After A Month
~Alpha Kilhan~
Standing in front of the main door, I stared at the gate, watching it open as two cars drove in at full speed. These cars were the ones I had sent out to capture Ashley Grayson.
Drex and two omegas took the first car, while two of my Gammas took the other car. The cars parked in front of the house and I saw Drex alight.
He gave a slight bow as soon as he saw me and proceeded to open the back door of the car.
“Let me go! Don’t touch me!” Ashley yelled as they pulled her out of the car. The Omegas that went with Drex on the mission hastily grabbed her on both sides.
“What do you want from me?! Who are you?!” She yelled as she kept struggling to get free from them.
I walked down the Perron and moved closer to her. Just then, the Gammas from the second car dragged a young man towards me. He was her son.
I looked at Ashley and I saw her face was red. She must have cried and yelled all the way down here. When I got in front of her, she stopped yelling and struggled and looked at me.
“Who are you? Why are you doing this? What do you want from us?” She mumbled tearily.
I moved my gaze from her and looked at the face of the young man, and I noticed he had bruises all over his face. I knew he must have gotten them from when trying to fight off my Gammas.
“Take them to the cell. I’ll go there soon.” I ordered and without hesitation, they dragged them away even though they kept struggling.
I looked back and saw everyone standing in front of the house, including my mother. I walked up to her and said; “You should go back inside.”
She shook her head adamantly. “She's here already. I want to be there when you question her. I have questions too.” She responded, making me heave a sigh.
I looked at Betty, who gave me a reassuring nod. “Let her go with you.” She uttered.
“Fine. The rest of you, go back into the house. There’s nothing to see for now. Mother, let’s go.” I gave her my hand as a support as she climbed down the stairs.
We were both quiet until we got to the cell house. Ashley was put in the first cell, while her son was locked in the cell opposite hers.
“What are we doing here?! I don’t even know you!” Ashley yelled, holding onto the gate of the cell firmly.
Her son on the other hand remained quiet, staring at us intensely, but this didn’t move me one bit.
We have been after them for a whole month and they think yelling and stubbornness is going to save them?
I moved closer to Ashely’s cell gate, standing in front of it. “You want to know who I am? Well, let me introduce myself. I am Kilhan, the son of Late Alpha Elsher, whom you had an affair with.”
Saying this, I saw her eyes slowly widen in shock. Her hands fell from the gate and she took two steps backwards.
“Yeah. I knew that name would ring a bell. And I want to believe you know why you are here.” I added.
“No, I don’t. I didn’t kill Elsher.” She answered defensively.
“I never said you did. Is that your guilty conscience speaking?” I asked with a narrowed gaze.
“I swear on my life. I didn’t kill him.” She answered, moving closer to the gate.
“But you had an affair with him, didn’t you?” My mother butter in as she moved closer to the gate, making me step back.
Ashely went speechless as she stared at my mother. “Answer the question! I deserve to know what happened between you and my late husband.” Mother uttered angrily, hitting the gate and causing Ashley to jolt.
“Yes, we had an affair.” She answered.
“For how long?” Mother further asked.
“About six months.”
Hearing this, my mother lowered her head and gulped hard. She raised her head again and continued asking questions.
“How did you two meet?”
“At a business hummer. He moved to me first, I swear.”
“Of course, he did.” Mother mumbled with a scoff. “You were aware that he was married, right?”
“He never kept that fact and that is why I was never a bother.” She answered and I shook my head in frustration. I was beginning to get bored of the conversation.
I wanted to ask my own questions and do things my way.
“You were never a bother?? You think you weren’t?!” Mother yelled angrily.
“That’s enough mother. I’ll take it from here.” I tried to calm her down by touching her but she smacked my hand off and stormed out of the cell house.
After the loud bang of her slamming the door hit my ears, I moved closer to Ashley’s cell gate again.
“Why did you have an affair with my late father when you were still in an affair with Alpha Darius?” I asked, watching every facial expression she made.
“I… I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She stuttered, and I raised my eyebrows in awe.
“Really? You don’t know you were in a relationship with two Alphas at the same time? Or do you want me to force the truth out of you because I gladly will.” I uttered, walking towards her son’s cell.
“What is your name and how old are you?” I asked, staring into his eyes.
“Charles. I am twenty.” He answered, and my eyes widened.
“Twenty? There is no way he is my father’s son since they met a few years ago.” I thought, turning to look at Ashely.
“I can grab him right now and rip his heart out…”
“No! Don’t hurt him. I’ll tell you!” She cried. “I had always been in an affair with Darius, way before I met your father. I wanted to stop being with Darius because of the monster he is, and I thought your father could help me get away from Darius, that is why I had an affair with him.” She explained in tears.
“And did your plan work?” I inquired, and she shook her head.
“Darius found out and dug deep into your father’s life and business. Apart from the fact that I was with Elsher, he realized that your father was planning on bringing his business to his territory, New Orleans.”
“Then what happened? He killed him, right?”
“Yes, he did.” She answered, and I tightened my jaws.
“And why are you still alive even after you betrayed him by being with another man?” I further inquired with gritted teeth.
“I…” She paused and looked at Charles.
In frustration, I moved closer to the cell that her son was in, and in the twinkle of an eye, I extended my claws.
“Wait! He didn’t kill me because I helped him get to Elsher!” She yelled fearfully, making me stop. I turned to look at her, giving her the ‘go-on’ stare.
“He said if I helped him, he’d spare my life. So we came up with a plan that I’d lie to him that I was pregnant with his child. This was supposed to divert his attention from the New Orleans business plan, and it happened just as we had planned.”
“If the pregnancy was a lie, who is he?” I asked, pointing to Charles.
“He is Darius’ son. I had him when I started going out with Darius, but I kept him away from Darius because I didn’t want him growing up around a father like Darius.”
“And he didn’t look for his son?”
“I never told him I was pregnant. Luckily for me, he had a year trip and was out of New Orleans. I was able to give birth and hide him away without him knowing.” She further explained.
“Tell me exactly how Alpha Elsher died,” I ordered, and she nodded obediently.
“It was supposed to be the last day we’d ever meet. He was scared about the pregnancy news and told me he wasn’t interested anymore because he couldn’t keep hurting his wife.
“I was supposed to get rid of the baby that night, but he wanted us to have one more night together, so we met at his office when everyone had left. Before we could sleep together, I put drugs in his drink. It was Meth. We always took drugs before having sex because it made us run wild.
“I put enough in his drink and told him I was going to step out to get a feminine wash. This was when Darius snuck in and suffocated him with a pillow. I was shocked when I got back to see Darius in the office. I told him it wasn’t our plan, but the deed had been done. I had to run for my dear life. This is all I know.”
I clenched my jaws and tightened my fists as I listened to her. With a burning rage in me, I called in one of the guards from outside and he came in.
“Give me the key to his cell,” I ordered and immediately, he gave it to me. I unlocked Charles’ cell door and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt.
“What are you doing?!” Ashley yelled in terror.
I raised him in the air with one hand and began to punch his face while he was still suspended in the air. He tried struggling, his hands shaking helplessly in the air, but I was way stronger than him.
“Please! Stop! He doesn’t know anything! Please!” Ashely cried. “Hit me, instead! I’ll do whatever you want! He’s innocent!” She further cried.
After a few minutes, I stopped punching him and dropping him. His lips and eyes burst open and he was bleeding severely.
Storming towards Ashely’s cell, I held onto the gate, breathing profusely.
“I can leave him to bleed to death,” I uttered, as I felt his blood drip from my hand.
“Please don’t! I’ll do anything!”
“Good. You’re going to kill Darius or Charles dies.”
“What? Kill Darius? That is impossible!” She cried out.
“Then I’ll just kill him. And you. Both of you.” I answered, walking back to Charles who fought for his life on the floor.
“No! Wait! Tell me what to do! I’ll kill him!”
“Good.”’
