected what was going to happen. I felt his strong hand grab my waist and pull me closer.
He devoured my lips hungrily and his tongue began to swirl and twirl in my mouth like it was on a treasure hunt.
And even though I could hardly catch my breath, I didn’t want him to stop. I wanted… more.
All of a sudden, he broke the kiss, causing me to open my lustful eyes. Though I was disappointed he stopped, I was glad I could catch my breath.
His gaze turned my face red and gave me a hard-on like never before.
“Why did you stop?” I asked in a very low and horny voice.
“It’s inappropriate to make love with my Alpha in the car. Let’s get home.” He responded, even though his hand was busy trying to get my belt out.
“But you said we should get home first.” I panted as I stared at his hand, wanting him to grab my hardness so badly.
“We’d make love at home, Alpha Charles. That doesn’t stop me from pleasuring you now.” He answered as he grabbed my hardness and buried his face in my neck, biting and nibbling on it.
I grabbed onto the car seat and threw my head backward as the pleasure seemed so unbearable.
